JUNE 2017,

"am I the only one who finds this plane shake" abdallah spoke

"Welcome to Nigeria, 'fellas" adnan spoke smiling derisively

As the plane landed, they moved to the lounge, they moved to their father as soon as they spotted him.

"Its about time that you are all finally here, i promise you would get to cope with everything in the mean time, Nigeria is an interesting country, it won't be that difficult" he stopped to look at Amir, who's busy looking at some Nigerian family" welcome home children'' Ibrahim (father) added

They entered the black SUV car and left for their house in Maitama District Abuja. Their house, a two floor building with ten bedrooms and eight living rooms, having bathrooms each for the bedrooms and toilets for the living rooms added with two kitchens, store, a garage, gymnasium, a pool, a Library and a basements.

Their family, family of Ibrahim alkali, with seven children. Fahad who's 20, Hadiza 18, Adnan 16, Amir and Amirah 14, Hannah 11, and the last born Abdallah who's 8. The family have lived in Nigeria for four years since before the birth of Fahad, they later left Nigeria to England when Adnan was two years older. They gave birth to the twins after two years of living there, three years and Hannah, and last after two years Abdallah.

After 14years of living in England, the parents decided to move back to their hometown, temporarily.

Their father Ibrahim was born and raised in katsina -a beautiful state in the Northwest part of Nigeria, a state where the hausa-fulani's are. With his two siblings -a sister and a brother, Fatima and Aliyu.

Their mother bilkisu who's maternally Fulani and paternally Hausa was born in Adamawa but raised in katsina with her only sibling and brother abdulazeez.

They all sat in the living room waiting for their father to show them to the house.

...he came

"There are at least ten bedrooms, three downstairs and seven upstairs. Living rooms of eight three downstair five upstairs, two kitchens one up and one down, a store downstairs, gymnasium, library, a basement, a pool outside at the backyard....

.....Two of the bedrooms downstairs are linked with the living room which is white, pure white. That's for Adnan and Fahad.....

....The last bedroom downstairs is empty, and one of the living rooms is the biggest of all which is black and silver, it has the paired marble curvy staircase with it, the other one is small which is sea blue colour. The dinning area is near the sea blued living room which is blue, just blue. The kitchen which is sandy brown is also near the dinning area which all are at the far right end of the house. Its in the dinning area that has the glass door leading to the backyard where the pool is. The garage also at the back. But the gym is at the left side towards Fahad and Adnans area. That's for the downstairs.....

.....the twins have the wooden brown parlor with two bedrooms in it, Hadiza's room is near the twins which has the lilac parlor. The library is towards the twins and Hadiza's room at the left side....

....The little ones Hannah and Abdallah have the green parlor with two bedrooms in it near your mothers room which is at the right with her red parlor, at the right.....

....it is at the same right my room is located with my big gutter green parlor with my study....

....the three staircases, the curvy paired marble staircase which is in the black and silver living room leads to all the parts of the house upstairs, the single transparent staircase which is at the left part of the house downstairs leads to the left part of the house upstairs, the white oak staircase leads in the sea blued living room leads to the kitchen upstairs and your mother's parlor....

....the basement is there for the artist, the pool for the swimmers, the gym for the men, the store for your bicylcles, scooters and all those rubbish, the library for the bookworms and for assignments....

....WiFi for your gadgets are abled...."

He finished taking a deep breathe, indeed the house is quite massive

"Everyone get ready, we have places to go by 8pm, farewell" he bid and everyone left for their sides.

Amirah went upstairs leading the same way her father did explained, together with her twin Amir trailing behind her, she glide the wooden slide Open, encountering a medium level brown parlor with two coffee brown sofa with a couch and a milk color cushion. A sandy brown shaggy carpet placed at the centre with a small wooden table on it. With the cream curtains , different kinds of frames and the Pippins of lights with the shade if sunburned color made the parlor more presently,

She took left and pushed Amir's door open, revealing his blur blue bedroom. The room looks quite presentable for a 14year old boy. Leaving his room to hers, a room for every 14year girl's wish although its in yellow, her favorite colour...

What she adores most is her shelf and closet.

Amirah jumped onto her waterbed, relaxing for a minute then got into the toilet for a bubble bath in her jacuzzi. She came out in a robe and got into her closet to choose what to wear, only to be revealed with some clothes which she once saw some people wore while they were in the car.

'Like hell, I aren't wearing this fabrics' she muttered

She left the room with only a robe to meet her mother only to see Amir, Hannah, abdallah, and Adnan having the same complaints. After some minutes of arguments, they all went back to discover the other part of the closet is filled with the English outfits they want.

She picked up a ripped out jeans with a sleeveless shirt paired with a denim jacket on and rolled a peach scarf into a turban. She brought out her makeup kit and applied the eyes and the lips

Grabbing her Chanel bag, she left her room to the last floor, only to meet Amir seated eating pizza with his ash pants and a paired shirt with a red P-cap on using his iphone . She sat down beside him, took out a piece of pizza from the box written 'dominos pizza' on it, and brought out her iPhone.

"Amirah do me the great honor and remove your trouser, this is Nigeria" her mother said, she pouted and went on to change her outfit into a black P-jeans with a black tank top and a white leather jacket leaving her peach turban.

"So are you guys ready" their father said as Adnan came out of his room with blue jeans and a white shirt plus a Navy blue P-cap, Hannah with a short dress that reached to her mid-thigh with a leggings and a turban cap, and abdallah wearing zebra printed shorts with a white shirt.

Amirah slide her vans, Hannah her sandals, Adnan and Amir slide her their addidas slides and Abdallah with his sneakers, and into their black Audi they went.

