Cher was very nervous as she walked into her first class at her new school, she kept her head down and just found the only spare seat next this coloured boy. She saw him out of the corner of her eye and had to admit she was very cute but she was to shy pr awkward to say anything to him, threw out the how lesson she felt eyes on her and just put it down to her being new. When lunch came she walked into the canteen and went into the lunch line, she got her food and as she went to walk away she felt someone trip her and people stared but no one helped her. She looked up at what she had now had gathered are the school bullies "oh look at what we have here?" The boy said as he picked her up by the collar of her shirt "hey leave h-h-her alone bowers" a different voice says. Cher looked to see a group of kids her age "oh look its the losers club" Henry says and cher kicks him making him let her go she stood with the losers club "this isn't over new kid, I'll get you for this" Henry says and he storms off. Cher looked at the losers "thanks for helping" she said "of course, I'm Beverley by the way" the only girl in the group says and one by one cher was introduced to the rest of the losers club. She then realized that mike was the boy in her class, she smiled at him as when asked about how they all became friends they gave each other worried expressions. Then cher noticed the scars on their hands "look were gonna tell you something and it might sound crazy" ben says "I'm listening" cher replied. As they told her the story of what happened to then all last summer the thing they fought it reminded her of a story her grandmother used to tell her "hey you okay?" Eddie asked "yea its just, the thing you've all described reminded me of something my grandmother used to tell me about" cher said. They all made plans to meet up after school "cher wait!" Mike called as cher stopped for him to catch up with her "yea mike what's up?" She asked "I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out some time?" Mike asked and that made cher smile. She happily nodded "yea I'd like that" she says and mike smiled as well, the two a few months later began to date and at first her parents didn't like it but once they got to know mike they were fully supportive of the relationship.
