Chapter 37
Third person's pov
"Taehyung," Jungkook whispered gently, reaching out to touch his hand. "You don't have to tell me anything you're not ready to share. I'm here for you, no matter what."
Taehyung took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling with the weight of his memories. "I need to tell you, Jungkook. I want you to understand why I've been struggling to fully embrace our bond."
Taehyung took a deep breath and begin,
"I met Hye-joon when we were just kids, playing together in the neighborhood grounds," Taehyung began.
"We became fast friends, and as we grew older, that friendship blossomed into something deeper. I fell in love with him, though I didn't fully understand what it meant at the time."
"We spent countless days together, laughing, exploring, and dreaming of a future side by side. I thought we were invincible, that nothing could ever tear us apart."
Jungkook listened attentively, he intertwined his hand with Taehyung's
"But as time went on, I could feel something changing between us," Taehyung continued, his voice quivering with the pain of that realization.
"Hye-joon grew distant, and his affection for me seemed to wane. I tried my best to hold onto him, to understand what was happening, but he kept pulling away."
The room seemed to tighten around them as Taehyung's memories resurfaced, flooding him with the heartache he had tried so hard to bury.
"I was in denial, you know," he admitted, "I didn't want to believe that the person I loved so deeply could be slipping away from me. It hurt too much to confront the truth."
Jungkook's heart ached as he saw the pain etched across Taehyung's face. He leaned in closer, offering a comforting presence, a safe harbor for Taehyung to unload his burdens.
"Then, one fateful day," Taehyung's voice shook with grief, "I received the news about the accident. Hye-joon and his partner had been in a terrible carriage accident, and they didn't survive.
Tears streamed down Taehyung's cheeks as he recalled the moment when his heart had been torn apart. "It was then, amidst the sorrow and grief, that I found out about Hye-joon's secret relationship," he confessed, his voice breaking. "He had been seeing someone else behind my back, and I had been completely ob-blivious." His voice cracked a little at the end.
Jungkook's heart sank for Taehyung, he wrapped his arms around Taehyung, pulling him close.
"I was devastated and angry," Taehyung continued. "I couldn't understand why he had kept it from me, why he had chosen someone else over me. I felt betrayed and worthless, as if I wasn't enough to keep him by my side."
"I was only glad about one thing that, I found out about it before the age 25, otherwise I would have betrayed you."
Taehyung's tears flowed freely as he clung tightly to Jungkook, his heart pouring out all the pain and sorrow he had carried for so long.
Jungkook held him with a tender strength, his arms wrapped protectively around Taehyung's trembling form.
He understood that these tears were not just a response to the past but a cathartic expression of all the emotions that had been suppressed, unspoken for far too long.
With each heartfelt cry, Jungkook's own heart ached for Taehyung.
He gently stroked his back, tracing soothing patterns as he whispered words of comfort and reassurance, like a soothing melody to mend a broken soul.
"Let it all out, Taehyung," Jungkook whispered, his voice a gentle balm. "I'm here, and I won't let go."
Taehyung clung to Jungkook like a lifeline, the sobs wracking his body slowly subsiding as he found solace in the warmth of his mate's embrace.
As the last of Taehyung's tears fell, he took deep, shuddering breaths, gradually calming under Jungkook's loving care.
"Thank you," Taehyung finally whispered, his voice hushed but sincere. "For holding me, for listening, for understanding."
Jungkook gently tilted Taehyung's tear-streaked face to meet his gaze.
"You never have to thank me for being here for you," Jungkook replied, his voice steady and full of devotion.
In the safety of Jungkook's arms, Taehyung allowed himself to be vulnerable, to let go of the pain that had haunted him for so long.
As the night wore on, Jungkook held Taehyung close, as the weight of their emotional conversation lifted, Taehyung felt the gentle embrace of sleep slowly overtaking him.
His eyes grew heavy, and the exhaustion from releasing years of pent-up emotions washed over him like a soothing wave.
Jungkook watched tenderly as Taehyung's breathing steadied, knowing that his mate needed rest after such an emotional release.
Carefully, he shifted his position, easing Taehyung's head onto his lap, cradling him with care.
Taehyung nestled comfortably against Jungkook's thigh.
Jungkook gently ran his fingers through Taehyung's hair, soothing him further.
As Taehyung drifted into slumber, he felt an overwhelming sense of security.
Leaning back against the headboard, Jungkook allowed himself to be fully present in that quiet moment.
