chapter 36
"I meant to ask you last week - how was your night with Taylor? Things seem... a lot better," Georgie asked as she passed Tate's lead to Leia, both girls dawning sunglasses and caps as they stepped out into the streets surrounding their hotel.
The days between her and Taylor's reconnection in the Ohio hotel had flown quickly, the couple spending the entire week cooped up together in Taylor's hotel in Maryland. Since the pop-star's touring production had rented out the top few floors of the hotels for the entire crew and team (with the top floor exclusively for Taylor), no one was around to bat an eyelid at Taylor and Leia being in the same room - mainly because only a select few were aware.
Leia had text Georgie that morning to let her know that she was off to take Tate for his morning walk and had been surprised when her younger sister had said she wanted to come too. It wasn't often Georgie was functioning before 10am, let along wanting to do the morning walk with the dog.
"Good, yeah," Leia said, nodding as she thought about the song Taylor had played for her, a small smile on her lips. "Very good."
Georgie raised an eyebrow, her suspicion piqued by Leia's uncharacteristically brief response.
"Very good, huh? Care to elaborate on that?" she prodded, her voice laced with a hint of mischief. She nudged Leia playfully with her elbow as they strolled down the sun-dappled sidewalk, Tate trotting happily ahead of them.
Leia hesitated, her fingers absently toying with Tate's leash. The morning air was crisp, carrying the scent of freshly baked bread from a nearby cafe.
"Nah, I don't think I will," Leia admitted after a moment, wanting to just keep that memory to themselves for a change. "But it was good. I feel good."
"What time do we need to be going to the stadium today?" Georgie asked, changing the topic and looking down at her watch. Leia mused her lips, nodding as they naturally both turned on the spot and started to head back towards the hotel.
"10am, I think," Leia replied, a coy smile on her face. "Sorry, Tate - looks like you'll need to get your walk in at the stadium. I need to be there earlier today cause Taylor wants to rehearse Shake It Off with me, and I need to try on my outfit for it - it's one of the ones they made as a backup for her but she doesn't want to wear it."
Georgie nodded before faltering in her step, blinking hard for a second as she turned to look at Leia in a double take. A grin spread on her lips, an excited laugh falling from them.
"No fucking way," Georgie squealed at the knowledge that her sister was joining the other three for shake it off, failing to notice the few fans that were on the other side of the street turning to look at them at the noise that fell from her lips.
Leia shot her a side look as soon as they heard the excited gasps from the other side, knowing that they were about to be delayed by the impromptu meeting. Despite her time obligations, Leia wouldn't just walk past them - not when everything she did was linked to Taylor's tour now.
The fans had already spotted them and were now hurrying across the street, their faces alight with excitement. Leia took a deep breath, plastering on her best smile as she prepared to greet them.
"Nice one, George," she muttered, passing the lead over to her sister as Tate turned to look at the small group rushing towards them. She gave Georgie a subtle nudge, reminding her to keep her cool.
"Hi there!" Leia greeted warmly, her voice carrying the same melodic quality it did on stage. "How are you all doing this morning?"
The small group of fans, three teenage girls and a guy, practically vibrated with excitement as soon as her mouth opened. One of the girls, sporting a handmade reputation t-shirt, stepped forward first, clearly the more confident of the quartet.
"Oh my gosh, Leia! We can't believe it's really you!" she gushed, her words tumbling out in a rush. "And Tate! And GEORGIE!"
Leia's smile widened, genuinely touched by their enthusiasm. She glanced at Georgie, who was trying to maintain a cool demeanour but couldn't quite hide the pleased glint in her eyes. Her sister wasn't someone who had gotten to see this side of things often, so Leia was glad that it was a positive experience.
"It's so nice to meet you all," Leia said warmly. "Are you excited for the show tonight?"
The group nodded vigorously, their words overlapping in a chorus of excitement. Leia listened attentively, her eyes sparkling as she engaged with each fan. She signed a few autographs and posed for selfies, making sure to include Georgie in some of the photos.
"We're actually all in different parts of the stadium," the boy admitted, when Leia had asked where they were watching the show from. "We weren't able to get tickets together so just decided we'd rather sit by ourselves than miss out."
