@GayCinnaRoll did some phanart for this story?? Like wow?? How nice is that?? I attached it above or wherever pictures are these days XD

"We need to talk." Phil muttered, standing at his friend's bedroom door. "You're obviously not alright," He held up his phone, showing Dan his Tweet from earlier. "Tell me what's wrong."

"I thought you were meant to be Skyping Noah." Dan mumbled, not looking Phil directly in the eye.

"He cancelled. Said something about being called into work last minute." Phil sat down beside his friend, placing his hand on his knee. Dan nervously glanced down at the hand, too afraid to say anything else. "You need to tell me what's wrong. You haven't been yourself lately and I am worried."

"Don't be."

"I can't help it. You're my best friend and ever since Noah-" Phil stopped himself, realisation hitting him. "You don't like Noah at all... Are you jealous?"

"No. I told you why I don't like him and you didn't believe me. You don't care." Dan stood up, wanting to leave before he started to cry like the pathetic man that he thought he was.

"I do, Dan. Did he... Did he actually blackmail you?"

"Yes. Why would I lie about something like that? He makes you happy and I'd never ever lie about someone you love."

"Oh, Dan..." Phil stood up and opened his arms; Dan ran straight into them. "What did he say?"

"H-He tried to make me isolate myself from you. I was so scared you would find out my secret that I literally did everything he said."

"You could have told me.."

"I couldn't. You were dating him, you're taken. I thought you would hate me if you found out." Dan was beginning to sob and he was completely aware that he was getting Phil's t-shirt wet.

"I'd never hate you. I liked you too."

"Past tense." Dan whispered, so quietly that Phil had to strain to hear it.

"I'm with him now.. I don't really know if I want to be anymore. He sounds like he is so nasty to you."

"Don't break up with him because of me.."

"It's not really your fault.. I mean, if he lied to me about liking you, what else did he lie about? He could be someone completely different to who he told me he was." Tears were slowly filling Phil's eyes but he was quick to wipe them away so Dan didn't see. Dan didn't say anything, he just looking down at the floor, feeling something wet fall down his cheek. Without thinking too much, he lunged forward and tightly hugged his best friend as they both silently cried to themselves. "I'm sorry, Dan... I should have been a better friend."

-

Phil felt numb. His whole body was stiff as he just kept his frozen stare on his wall. It was evening-time and Noah was meant to have called twenty minutes ago. Of course he hadn't. Phil literally jumped when his phone started to ring and he picked it up as quickly as possible. "Phil! I am so sorry, I forgot to call! I was busy-" Noah started to say in what Phil used to think was the most adorable American accent.

"Busy doing what? Going out with your friends? Seeing family? You're always busy." Phil replied, cutting his boyfriend off with his dead, monotonous voice.

"I know. It's not exactly my fault-"

"I never get to talk to you anymore. Is this relationship even anything? I don't even think I even know you. You're not the Noah I believed you to be."

"What is that meant to mean? You know exactly who I am."

"Do I? You blackmailed my friend; you're not the kind person I thought you were."

"Phil-"

"You're disgusting. I don't want you to be my boyfriend anymore-"

"No." Noah simply said, his tone sharp. Whereas Phil was crying and struggling to keep his voice steady, Noah just seemed angry. "You can't say that."

"I-I.." Phil stammered. He swallowed and forced his words out. "I just did."

"No, Phil-"

"I'm sorry." He then hung up.

-

Dan heard soft sobs coming from Phil's room. He pressed his ear against the door and, sure enough, Dan's best friend was crying his heart out. Dan lifted up his fist, knocking lightly. "I don't want to talk to you." Phil managed to say, furiously wiping away his tears.

"Please can I come in? I need to make sure you're okay." Dan mumbled.

"Do I sound okay?"

"No-"

"Then I'm not okay. Now go away."

"I can't just let you cry..." When there was no reply, Dan slowly pushed the door open. Phil was curled up in his colourful blanket, the lines under his eyes matching the purple of his cover. His face was wet from tears, his cheeks having a shine to them. Dan swallowed thickly, watching as his friend moved his hands up to cover his face. "Oh Philly..." Dan whispered so quietly that Phil could only see his friend's lips form the shape of the words. Dan hesitantly sat down next to his friend, who also sat up, still with his face covered.

"I think I broke up with him." Phil mumbled, before letting out a loud, desperate sob. He buried his head into his friend's chest, immediately making it wet.

"Is it my fault?"

"No. It was for the best."

"Are you sure? Phil, no offence but you're a mess." Dan placed a hand on Phil's knee but pulled it back when his friend only tensed up.

"I know but.. I hate him... I hate him, I hate him, I hate him!"

Dan pulled his hand through Phil's hair, gently stroking it as his friend cried into his chest. "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay."

"It's not..."

"It is." Dan glanced down at his friend, knowing that it wasn't okay, but he didn't say anything else.
