"what do you mean you're going to see Timileyin?"

It was Rona, she decided to bug my life again.
"can you please just call him Timi " I begged.

" wasn't it just last week you went to hang out with him? " she asked again blocking me from getting to the door.

" Ronaaaa, I'm going to see Nk not Timi " I cried

"don't you think you're too young to be dating? " she asked.

" I'm not dating him!! "

" no but you're seeing him which means you're dating him and Fisayo too " she stated

" oh God "I sighed and fell to Aisha's bed in defeat. About Aisha, she had gotten so withdrawn these days after her break up with Hakeem.

" you can stay back with me, we'll read the bible together "Anu offered with a smile.

" no thank you, I'll pass "
I wished Debra was around, she always know how to handle Rona.
To be sincere, Rona's annoying ways made little changes in our lives. Debra for example had gone from total serial killer to mini serial killer. It was a good thing.
The other evening when we went out for a walk, a girl accused Debra of not walking properly thereby causing Debra to bump into her.
She gave the girl one hard fierce look and then ignored her. It was just so surprising.

Sometimes Rona would talk to us, though before succeeding in that, we would yell at her, throw insults before finally surrendering by listening to her moral life instructions. Which would leave us thinking if we've actually been living a good life or not.
No matter the impact her talks always leave on us, we'll still tell her how boring it was.

I personally had grown to like both annoying Rona and quiet Anu.
There was a time Debra threatened to beat a student who mocked Rona on her churchy mindset and stuff.

Aisha still didn't fully like Rona and it wasn't surprising. She was still recovering from her so called heart break and Josh had been trying his best in getting to make her like him... 'as a friend' he'd always say.

"can you tell Josh not to come today? " Aisha tells me.

" I can't.. I don't even have his number " I answered

" well, I have it " she brought out her phone and started going through her contact list.

A smirk crawled to my face "you have his number... Interesting"
She hit my arm "shut up"

"why do you have his number? " I teased.

" to call him ... Durrh "

" ohh, to call? " I laughed

" can you just shut up? " she frowned.

" since when did Aisha Nuru, the daughter of the former minister of finance start giving her number to guys with faded jeans? " I sang

" Walai! I'm going to kill you when I get the chance, in fact, I hope a car smashes you on your way or something " she says before burying herself under her blanket.

I laughed hard holding my belly. Rona's face twisted in dissatisfaction" Aisha don't say bad things "

Still laughing, I picked my bag, tapped Rona on the shoulder" it was just a joke. I'll be back soon "
She wouldn't hear of it, she still blocked me from moving an inch.

" you're an animal " I blurted out.

" I was created in God's image, watch your mouth " she says firmly.

" Okay fine, I promise to go for bible studies with you this evening " I finally had to make a deal.

" are you serious? "she asked with a smile which was always hard to find on her face.

I nodded" yeah"
She let me pass and I still threw an insult at her.

Nk asked me to meet her at a particular place, she said it was urgent. I didn't bother taking my car because I was too tired to drive.
It was hard finding a cab so I took what I loved best, a bike.

I spotted Nk's car so I got down and paid the bike man.

"Hey babe" I greeted as I got into her car. She looked like she had just been crying.

"OMG! What's wrong? "I asked with worry.

"it's Michael" she cried as she cleaned her nose with her tissue.

Timi she means!

"what did he do to you?" I dared myself to ask.

"he told me he couldn't continue with me " she cried.
" he took me out on a date and when I thought I had the best boyfriend in the world, he spilled the bad news and you know what he did, he was still gentlemanly enough to drive me back to the hostel, I cried and begged him but he had his mind set, that was the day before yesterday.........

She was crying too bad. What was I supposed to do?

"I kept on calling him but he wouldn't pick my calls, he said he has somebody else he's in love with... Something about one secondary school girl, imagine, he chose an high school girl over me " she cried.
This was soooooooooo awkward!!!!

" so what do you intend doing? " I gulped

" I want to go over to his place first before I take the next step" she explained.

How on earth would I tell her that I am the so called secondary school student Michael/Timi was talking about?
It was quite sweet that Timi decided to break up with her because of me, he was probably doing the same with the other ladies but Nk here considers me as her friend, I wouldn't want to hurt her, oh God, I shouldn't have lied to her in the first place about not knowing Timi. This was an actual total mess.
And wait, why was Timi breaking up with her because of me, he knows quite well that anytime, any day, I would choose Ferdinand over him .. No Fisayo ... Look Timi had passed on this this forgetting names issues already! .....

I had to feign sickness or something, I didn't want to go with her to his house, I should have listened to Rona.

"you're the only friend I can count on " she cried holding my arm, did she read my mind, she knows i had it in mind to escape. My phone vibrated, Timi's message popped in.

*Zaddy's so tired, I need a massage from you and you only, where do we hang out today?