As they chatted, Leia couldn't help but notice the time ticking away. She knew Taylor would be waiting, and the thought of potentially disappointing her sent a flutter of anxiety through her chest as she tried to think how she could end this encounter without looking rude.
"I hate to cut this short," Leia said apologetically, "but we really need to get back. I've got rehearsal this morning and I'm already running late... tell you what, I'd love to see your posts from the show though. Remind me of your social handles and where you're all sitting?"
Georgie tried to compress a smile on her lips as she realised what her sister was planning, even if the four in front of them were still too stunned to catch on. Leia typed away on her notes app as she took the details of the four, before finally excusing her, Tate and Georgie.
The trio darted back to the hotel, Georgie a lot more careful about squealing and shouting out-loud. They got to the back entrance just as Azul stepped out, his phone pressed to his ear as he took a drag of a cigarette.
"That'll kill you," Georgie teased him, the security guard rolling his eyes as he pulled the phone away from his ear and looked at his watch.
"You need to be back down here in no more than eight minutes," Azul told them, a sarcastic smile on his lips. "Leave Tate here, and I'll get him settled into the car. Riv's already waiting in the back and seems Miss Paine is also joining you too."
Leia and Georgie nodded, passing over Tate's lead to the security as they headed up the backstairs towards their rooms. Just as they reached the door to their conjoining rooms, Leia turned to look at Georgie with a confused look on her face.
"Did Azul just call Riven, 'Riv'?"
_____
Leia stretched out her muscles as she moved back and forth on the B-stage, warming up her body as she prepared for their run-through of Shake It Off with her included. She'd already had her outfit fitting that morning as soon as they arrived to the stadium, excited that they were performing two shows here instead of just the one that they'd done in the past two cities.
Riven, always the delight, was perched on the edge of the stage with her water bottle in his hands as he and Tree spoke to Leia while they waited on Taylor to appear. The dancers around them were already running through various steps of other songs, and Charli and Camila weren't joining the rehearsal since they'd been doing this every night so far.
"They've agreed to issue a joint statement this afternoon," Riven informed Leia, Tree nodding as she listened to what he had to say. Leia wasn't her responsibility, but it was good for the senior professional to hear their PR strategy since her and Taylor were linked professionally and privately. "No bad feelings, no wrong doing, Zaria called it quits-"
"Ouch," Leia teased, Riven shooting her a short glare as he continued.
"- because of the distance of her shooting away and you touring with Taylor. You're still good friends and will continue to support each other's endeavours in a friendly manner."
Leia nodded, absorbing the information as she continued her stretches. The familiar buzz of pre-performance energy coursed through her veins, mingling with a hint of nervousness at the thought of performing alongside Taylor.
"Sounds good to me," she said, reaching down to touch her toes. "As long as Zaria's okay with it."
"It's the best solution for everyone involved," Tree agreed, nodding at Riven who smiled proudly at him. Leia watched the interaction with a small smile on her lips, knowing that Riven strongly looked up to the powerhouse of publicity standing in front of him. "Clean, simple, and it leaves no room for speculation."
Tree's phone buzzed, and she glanced at the screen before looking up with a slight smirk.
"Taylor's on her way over. Hope you're all stretched up, Leia."
Almost as if Tree had been instructed to order her arrival, Taylor appeared from the back of the stadium on a golf cart, deep in conversation with one of the stage managers that were driving. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a messy bun, and she wore simple black dance clothes that somehow still managed to look effortlessly chic. Drew, who was on the back of the golf cart, got off with a smile towards Azul.
As if sensing Leia's gaze, Taylor looked up, her blue eyes locking with Leia's. A warm smile spread across her face, and she quickly wrapped up her conversation before making her way over to the B-stage.
"Sorry I'm late," Taylor said as she approached, her voice carrying a mix of apology and excitement. "All good?"
Riven and Tree exchanged a glance before stepping back, giving the performers their space. Leia felt a flutter of butterflies in her stomach as Taylor came to stand beside her, close enough that their arms brushed.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Leia replied, trying to keep her voice steady despite the electricity she felt at Taylor's proximity. "Though I'm not sure I can match your energy on this one."