____

"I do not guarantee meeting the people we haven't met before as our cousins' a good idea" Amirah whispered at Adnan

"Trust me, I don't know too" Adnan said using his Iphone

"Amir, what do you suggest" Amirah said turning towards Amir.

"Cut the crap" Amir said and Amirah elbowed him

"Jerk" she muttered

Truth be told, Amir doesn't care about meeting his cousins and neither does Adnan, Adnan being Adnan would never answer a question you ask, he either answers incorrectly or indirectly but being Amir a jackass, he will just waste your time saying rubbish things or will shut you up.

"Listen to me kids, we are going to meet my brother first''

"Dad we are not kids" Adnan spoke annoyed.

"Adnan" the father said In a warning tone "now I suggest you listen to me attentively, try real hard and not speak English to their parents, as for the children, speak whatever you wish. Plus try and look like Nigerians kids, after all you are Nigerians." He finished

" well then, we suggest you tell us what to Say" Adnan suggested

"For, trust me, if you don't want disappointment" Amir added

Trust me when I tell you these kids do not even know what 'come' means in Hausa or Fulani language

"Why can't we speak English, mother" abdallah asked.

"we are in Nigeria, and in Nigeria you speak your mother language, plus don't call me mother.. try mummy"

"Okay mummy, tell us how to greet in your language" Amirah spoke in a witty tone.

"Ina wuni for good afternoon, in kwana for good morning, se anjima till we meet"

"Bloody hell" they all shouted in unison

"I honestly cannot say any of those mot-mummy " Hannah spoke defensively.

"You must, now all of you, repeat after me "

After they have finished memorising the words, they entered the house..

"Middle classified" Amir whispered at Amirah and she shrugged

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un " as the saying left the lady's lips, they all understood provided it's Arabic which says 'we are his(Allah), and to him we shall return'

"Yau kune a gidana(truly, you are the ones at my house today)" from the look at the woman Amir knew she was surprised, surprised may not be the right word, flabbergasted. Although he didn't understand what she said

"Alhaji!!!" Adnan had to put back his earphone, for , he couldn't endure the irritating voice of his uncle's wife.

The husband, their father's brother, their uncle named Aliyu came to be revealed with his greatest surprise, from the look on his face one could tell how extremely happy he is. He went on and hugged his brother.

As for adnan and his siblings stared at them like a show, an interesting one. Their mother who stood with her well plastered smile instantly shot her children a meaningful glare,

And they started to greet them with the words they had memorised.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming, dana yi kodan(I would have threw you a) welcoming party ne." Abdallah furrowed his brows as his uncles words left his mouth, not that he understood what the uncle said but because of his English.

The English isn't bad, its just not pleasant to their ears.

After all the pleasantries, uncle Aliyu called his children- Umar who's 20, Ahmad 18, Haidar 16, Isa 14, and Munirah 11.

"Ina wuni" both umar and Ahmad said, with that they Left

"Ina wuni uncle Ibrahim and aunty bilki(short for Bilkisu). " haidar greeted them then Isa and then Munirah

"Lafiya klau, yara dur sun girma, I have missed a lot indeed" Bilkisu spoke

Adnan, Amir, Amirah, Hannah, and Abdallah sat staring at them without saying a word, what could they possibly say? After all the conversations that went, they didn't catch a word except for words like the ones they memorised in the car.

"Hello lad" adnan caught up Haidar and left the living room together.

"Well that was fast" Hannah whispered at Amira and she nodded in return staring at their strange cousins where as on the other side of the room sat their parents discussing

Isa who just looked up from his phone stared at the twins, Amir who hasn't fathomed the situation yet, and Amira nervously using her phone.

"Hannah come, I will show you to my room" Munirah who just cut off a call said, referring to Hannah of course. Hannah stood up and mouthed 'goodluck' at Amira.

Amira feeling uneasy, wanting to leave the room said"I would go get some water"

Isa nodded Amir not sparing her a glance.

"I would show you to the kitchen" Isa proposed.

'Crap' Amira muttered silently so no one could hear

"Nah, its okay, I could go myself" Amira smiled at Isa.

"I insist"

"Okay" with that the two of them left Amir who's busy using his phone

Typical teenager

"Lead the way" Amira said.

"Oh, so here I am thinking you know the way to the kitchen"

"Yap, I lied" with that they moved to the kitchen,

The kitchen an ash coloured kitchen with a round table at the centre with a sink in it, to the left rests a four door silver fridge. The kitchen looks dark with the black marble tiles and the ash painted walls, the day-light curtains released down.

Isa who's behind switched on the lights which brought out the beauty of the kitchen. He brought out a bottle of water which says nestle and gave it to Amira

"Thanks" she said as she sat on one of the tall stool

"I like your English, its not that kind of English I randomly heard some Nigerians speaking earlier today"

"Well it depends" he stated" and trust me you don't want me speak Nigerian English to you"

"Why?" She questioned

'' you no sabi like am" isa said using the Nigerian English, and she busted out of laughter.

"I see, you are quite getting along without me" Amir who just entered the kitchen spoke.

"Well it isn't too late is it" isa said as he took a stool beside them not forgetting to shake his hand with his.

......

"Tell your dad to bring you to our school, am actually going there for my year 7, we could write the entrance examination together" Munirah suggested

"Well I'd see about th-" before she could finish Munirah's phone buzzed with an incoming musica.

If I tell you say I love you ooo
My money my body na your own o baby
30 billion for the account oo.....

"Heck, what song is this, it's just so...wow" Hannah spoke amazed

"You don't know, Nigerian songs are good" with that she went on to answer the phone call.

,

After so much talks, they left for their home....
