Chapter 17
AND HERE I AM PRESENTING THE FINAL CHAPTER *dramatically wipes tear* IT HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL JOURNEY AND THIS IS PROBABLY NOW MY FAVOURITE BOOK I HAVE EVER WRITTEN (I swear I'm not bigheaded)
"Let's go on a date!" Phil said enthusiastically, waving two tickets in the air.
"Where to?" Dan asked, barely looking up from his laptop.
"The zoo!" Phil was grinning widely and Dan glanced at him, sending him a look that said you're so childish but I love you. "They have your favourite animal!"
"What's that?" Dan laughed.
"Llamas!"
"No way!" Dan stood up, grinning widely. "Let's go."
-
"Look at the alpaca!" Dan practically squealed, dragging out the 'o' in look. His eyes were wide, like a child's when you tell them they can buy some ice cream.
"Look what I got.." Phil said, holding out a bag labelled alpaca/llama food. Dan literally let out another of his manliest squeals, taking a handful and feeding it to the alpaca.
"I want to call this one Paul! Oh and that one's Carl!"
"Dan, there are two issues with that. They are alpacas and they are not wearing hats." Dan pouted, feeding the alpaca some more of its food. "The llamas are over there!"
-
"LIONS!" Phil screeched, looking in the enclosure with a wide smile. He started to read some of the information on the boards as his boyfriend watched him admiringly. "They're so cute!"
"They really are." Dan responded, still staring at Phil.
"You know how couples always have cute nicknames?" Phil randomly blurted out. Dan nodded, unsure where Phil was going. "Can mine be lion? Because I'm really scary and fierce!" Phil did an impression of a lion's roar, making Dan laugh loudly.
"Sure?"
"Ah! And yours can be llama!"
"No, no, no, that's okay. I'll just be Dan."
"Okay, Dan."
"Okay, lion." They were both laughing so hard that they barely resembled the depressed men they were just a month or so ago.
-
Sometimes it was hard and Phil would have days where he would just cry and he wouldn't be able to leave his room. Dan would always be there to hold him tight and comfort him with kind words. Noah never came back, neither in nightmares nor in real life.
Their fans supported their relationship completely and were ecstatic when they moved into a larger house. Dan insisted that they should get a dog and.. they did.
It was a Shiba Inu and they loved it very much.
They got married and even considered adopting a child.
They were happy. Very happy.
Despite all that happened and all the hardships they had gone through, they ended up happy.
The moral of this story is, no matter how hard things get, it will always get better. It might take a long time but, eventually, it will go away. There are always people who stick by you no matter what and, like Dan to Phil, they'll be there to hug you every step of the way. Even if they aren't with you physically, they'll always be in your heart.
You will always have someone. Even when you feel like you have no one.
THE END!