"Don't sell yourself short, Hudson. I've seen you... perform. You've got more than enough energy to keep up."
Tree's warning glance towards Taylor was enough for the blonde to know the double-meaning was not very subtle. Leia rolled her eyes, avoiding looking at Georgie who was laughing beside Riven. At this point, Leia would be surprised if the crew and dancers didn't suspect there was something going on between them - but if anyone did think anything, they'd never mentioned it.
"Do you mind if Lana and her team film the rehearsal?"
Leia raised her eyebrows in surprise at the question. She didn't mind at all, but she was surprised that Taylor's documentary director was even interested in capturing what was likely to be the equivalent of watching a duck take its first steps on ice.
"Yeah, that's chill," Leia replied, smiling softly at Taylor who seemed relieved at her response. "You know I don't mind any of that."
As the opening notes of "Shake It Off" began to play, Leia took a deep breath, centering herself. This was it - her first time performing with Taylor on stage, even if it was just a rehearsal. She felt Taylor's hand brush against hers, a subtle gesture of support and encouragement.
"Just have fun with it," Taylor murmured, just before the first verse kicked in. "You come in with Charli and Camila remember, just after the first chorus. Plenty of time to hype yourself up. Charli first, then Camila and then you."
With a grin, Leia launched into the choreography alongside Taylor, their voices blending seamlessly as they sang. As they moved across the stage, Leia found herself getting lost in the music, in the joy of performing with someone she admired so deeply.
"But I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop grooving. It's like I got this music in my mind, saying it's gonna be alright!"
Taylor yelled out in joy as Leia sang, the girl laughing as they danced in step. She already knew that the fans who were sitting outside ready for the show tonight would be tweeting that they were sound-checking shake it off, and that was why they'd turned Leia's mic down.
They wanted it to be a surprise, but Taylor's loud laugh in the microphone would likely have those outside wondering what was going on.
For a moment, the rest of the world faded away. There was no stadium, no upcoming shows, no PR statements to worry about. There was just Taylor and Leia, two artists sharing their passion for music, their voices and movements in perfect sync.
As they finished the song, both Taylor and Leia were breathless and grinning. The energy between them was electric, and Leia could feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins. She turned to Taylor, her eyes shining with excitement, almost like they were the only ones there.
"That was..." Leia started, struggling to find the right words.
"Amazing," Taylor finished for her, reaching out to squeeze Leia's hand. "You were incredible. I knew you'd nail it."
From the side of the stage, Georgie let out a whoop of approval, clapping enthusiastically. Riven and Tree exchanged pleased glances, while Lana's camera crew continued to film, capturing the genuine moment of joy between the two performers.
Leia felt a blush creep up her cheeks, but before she could respond, Riven was calling her over to discuss some last-minute details about the upcoming show. As she walked away, she could feel Taylor's eyes on her, and she couldn't help but smile to herself.
She turned to look at Riven as they walked towards where Azul was sitting with Georgie, her eyes sparkling as she quirked her lips a little.
"So, when were you going to tell me your mystery man is my bodyguard?"
Riven's feet planted to the floor as he ground to a halt, his mouth gaping wide as he turned to look at his client with an incredulous look. He stammered and stuttered a few incoherent words, his face going bright red as he tried to process her words.
He glanced nervously back at Azul, who was now watching them with interest from across the set-up chairs on the floor.
"I... what? How did you...?" Riven sputtered, running a hand through his hair.
"Come on, Riv. I'm not blind. The way you two look at each other, always being already at the car in the mornings before everyone else, the little inside jokes... and Azul calling you 'Riv' this morning kind of sealed my suspicion."
Riven let out a long sigh, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
"Okay, fine. You got me. We've been seeing each other for a... good amount of time. I was going to tell you, I swear. I just... I wanted to make sure it was serious before I said anything."
Leia's expression softened. She reached out and gave Riven's arm a gentle squeeze.
"Hey, I'm happy for you. Really. Azul's a great guy."
