Entry 1. "001 has been created a few months after the Great War. With the D.N.A of a Greater Dog and myself, 001 was created.

Perhaps, with further study, I could create artificial life with just myself as the required D.N.A components...To Be Further Evaluated.

001 has the initial outward appearances of a Skeleton Monster, but because of the Greater Dog D.N.A used for it, 001 has skeletal wolf-like ears coming out of its skull and a skeletal tail extending from its tailbone.

I have to wonder if this hybridization is caused by an equal split of mine and Greater Dog D.N.A. Also, if this hybridization will cause complications down the road. I have to make it work, I gave up my left hand for the required D.N.A."

Entry 2. "001 is exceptionally intelligent. It learned WingDings and the Common Tongue extraordinarily quickly. Games of chess have also yielded success in showing off its impressive strategic capabilities. It often gets into debates with me about its existence and other meaningless drivel.

These debates have shown that 001 is self aware enough to know it should not exist, but not the reason why. Despite that, it has stated its contentment and gratitude for life and how it wished to meet other monsters.

Of course this was meant with swift and harsh disciplinary actions. Control shocks and three weeks locked in a new invention I dubbed "M.R.C" or "Magical Restraint Collar.

It stopped about other monsters and outside the lab fairly quick after that."

Entry 3. "001 has been introduced to a vast array of books and weaponry. It carefully examined the weaponry and skimmed through a majority of books until it could only read psychology, biology, and most other social sciences while tossing a sharpened dagger into the air and catching it by the blade.

After 001 was escorted back to their quarters it had formed its dark golden colored magic into long braided hair down its back. Despite the numerous demands and disciplinary courses of action, 001 refuses to dispel its magic.Starting new disciplinary measures."

Entry 4. "001 has given itself a name. It now calls itself "Nova" much to my vexation. Once a Skeleton Monster's soul acknowledges a name, it will attach itself to that name and it can never be altered."

Entry 5. "001, "Nova," has taken an interest in stars and constellations. Or so it led me to believe. I allowed it to have my good star charts and pens to study and when I returned the charts were torn to shreds and had childish graffiti all over them and the floor. 001 is being locked into the "M.R.C" until further notice."

Entry 139. "001 is trying my last ounce of patience. It is constantly interrupting my regular duties as the Royal Scientist. I suppose it is time for phase 2 of my experiment."

•Creation - Year 2, Month 5, Day 7 after the Great War•

•Age - Physical appearances show 002 to be of 2 years of life. Mental age is yet to be determined•

•Soul - Distressingly weak, yet currently stabilized. To be further evaluated•

•Sex - Male•

•Height - 1 foot, 4 inches, 2 centimeters•

•Weight - 4 lbs, 11 ounces•

Entry 1. "002 has been created 2 years, five months, and eight days after the Great War. 002 was created with the D.N.A of a Fire Elemental and myself."

Where 001 had equal parts of Greater Dog and Skeleton Monster D.N.A, 002 has 80% Skeleton Monster and 20% Fire Elemental. As a result it has retained all physical appearances of a Skeleton Monster, but a disconcertingly weak soul.

I gave up part of my left hand and a sliver of my own soul to meet the creation requirements. I was able to use 80% D.N.A from a single monster. With further experiments and time, I can make artificial life with the D.N.A of a single monster. To be further evaluated."

Entry 2. "Within the first few days of 001's creation, it was fluent in both Common Tongue and WingDings and solvings tests and puzzles with ease. 002 has shown no signs of speech. It stares at me, watches me, studies me. While I can see unequivocal intelligence in 002, it displays the outward mental and physical fortitude of a 2 year old. To be further evaluated."

Entry 3. "Today I wanted to see the interactions after introducing 001 and 002. I placed 002 in 001's quarters while it was asleep. 002, after thinking it was alone, proceeded to crawl throughout the room and solve the puzzle cube I permitted 002 to have. It also seemed to like to pull at the braid 001 insists on keeping.

By that time, 001 was awake and curious about the intruder in its quarters. 001 lifted 002 to its face and apparently sniffed it. 001 was curious and watched 002 crawl throughout its room. After a few hours, 001 and 002 have drawn pictures with markers on the walls and floor of 001's quarters.

I was annoyed, but pleased that the artificial life could interact with one another without coming to blows. I am going to leave 002 in 001's quarters to observe how they interact on a day to day basis."

Entry 4. "There was an...unfortunate incident. 001 was going through combative experiments. The main focus was dodging and trying to hit a dummy with an attack. 001 had a difficult time with the experiment. 002 somehow appeared in front of 001 and took one of my bone attacks to its right eye socket.

001 attempted healing it as 002 started to dust away. Having never taught 001 how to heal, I did not expect much. Miraculously, 001 succeeded in healing 002. It would appear 001 is gifted with strong healing magic, able to save 002 on the brink of dusting. 001's healing capabilities will need to be studied."

Entry 5. "After evaluation, 002 has not gone blind in its right eyelight, but the eyelight lost the ability to glow when magic is used. To be further evaluated"

Entry 6. "001 appears to have taken a sort of "maternal role" toward 002. It has taken to being defensive when I come to collect 002 for tests or evaluation. Starting new disciplinary measures."

Entry 7. The "S.T.M" or "Shock Treatment Muzzle" has not yet yielded the results I demanded. If anything, 001 is even more defensive and volatile against me entering its quarters. Increasing voltage."

Entry 8. "002 has continued to show no signs of speech. It must have a speech deformity caused by either its weak soul or the 20% of Fire Elemental D.N.A. To be further evaluated."

