Stranded
I woke up on a beach. I was sprawled out, with my mouth pressed in the wet sand. That was when I realized that there was an arm over me.
It was Chuck! He looked like he had dragged me to the shore.
I got up and surveyed myself. My cute jean shorts and white blouse were all tore up and wet. The jeans were ripped and hardly offered any cover. You could almost see my butt, but thankfully not.
I looked at where I was. Suddenly it all came back to me. The ship! It had sunk! My parents!
I sat down on the sloped beach, my shoulders sagging, and started to weep. Then weeping turned to screaming. They were gone! I would never see them again! And I was stranded on this island with Chuck? That wasn't really a bad thing, but there was no one else, we'd have to survive here on our own and we'd surely die, we had no resources, we were just two teens, vulnerable teens who knew nothing about survival, and -
I felt a hand on my shoulder. The touch felt like magic, instantly spreading comfort and peace to every part of my body. My screaming and weeping ceased to sniffles.
"What are we going to do?" I stated simply.
"Wash off, for now. Then try to problem solve from there?" His deep voice seemed so friendly and protective.
"It's just..." I trailed off. Just what? That I had lost everything I had ever known? That I was isolated here with only one human being?
After a minute, I noticed his hand was still on my shoulder. He was so nice and caring, not like those other dumb jocks at our school. I only noticed him for being hot, but I never noticed this side to him. He wasn't the smartest, but was an A in Linear Algebra going to help us now?
"O-Ok," I stated, and tried to get up. My legs immediately gave in. They felt so sore.
I tried to stretch them out. That worked, but it felt like stretching out metal. But after a few minutes, my legs had come back to life and I could walk.
I then tried to notice everything. I was aware of birds chirping. That meant that there was probably meat that could be eaten. I turned around and saw a thin forest. I couldn't see the end of the island, though. I decided to take a walk.
Chuck followed wordlessly. We walked for an hour; I finally saw the edge of the island. The island sloped into a type of small cliff, and under it was the ocean water. I walked to the top of the hill(/cliff - whatever you wanna call it) and sat down.
It was amazing. The calming scent of the ocean surrounded me on all sides; when I looked ahead, all I could see was ocean. The glint of the sun on the sea made a beautiful golden line.
But then I noticed something else. There were no boats or planes - just ocean. No hope of rescue. We were isolated.