I didn't want to reply but knowing Timi, he would call if I didn't. He had learnt to be considerate enough not to just call me anyhow, I might be in class, Rona's church or something so he usually sends a text first.

*Timi, we can't talk now. I'll call you soon.

"please when we get there I need you to join me in begging him " she cried

I nodded, I'm in big trouble.

While she drove on, I wondered if I should tell her right in the car or just wait till we get to Timi 's.... What was I supposed to tell her?

I was so scared.... If only I had listened to Rona!
Why was I even being scared, if it were to be me of the previous year, I wouldn't even care but this present me is scared as hell!

We arrived the place. It took me a long time before I got down because I didn't even want to.

Timi opened the door for us, he had this big smile on, then it turned to a frown then a smile again.

"I didn't expect to see you girls, how are you two doing? " he asked.

" fine" I mumbled.
Nk didn't say anything, she started crying again, grabbing a fistful of his shirt "please Michael, please don't leave me, I love you so much and you mean a lot to me.. Please"

Timi looked upset and had this irritated face like she was going to stain his shirt.
She fell to her knees still holding onto his shirt begging.
We were still standing at the threshold.
She looked up at me like inwardly begging me to help her beg him.

"just tell me what I did, please, I'm Sorry " she cried.

I felt so sorry for her. Timi broke up with her because of me. Who was I deceiving? I had feelings for him and one part of me was happy that he was done with her but look at me, I was still holding onto Fisayo.

No, I didn't want Fisayo, I wanted Timi so bad but I had to be sure of what I was doing. I didn't want to take a step I would regret.
Timi asked me to figure out myself and that was exactly what I was doing. I wouldn't want to just jump into conclusion.

"Nkechi, you're being too dramatic.. You know what, both of you come inside, I don't want the neighbours eavesdropping " he said as he brushed her hands off his shirt and rudely walked away from us.

I helped her to her feet and gently pushed her in. I was once in her shoes, I was once heart broken too. Twice!

" have your seat, make yourself feel at home " Timi says walking to the kitchen.
He was acting like he didn't care about the whole thing.

" Nk, you'll be fine " I say patting her back.

He came out with a tray filled with a juice pack and two glass cups.
He dropped it on the table with a smile" here, have a drink "

" baby why are you acting like you haven't been listening to me at all? " Nk cried.
Timi clicked his tongue as he fell to the sofa "I thought we were passed this baby thing"

I used to call him an annoying guy but he was way more than annoying. Around me he was actually at his best behaviour but with others he was just so... Raw.

"the first time we met, I made you understand it was just a one night thing with no string attached but you got so attached to me and even when I was pushing you away, you still kept on pushing yourself to me" he started. He took a glass cup the one supposedly belonging to one of us and poured a drink for himself before sipping it and asking if I wanted a drink too.
I avoided eye contact with him and shake my head in refusal to accept the drink.

"oh common Benny, take a sip, I know it's not your favourite five alive but it's still an orange juice " he smiles

Nk turned to me, I quickly looked away. Timi is sometimes so foolish.

" what do you mean? " she asked looking at both Timi and I.

He was smirking and still drinking his juice.

" Benita talk to me, he just called you Benny and he said something about your favourite drink, what's going on? " she asked again.

Why was I even being scared? Forget Rona, forget being a church girl, be your old self and get out of this mess.

" fine, I'll tell you everything, I've known him for a very long time now, even before you met him ... He's my friend" I finally answer. I didn't do anything bad here, we weren't even dating, why was I panicking.

"There's nothing to be suspicious of, the only crime I committed here is pretending not to know him the first time I came here with you " I added.

Timi coughed and quickly dropped his glass "the other crime she committed is this, she's the secondary school student I told you of, she was just being too polite that she didn't want to tell you all these while, we have something going between us"

Godddd!

"you care for a drink? " he asked raising his hand to her.

"Nk listen to me, it's not like that, I told you I have a boyfriend already didn't I?.....

"you call that a boyfriend " Timi chuckled pouring himself another drink.

" Timi please shut up! "

" Timi? " Nk asked with confusion. It was really a pathetic scene.

" I'm sorry darling, this really is a big mess, my name's Timileyin, Timi for short and not the Michael Lamar I told you.... " he laughed.

" can you stop laughing please " I yelled standing up before turning to Nk.

" I'm sorry everything turned out like this, I wouldn't do anything to hurt you " I say trying to hold her hand but she pushed me away.

Timi stood up and wrapped his hand around my waist, I was filled with disgust and roughly shoved him off.

" honestly Nkechi, I'm so sorry, I didn't plan on letting this get this far, I know you hate me so much and I'm really sorry but this can't work out. I've known Benny for a very long time and my love for her is unexplainable " he explained.

Wait, his love for me?

" this is all my fault " Nk nodded.
" I was being a fool " she continued

" exactly " Timi whispered, she didn't hear him and I quickly hit my elbow against him.