Entry 9. "I have granted 001 permission to roam about the lab to preoccupy 002 while I work on the useless safety measures for the Core. I have taken to constant monitoring 001 to make sure it doesn't try anything."

Entry 10. "002 has been put through speech trials. I have come to the conclusion that, while 002 is clearly intelligent and very observant and can make basic whines and noises, it seems that 002 does not have the ability to form words. I am stating with definity that, Experiment 002, is mute."

Entry 11. "I am placing 002 in the "M.R.C" for a week and locking it in a separate room, away from 001. I cannot place it in the "S.T.M" for fear my experiment will dust before I can study it. It has destroyed my paper detailing the Core's Status with pen markings. It presented the monstrosity like it was proud of the damage it caused.

I presume that , if 001 was awake, it would've prevented 002 from destroying this week's Core's status report. As it stands, physical discipline would only result in 002's dusting, so isolation and no magic will be as far as I will be able to discipline it."

Entry 12. "001 has tried to escape. I have permanently locked 001 in the "S.T.M" and the "M.R.C" and locked it in its quarters. All the books and papers and all the puzzles I permitted 001 to study with have been confiscated.

I have also locked 002 in a glass cell imbued with my magic to prevent it breaking. I forced 002 to watch as I electrocuted 001 until I saw fit. I can't have both my experiments trying to escape. Looking into further disciplinary measures."

Entry 13. "002 has refused to solve puzzles or anything of the like. If it could speak, this would be easier."

Entry 14. "Through trial and error, I have deciphered 002's refusal to do anything. 001. 002 is more emotionally attached to 001 than I had initially thought. I will look into possibilities to force 002 to cooperate."

Entry 15. "I have created a large maze with 002 locked up in the "M.R.C" and "S.T.M" in a glass box at the end. 002 solved the maze within an hour and forty-five minutes. It has also blasted through the magically reinforced glass. I did not think 002 had that potent magical energy. This is definitely something to look into."

Entry 16. "For a full month, I have been testing and exploring 002's magical capabilities. 002 is very magically competent and very powerful. 002 is much more powerful than 001. Maybe more powerful than me. As of this moment 002 could very well save or destroy the Underground if it ever got loose. I am not taking that risk. To be further evaluated."

Entry 17. "001 has managed to incapacitate me by smashing a centrifuge into my skull. I have two never healing fractures now. One above my left eye and one below my right. For some inconceivable reason, I woke up to 002 healing me. I grew enraged and backhanded 002 away from me. I remember hearing it's HP go down, but it didn't dust.

However before I could further explore 002's HP, it ran out of the main lab and hid in its quarters. I decided to save the new "HP TRIALS" for another day. I had enough problems for one day. I made sure to leave a plate of noodles in 002's quarters before locking its door and the lab."

Entry 18. "002's right eyelight has not returned to the bright blue it used to be. I must conclude that the eyelight is lost to the void."

Entry 19. "002 has officially escaped the lab. I received a phone call from a...past acquaintance called Grillby. The last living, PURE, Fire Elemental in the Underground. Grillby has found 002 in Snowdin. My question now is, how did 002 escape to Snowdin from Hotland within a five minute time frame?"

Entry 20. "It appears my experiment has not come to an end. The Fire Elemental has gotten 002 to speak. Much to my disdain, Grillby has given 002 the name "Sans." It is a name for lowercase skeletons, however I would have preferred to not name 002.

While 001 was a clear Uppercase like myself, 002 is a, now apparent, lowercase. It is strange to think about. Typically in Skeletal Culture two Uppercases have 100% chances for an Uppercase with no chance of a lowercase, two lowercases have a 90% chance for a lowercase with a 10% chance for an Uppercase, an Uppercase and a lowercase will have a 65% chance for an Uppercase and a 35% for a lowercase.

As it stands, with myself as the only Uppercase Skeleton to contribute D.N.A 002 should have turned out to be an Uppercase, I'm curious as to the reason why 002 is a lowercase. I speculate the 20% of Fire Elemental D.N.A used to create 002 is the cause for it, although only future testing can prove it to be sure."

Alphys stared at the journal in her shaking claws with a mix of fear, disbelief, and horror in her eyes. She remembered Sans when he was a small babybones. He would accompany Gaster to and from the lab when she just started out as his lab assistant.

One, or maybe even two of her friends were artificially created by her mentor; they were experimented on like they were animals; their older sister was somewhere in the Underground. She felt like she just read the worst horror story of her life.

A warm hand was placed on her shoulder and Alphys's fight or flight automatically kicked in. She squeezed her eyes shut, spun around, used her tail to whack the intruder away from her, and threw the journal in the general direction of where the intruder fell.

Once her eyes opened, she saw the gravity of the situation she had unintentionally caused. Grillby lay in the center of the machine covered in a large salad and some type of beverage.

"Miss Alphys -"

The journal lay in Grillby's lap as the machine activated from Grillby's magic and the violent shaking from the 6'4 monster falling into it. Grillby's last memory of Alphys in the Underground was of her crying and trying to run toward him.

This chapter is my favorite ever since Flowey, or Asriel. I hope everyone's questions about Experiment 001 "Nova" have been satisfied or will increase. I love her character and I barely wrote about her. 

This chapter is dedicated to Pegasus_3504. Pegasus is my sister and was shipped off to basic training and AIT today. I won't see her for six months, aside from a (hopeful) week for Christmas if she can make it home. The day she comes home I won't feel empty. And that's all the personal emotions I will share for the next year
