Chapter 6 *Toad POV*
A brown tom padded through the trees, swerving every single one skilfully and quickly. After a few moments of twisting and turning, he halted next to a unique tree, which was much smaller and had darker bark. He pushed his way past a bush on the side of it, into a small clearing, full with cats sharing tongues or meals.
"Hey, Toad!" Moon's delighted purr sounded towards him, and he turned to his mate.
"Hi Moon," he purred nuzzling her.
"Where did you go?" She asked, her pupils round.
"To go hunt. No luck though," he sighed, sitting down to groom himself.
Moon blinked sympathetically, and sat down beside him.
"I wonder when we will attack the Clans." She murmured, her eyes growing distant.
She is probably thinking about Mothsight. But Shadeberry told us she was a good cat. Toad thought to himself. He hadn't told Moon yet that Mothsight was against them. He hadn't even told her anything about it.
"You know. Me and Shadeberry are evil cats. Darkthorn told her, if I remember correctly. We have to find the two good cats, who will stop the war, but we try carry it on. We found out a few sunrises ago who the two good cats are," Toad explained, and Moon looked at him, overwhelmed.
"You what what?" She meowed, confused.
Toad purred in amusement, and explained again to her.
Her eyes widened. "And you never told me?"
Toad shook his head. "Sorry. But now I have," he added, nudging her teasingly. "Or do you want me to say it all again?"
Moon turned away. "Then who are the good cats?"
Toad hesitated, and licked her ear softly. "Mothsight, and another cat who she didn't tell Shadeberry."
"Mothsight? The one I let go?" She echoed, standing up on her paws in horror. "None of this would have happened if Raven killed her, or I kept her hostage!"
Toad stared down at his paws. "You can regret it, but you can't undo it, Moon." He muttered softly.
She sighed and rested her head on her paws, looking up at Toad.
"If only.." she mumbled.
"Want to go on a walk together?" Toad offered, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"Sure," Moon didn't even hesitate, and they stood and began to walk out of camp.
.~~.
"So we attack tomorrow at night?" Toad repeated what Raven had said before.
She nodded. "So you think the dark forest has trained everyone enough?" She checked quickly.
He thought back to last night, where every single cat had trained very hard. Then he remembered the first night.
He knew every cat had improved a lot.
Nodding firmly, he meowed, "Yes. Everyone should be ready."
Raven slowly dipped her head. "Then we shall attack tomorrow night, while a lot of cats are at the gathering. Which Clan do we start with first?"
"Maybe ThunderClan. It's closest. Then RiverClan, then ShadowClan then WindClan. We can get easily from Clan to Clan that way. Then we can go to the gathering and attack them all there."
Raven shook her head swiftly. "We would be battered, and then outnumbered. It's not worth it. Leave it be. Then after that, we can set bones on all the territories and make them think the other Clans put them there and trespassed."
Toad nodded. "Great idea!"
"Thank you. We shall train with the dark forest for one more night before the attack, and leading the Clans into war." She purred, stood and arched her back into a long stretch.
"Goodnight Toad." She meowed before padding away into the darkness of the night.
Toad didn't dare call back out to her to say the same. Cats were sleeping, and probably training. He needed them all to have a good rest, ready for tomorrow night.
He settled down into his nest next to Moon, and closed his eyes sleepily, only to open them again to see the familiar land of the place of no stars.
Looking around, he noticed Shadeberry and Darkthorn sitting together, heads low down as they spoke.
Padding over, he sat beside Shadeberry, and they both turned to him.
"Hey, Toad. Have you came up with a plan?" Shadeberry greeted her brother with a friendly flick of her tail.
"Yes, me and Raven came up with one before I came here," he meowed, nodding.
Darkthorn narrowed his eyes and smirked. "Good. It is time to bring the Clans into war."