" you used to tell me back then that love isn't something to jump in... It comes with time. I should have known you were referring to me, I was just so buried in my love for you that I wasn't able to see the truth " she blows her nose.

" and you Benny, I don't really know what to say because you haven't actually done anything bad... But I shouldn't have expected less when it comes to you knowing your background and the type of friends you keep"

Say one bad thing about my friends and let WWIII begin.

"I'll just accept my fate, what other choice do I have?

"" none" Timi whispered.

With that she picked her bag and stormed out.

Well, that was a whole episode!

" you came in her car right? Don't worry, I'll drive you back " Timi says grabbing his cup to finish its content.

I turned back and hit his chest " don't you feel bad for her? "
He held my hands "I've done worse than this, I'm actually changing because of you"

"leave me alone, how do you expect me to face Nk now? " I pushed him off before going to sit.

" since when did you start caring about other's feelings? "

" since I met you and Rona "

" your roomie and I? "

" yes "

He poured the drink in a cup and handed it to me, I collected but still frowned at him but he smiled back the sat down. I instantly remembered something.

" you said you love me "

" when?" he smirked

"I'm serious "

" so am I " he smiles. I laughed and threw my purse at him.
" can you start acting like you're in the University and not still in secondary school " he says keeping the purse beside him.

I raised my middle finger at him and he laughed. Look how we were able to laugh freely.

" have you heard from Olivia? " he asked

" I'm so proud of you... " I laughed
He frowned and asked why.

" you didn't call her Anita "

" well that's because the name finally sticks in.. Why do I even need to know her name? I only need to know yours not hers " he defends

" well, I haven't heard a word from her.. I somehow want her to come back to her senses, I miss her " it was the truth, I really missed her.

He smiled at me and opened his arms "come let daddy hug you"
I laughed but didn't stand up and that made him come towards me wrapping his hands round me, I didn't push him, I let him keep me warm and when I rubbed my face on his chest, I giggled and showed him where my eye shadow had stained his shirt.
The frown on his face was really funny.

"you don't believe me, do you? " he asked.

" believe what? "

" I told Nkechi, I love you.. "

" Okay "

" don't okay me " he frowned.

" Okay " what was I supposed to say.

" admit it, you have feels for me " he smirked.

" even if you think I do.... I don't know if I know "
Big lie, I loved this idiot so much and I loved Fisayo too.... Maybe!

He studied my face for a while then laughed non stop.
" you're crazy " I say pushing him away from me.

I took off my hair packer and let my hair fall to my shoulder.

" your hair's a mess " he sighs.

" no it's not " it wasn't a mess at all.

" you're still beautiful tho but hold on, let me brush it for you, you look like a ghost " he stood up heading to the room. Some seconds later, he came back with this hair brush.

" what do you want to do with that?"

"brush your brain of course "

" whose hair brush is that? "I finally asked after wondering why he takes pleasure in frustrating somebody.

" honestly, I don't know... It might be Yvonne's, Gloria's, Esther's.. I don't know ".

The look on my face showed I was beyond disgusted.

" I no longer have anything to do with them, I cut off ties with those girls I mentioned" he quickly explained

"fine but you're not using that thing on my hair, imagine, you don't even know who the owner is "
I brought out my own hair brush from my purse since my room is like in my purse.

" if you insist on messing with my hair, here, use this " I instructed handing the brush to him.
I didn't see any reason for him to help with my hair since it was still looking nice but Timi being Timi insisted that the hair was a mess so I just let him do his thing.

I liked the feel of his hand occasionally touching my forehead : whenever he tried to put my head in the position he was comfortable with.

We joked about different things and I made several snap chat videos.
I quickly blocked Fisayo from seeing my status and then went ahead to post some videos and pictures we just made.

After he brushed my hair which was of no use, I got tired for no reason and decided to sleep.
I pushed him off making him sit back on the chair and placed my head on his laps.
Smiling to myself, I wondered if this was considered cheating. I found happiness with Timi which I still didn't find with Fisayo.
Or I probably found happiness with Fisayo but maybe my attachment to this annoying guy here has blinded my eyes.

I glanced up at him, he was using his phone with one hand, with the other he was stroking my hair.
Sleeping wouldn't be bad.

"I'm going out "

Since Aisha's heart break, she had refused to go out willingly even to classes, we'd have to beg her to go.
The other times she'd manage to go out would be when Josh comes to force her to. But now, she decided to 'go out'

She and Josh had been getting along quite well.

"where to? " Rona queries

"can't I go out again? " she asked angrily.

" no na, you that we used to beg to even go and bathe to go to classes, it's surprising that you decide to even make up willingly " Debra shrugged.

" or are you going to see..... Somebody " I teased, she was getting annoyed and it was hilarious.

" stop it " she growled.

