Hadrian's POV

There was no way I was letting Cupid taunt me. And I wasn't letting Rhea roam the halls with King. He was my friend but his track record with girls was just as bad as my own. I took Rhea to the opposite side of the room where there were tables.

"Sit," I told her.

She did as I said but raised an eyebrow, not liking my tone.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Cupid." I sat down in front of her. Pia did a good job of picking a dress for her. It left nothing to the imagination.

"She said you'd be jealous," she said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"And I was," I replied honestly. I wasn't going to lie. If King had gone off with her, he wouldn't go home with all his body parts. I needed to change the topic. "Do you want something to drink?"

"Might as well."

I got up and made my way to the bar. Then I sensed the son-of-a-b*tch. So my dad did invite him. I picked up Rhea's glass and went back to where I left her to find my dad talking to her. Without removing my eyes off him, I handed Rhea her drink.

"Son, I was just talking to Rhea about her studies. She's a clever girl."

The praise caused her to blush. I, however, was annoyed.

"You changed the rules of my punishment."

He knew exactly what I was talking about. "His mother made a deal. It was this or take it to the press."

"Then you choose the press. I came here as you asked but him here as well? Are you asking me to kill him?"

"Who?" I almost forgot Rhea was sitting there listening.

I gave my dad a final glare then turned to her. "Come. I'll tell you while we dance."

She said bye to my dad and took my arm. There were a lot of people waltzing so I moved my arms onto her hips and swayed in time with the music.

"You're not going to do a grand spin or anything?" she teased, her own arms loosely around my neck.

"Maybe later."

We went silent for a few minutes. Somehow, we had moved close enough that she was resting her head on my chest. For a moment, I forgot that there was a d*ckhead in the room.

"Cough cough."

I growled the second I saw him. I could rely on him to kill the mood or make me want to kill him. Rhea's eyes widened when she noticed him and slightly put some distance between us. F*ck him and the b*tch he brought.

"Kane, why are you- what are you doing here?" She asked.

"I was invited by his dad and I see you're still whoring around," he sneered. Hypocrite. The d*ck had his arm around Tash.

"I'm not whoring around. I see you've moved on quickly," Rhea pointed to the b*tch.

"She's much better than the slut I was previously dating."

I stepped forward to show him what I thought about him but Rhea held me back. "Hadrian, you are not going to beat him up here."

"So I can do it somewhere else?" I was failing to control my anger.

"You can't touch me," Kane said.

Why did every guy on my hated list think I can't hit them? Well, congratulations. I'll prove you wrong. I grabbed onto his collar before Rhea had a chance to stop me then poof, we were gone. We appeared outside the ballroom, in my mother's garden that was in front of the forest. I threw him to the floor.

"I'm not gonna lie, you have balls for coming here and calling Rhea a slut."

He spat on the ground. "She cheated on me. And now she's being a gold digger. What else should I call her?"

"How about her name? The one her mother gave her?"

"Is it h*e?" He said smirking. He thought he was clever.

I punched him hard, breaking his jaw. "Get over her Charmer. She doesn't want you."

He could barely talk due to the damage I'd done to his face. "She's nothing to me anymore. The b*t-"

I hit him again. I heard a crack so I assumed his ribs were damaged. Kane dropped to the ground wheezing in pain. "I'm not going to repeat myself Charmer. I will f*cking kill you if you even breathe an insult about Rhea. Do you hear me?"

He tried to smirk but he didn't have enough strength. "You're such a b*tch. You're nothing to Rhea."

His spine. I could break it but I knew I would get into some serious sh*t. "She's mine, Charmer. That girl is mine. I'm giving you an option here, get out and stay away from me and Rhea or I end your life right now."

He tried to appear brave but I knew he understood I wasn't joking. I planted an image of what would happen to him. No matter where he went, I would be able to find him so if he p*ssed me off, nothing would stop me from carrying out my threat.

"I'll go. I'll go," he said hastily.

I texted King and asked him if he could get rid of Kane without letting my dad see him as the d*ck couldn't exactly move. King agreed so I went back inside. Rhea stood beside Tash, glaring at her. They probably had discussed Tash's current condition.

"Can we leave?" She looked fed up and so was I.

"Let's go, princess."

And next chapter is going to be very interesting... (I'm cringing even when I think of it. You might be glad when you read it but remember I suffered to write it )