Time seemed to slow as Jungkook remained vigilant, ensuring Taehyung's comfort as he slept.
In the month that followed their emotional conversation, Taehyung and Jungkook's bond flourished like a delicate blossom blooming under the nourishing sun.
The weight of Taehyung's past was no longer a barrier between them, but rather a stepping stone towards a deeper understanding and connection.
They spent countless hours together, engaging in heartfelt conversations and discovering new facets of each other's personalities.
Taehyung, once hesitant to fully open up, found solace in Jungkook's patient presence.
He began to share more of his thoughts, dreams, and fears, knowing that he was embraced with love and acceptance.
Jungkook, in turn, revealed his vulnerabilities as well, strengthening the sense of trust and intimacy between them.
One day in the soft glow of the afternoon sun, Jungkook sat in his room, engrossed in a book when a light tap on the door drew his attention. Setting aside his reading, he called out, "Come in."
The door opened, revealing a maid with a warm smile, and she curtsied gracefully. "Good afternoon, Luna," she greeted with a gentle tone. "
"Alpha Taehyung asked me to give you this letter." She said handling the letter to Jungkook.
Jungkook took it from the maid with a grateful nod and replied, "Thank you."
The maid bowed slightly before retreating, leaving Jungkook alone with the intriguing letter.
He carefully broke the seal and unfolded the delicate paper, curiosity dancing in his eyes as he read Taehyung's words.
"Jungkook-ah," the letter began, "I hope this letter finds you well. I have a special surprise planned for tonight, and I ask that you get ready by 8 o'clock. I promise it will be an enchanting night, just for the two of us.
Love, Taehyung.
Jungkook's heart soared at the tender words, and a mix of excitement and wonder filled him.
As the hours passed, Jungkook found himself glancing at the clock more frequently, anticipation building within him like a crescendo in a symphony.
At 6:30 PM, he decided it was time to get ready for the enchanting evening that awaited him.
He stood before the mirror, contemplating what to wear, when a soft knock on the door drew his attention once more.
"Come in," he called out, expecting it to be another maid with perhaps some instructions from Taehyung.
To his surprise, the door opened, and a different maid entered, her eyes shimmering with excitement. She held in her hands a garment so exquisite that Jungkook couldn't help but gasp at its beauty.
"I apologize for the intrusion," she said, "but Alpha asked me to bring this to you."
Jungkook looked at the maid with awe as she approached him, presenting the gown with utmost care.
The maid smiled warmly, "Alpha Taehyung prepared it especially for you, Luna. It would complement your natural charm and beauty."
Jungkook blushed hearing her words.
Soon the maid left do that Jungkook can change his clothes.
As Jungkook donned the exquisite pink gown, it felt like he was stepping into a fairytale.
As he twirled before the mirror, the gown swirled around him like a cloud of blooming petals, and a soft smile tugged at his lips.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the estate, Jungkook made his way outside, where the carriage awaited to take him to the place
Taehyung had arranged for their evening. The driver, a kind and elderly man, greeted him with a warm smile as he helped Jungkook into the carriage.
"Have a wonderful evening, Luna," the driver said, his voice filled with cheerfulness.
Jungkook smiled in return, "Thank you," he replied, his heart racing at the thought of the surprises that lay ahead.
As the carriage rolled through the gentle countryside, Jungkook admired the beauty of the surroundings, the passing scenery only adding to his excitement.
He couldn't wait to see what Taehyung had prepared for them, but he knew whatever it was, it would be nothing short of enchanting.
Finally, the carriage came to a stop, and Jungkook stepped out, his breath taken away by the sight before him.
The garden had been transformed into a wonderland of twinkling lights, blooming flowers, and fragrant candles.
The beauty of the setting made Jungkook's heart soar, and he knew that this night would be one he would cherish forever.
Twinkling fairy lights adorned every tree, casting a soft, ethereal glow that bathed the surroundings in a warm, golden embrace.
"Taehyung!" Jungkook called out.
In that moment, he spotted Taehyung standing by a grand archway, his eyes sparkling with affection as he watched Jungkook approach.
Taehyung looked stunning, dressed in an elegant suit that perfectly complemented the magical ambiance of the garden.
As Jungkook drew closer, he noticed something glinting in Taehyung's hand.
Taehyung knelt down before Jungkook, his expression tender and sincere. "Jungkook," he began, his voice soft but filled with emotion,
"Will you do me the honor of accepting me as your mate, to walk this journey of life together, hand in hand, through every joy and every challenge ?"