" do you think we know the 'somebody' ? " Debra asked with a serious face.

" no, I don't think so ... Who could it be? " I played along.

" hmmmm " we both draw

" are you guys serious, it's obviously Joshua she wants to see" Rona says

Debra hit her head in annoyance, I grumbled and fell back to the bed, we knew it was Josh but Rona had to ruin our fun.

"Josh... It's Josh not Joshua and I'm not going to see him " she hissed putting her phone and other things in her bag.

"so Aisha can finally hang out with guys that are not the sons of ministers and governors? I need to pay my tithe because of this testimony" Debra says dabbing the tears that were not in her eyes.

"I don't care what you guys think.. It's nothing serious just that he's nice and stuff " Aisha explained.

" and stuff? " I ask.

" it's that 'and stuff' I want to know more about " Debra laughed making Aisha's face harden the more.

Just then, Josh knocked and entered adding more to our fun.

" heyy girls " he greeted. Debra and I smiled at him like way too much. Rona carefully studied him as usual while Anu smiled at him.

" noooo, you shouldn't have come here, I told you I would meet you downstairs " Aisha cried trying to push him out.

" what? I just came to get you... Are you ready? " he asked softly.
Debra and I dramatically squealed and I was so sure if Aisha had the chance, she'd kill us.
She gave us this harsh look before pulling Josh behind her.

After they left we kept on laughing. It was so nice to see Aisha finally moving on and with a guy from a different background entirely.

"that guy looks broke " Debra says.

"he is" I agreed.

"must you condemn? " it was Rona.

" she was only pointing out " I frowned.

" you girls should know I'm like older than you both and I'm more experienced.... Being 21 is being experienced and I like to advise young girls......

She was cut short by her phone which was ringing, we were glad she went to pick it.

"your friend is abnormal " Debra quietly say to Anu.

Anu smiled "I wouldn't say abnormal, she's just.... You know, a talkative ".

We all agreed.

I had tried reaching Nk but she was always avoiding me. I wanted her to know that I wouldn't want Timi to come between our friendship but she wouldn't give me the chance.

Anu asked me to try harder and settle every beef she might want to have with me and that was exactly what I wanted to do, because according to Rona, 'fighting over a guy is so shameless and ungodly '.

Debra accompanied me to Nk's hostel's block.

"their block isn't as fine as ours " Debra says as we went upstairs.

" sssh, you're sounding like Aisha " I frowned

She laughed " at least I didn't say the block looks cheap... That's Aisha "

I knocked on the door expecting the worse to happen.
I knocked thrice and when Debra was suggesting we slam the door bad bad, somebody opened it.

" yes?" the girl asked rudely. Nk's roomie.

"is Nk in? " I asked ignoring her attitude.

" yes and I don't think she wants to see you so if you can please go away, I'll appreciate it " she answers still with the attitude.

I was thinking of what to say back when Debra pushed the girl away from the door " Wetin dey worry this one? She said she wants to see Nk and you're saying another thing ".

I frowned at Debra but still walked into the room. Nk was on her bed, the other beds were empty, it was a good thing, at leave there wouldn't be much intrusion from her other room mates.

" I would report you to the hostel management, you're going against the rules " the girl threatened

"the worse they would do is ask me to pay a fine and I'll gladly pay and even pay another in advance for the future rule I'll still break sef" Debra hissed.

"we just need to talk to her, we'll be out in some minutes " I explained to the girl.
Turning to Nk, she was seated on the bed, totally ignoring us.

" Nk, I came to see you " I say

" yeah, you have " she says dryly.
Debra sighed, she was losing her patience already.

" I don't know why you're angry at me, I already explained everything to you " I almost yelled.

" and you expect me to just forgive and forget? " she raised her voice.

" nobody is shouting, you shouldn't " Debra warns. Why did I bring Debra here ???

" it's not your business, so please stay out of it " she fired.

Debra clapped "Wait ohh, who is this one talking to? See, ask Benita, I am not normal and I would gladly release that abnormality on you.... She came to apologise, she didn't even offend you and you're still giving attitudes... Na wa ohh"

"Benita, let's get out of here jhor " Debra yelled.

I should have come with Rona.

" I don't have the time, Benny let's go.... You know what, I'll be waiting for you just out there, if anybody messes with you, call my name " she instructs before leaving the room. Good.

" Nkechi, I'm so sorry for everything that happened, honestly you're a nice person and.....

"no no, it's fine.... I just find it hard to forget everything" she shrugged.

"and please stop avoiding me " why was I begging again?

She smiled "Okay".... Easy?

"Thank you " I smiled back "I would be on my way now"

She nodded and waved me goodbye. I didn't bother to look at her room mate.
I walked up to Deb, held her hand and pulled her to go, she gave in but turned back to assure the other girl

"just pray me and you don't come across each other in a lonely place "
