Chapter Three: Change
"There are people out there who starve, who don't have shelter or don't get the education they need. And there are also people who have way too much money that they don't even know what to do with it, they think the world revolves around them and they can get away with anything with money and power." -Zamzam Amin, IASWAD.
CHAPTER THREE: Change
Zamzam Amin
I have six months to make the jock change his ways. I know that I can do it and show him there's more to life than looks. It's just going to be... challenging. I got out of my car and walked up the steps to our house. My family and I live in a brownstone house which is connected to many other houses as well.
The only people that were actually home were Grams and Isa. They're usually here around this time. "Salam!" I called out as I set my keys and backpack down.
I walked inside the living room and not to my surprise Amir was siting with Isa watching football. Boys, I thought to myself with a roll of my eyes. "Hey Smurf." Amir said as he stuffed popcorn into his mouth. "Just eat your popcorn Girraffe." I replied as I sat down on the couch. Remind me again why I'm best friends with this guy?
"Hey Grams said that she can't cook food today so you have to." Isa stated as he grabbed some popcorn. I swear to you this boy is constantly talking about food. Then again us Amin's love our food. I love food but I don't love cooking it. I mean standing over the hot stove for an hour? No thank you. "Let's order food. I really don't feel like cooking!" I whined. And plus my food isn't that good... Okay fine I got all of my cooking skills from my mom and grandma. I know how to cook a lot of different types of food but that doesn't mean I enjoy making them. Maybe on some occasions I do, but not always.
Reluctantly Isa got out his phone and started dialing a number. I'm guessing he's ordering either Chinese food or pizza, that boy can't get enough of either of those. Suddenly my phone buzzed in my pocket so I took it out. It was a text from an unknown number... Weird.
Unknown: Hey Scarfy! I stole your phone earlier when you weren't looking and got your number. You better save my number! If u don't I will steal your phone again and save it for you under Mr.Sexy! Anyways don't forget about our deal! I'm really looking forward to you being my slave for 12 months!
I stared at the text in annoyance. Who does he think he is? Mr.Sexy? Please! I quickly started texting back.
Me: Good luck because it's not going to happen!
Automatically I got a text back.
Unknown: You know it is ;) Anyways meet me tomorrow by the football field! I'm not taking no for an answer! P.s, you should really lock your phone, tsk.
I turned off the screen of my phone and placed it beside me. It's better not replying to him that way I can't get annoyed. "Who ya textin'?" Amir asked giving me a weird look. I just now noticed that Isa had left the living room. "No one." I replied grabbing the remote and turning on Teen Wolf. Ohh Tyler Posey and Dylan O'Brien...
"Hey you can't lie to me remember? I'm your best friend. I could read you like a book." He gave me a knowing look. It's true this boy knows me all too well. I guess that's what happens when you've known someone all of your life. "It's seriously nothing now be quiet. I want to watch my Teen Wolf!" I turned the volume up higher and grabbed the popcorn from him. "What's so good about this show anyways?"
Did he seriously just ask that!? The easier question would be what isn't good about this show? Nothing! Because all of it is good. Especially the people they chose to play these characters... Mashallah. Okay I'm so into my fangirl mode right now I need to cool it. "I ordered three boxes off pizza." Isa said as he laid back down on the couch.
"You and your pizza..." Amir said with a sigh.
"That's right I love my pizza."
I rolled my eyes at them.
These boys!

Putting my light brown hair into a bun, I walked into the bathroom to freshen up before I go to sleep. Tomorrow is definitely going to be a long day for me with that way too conceited jerk. It's okay because soon enough I will get him to change his ways.
Step 1 of the plan: Get him to look around and see the world as it is, not how he thinks it is.
All I really want him to do is pay attention to the people around him. I know what you guys are probably thinking, why does she care so much? The thing is I don't care about him. I just really hate cocky and conceited people whom think the world revolves around them. There are people out there who starve, who don't have shelter or don't get the education they need. And there are also people who have way too much money that they don't even know what to do with it, they think the world revolves around them and they can get away with anything with money and power. [Talking about Donald Trump⬆️]
The world is corrupt because of these people! And ever since I was little I was taught that if I ever saw something that was wrong to make it right. To be the change that I wanted to see. I'm a take action kind of girl because actions do speak louder than words. My mom always taught me to be the kind of person that others want to follow. To be the best person I could be. I promised her that I would and I will keep that promise no matter what In Shaa Allah.
Grabbing my tooth brush, I quickly brush my teeth and walk out. I walked inside my room and laid down on my bed.
In Shaa Allah tomorrow won't be that bad, I thought to myself as I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

"Zam! Wake up you're going to be late for school!" I felt someone tug on my comforter. Groaning, I tossed and turned in my bed. Why can't this person leave me alone! "Don't make me pour water on you!" Grams threatened. I quickly jumped and got out of bed. When she says she'll do something she really will do it. Last time I over slept she poured ice cold water all over me! Let's just say that I wasn't in a good mood the rest of the day. "I'm UP!" I shouted as I ran to the bathroom.
After I had brushed my teeth and got dressed I rushed out of my house and started driving to school.
Here goes nothing...

The first half of school flew by really quickly which I couldn't be more thankful for. Right now I'm at in lunch sitting and eating my sandwich when a text came my way.
Mr Cocky: Hey meet me by the bleachers now at the football field!
Bossy much?
Mr Cocky: Is that sandwich good?
I turned around and saw him sitting right behind me with his group of friends. We made eye contact with each other, he smiled at at me while I glared at him. I'm not gonna deny it that his smile was breathtaking. I shook my head and turned back around.
Mr Cocky: What's with the death glare chica?
Chica!?
Me: Do you have anything better to do other than annoy me!?
Mr Cocky: Actually, I do and it is winning. Now my future slave, come meet me by the bleachers. I'm going to go right now so you wait until I'm completely out of the cafeteria. Wouldn't want people making rumors about us now would we?
I turned around and saw him walk out of the cafeteria. After waiting a couple of minutes I walked towards the football field. Surely he was sitting on the bleacher with his hands in his pockets, staring at the crystal blue sky. I wonder what he's thinking...
I silently walked up to where he was and sat down on the bleachers. "What is it?" I asked in an annoyed tone.
"Hello to you too!"
"Hi." I gave him a fake smile. "Now what is it!?"
He leaned back as his hands dug further into his jeans. He seriously looks like he's in the middle of a photo shoot right now. Dang, I understand why all these girls go crazy for him! His facial features are gorgeous but then everything goes downhill once he opens his mouth. Just proves that personality is more important than looks.
"So when are we going to start?" He asked, raising his eyebrows at me.
"Today, after we're done working on our project. You, me and my brother are going to the homeless shelter." I informed him. Last night I told Isa about the bet and he suggested that we go to the homeless shelter. Adam gave me a look of shock as he comprehended what I said. "Homeless shelter?"
"Yup!" I said popping the 'P'.
"You're going and I don't take no for an answer!" I said as I got up and dusted my shukah. Now it was my turn to smirk at him. Let's see how the jock reacts to seeing those homeless people. That should break him. If not all together than a little bit.
Shukah: Another word for Abaya or a long sleeved dress.