"He is," Riven agreed, a small smile playing at his lips. "I just hope this doesn't make things weird. I know he's your security and I'm your publicist..."
"Are you kidding?" Leia laughed. "If anything, it makes me feel safer knowing my publicist and my bodyguard are in sync. Just... maybe try to keep the googly eyes to a minimum during work hours, okay?"
As they continued walking towards Georgie and Azul, Leia couldn't help but glance back at Taylor, who was now in deep conversation with Tree. The blonde caught her eye and winked, sending a flutter through Leia's stomach.
"Besides, I don't think I have any right to lecture people about mixing work and pleasure..."
____
Leia leaned against Scott as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, getting ready to walk with the girl into the crowd and throw out some guitar picks. Austin was standing beside them, Tree and one of the Taylor Nation team at his side as Leia showed him the profile photos on her phone.
"Yeah, so just those four - and they should all be sitting by themselves," Leia informed the duo, Scott chatting to Andrea who was standing on his other side. "Three girls, one guy. I've just text you their seat details, Aust. Andrea and Tree are gonna speak to the one in the floor section but if you guys can do the other three, that'll be great."
Austin nodded, smiling gently at the girl he was starting to see as a second sister.
"You got it," he fake saluted, causing them all to laugh. "Georgie is going to come with me, if that's cool?"
"Sure thing," Leia nodded.
Truthfully, she had no concerns about her sister joining Austin on his stadium travels. The two of them had formed a two-person club in the weeks since Leia had joined the tour - the 'Less-famous Yet Somewhat Famous Siblings Syndicate'. Leia and Taylor just left them to that.
Who was she to disrupt... whatever that was.
As the others all headed out into the wider stadium, Scott turned to look at Leia who was still under his arm like a protective dad. He grinned down at her as she sent Taylor a good luck text before ramming her phone back into her jeans pocket.
"You nervous?"
"Always," Leia replied without hesitation. "Worried I'll step on her foot or something.'
The plan was that Leia would go out with Scott, hand out some guitar picks as usual and then head back to the VIP tent to watch the start of the show. She'd slip out while Taylor was floating above the crowd during Delicate, rush under the stage to do her quick change there and then meet Charli and Camila at the B-Stage. A very fast change but she wanted to miss as little of the show as possible.
"I have all my faith in you," Scott replied, ruffling her hair slightly. "I also was told to let you know that you might want to just come back to the tent afterwards - she doesn't want you to miss out on the surprise song. Apparently it's one of your favourites - and no, I won't say what."
"Now you've got me even more hyped up," Leia laughed, giving Scott a playful nudge. "But I appreciate the heads up. I definitely don't want to miss that."
As they stepped out into the bustling stadium, the energy of the crowd washed over them. Fans cheered and reached out, their faces alight with joy and anticipation. Leia felt a surge of warmth in her chest, reminded once again of why she loved performing so much.
She and Scott made their way through the crowd, handing out guitar picks and chatting briefly with fans. Leia kept an eye out for the four fans she'd met earlier, hoping Austin and Georgie would be able to find them easily.
As they finished their rounds and headed back towards the VIP area, Leia caught sight of Georgie and Austin across the stadium, having returned and now heading towards them with Andrea. Even from a distance, she could see the nervous excitement in Georgie's posture, the way she bounced slightly on her toes as she talked with Andrea.
Leia settled in to watch the start of the show. As the lights dimmed and the opening notes of "...Ready For It?" filled the stadium, she felt the familiar rush of adrenaline. She watched, mesmerised, as Taylor commanded the stage, her voice and presence electrifying the crowd.
Time seemed to fly by, and before she knew it, Leia was being ushered towards her quick-change area. As she slipped into her outfit for "Shake It Off," she took a deep breath, centring herself.
"You've got this," she whispered to herself, smoothing down her outfit one last time.
As she made her way to the B-stage, she could hear the crowd's excitement building. Charli and Camila were already there, both giving her encouraging smiles as she joined them. The fans that were on the floor and had seen her join the duo started to scream in excitement, realising that Leia was about to make her on-stage debut with Taylor.
When it was her turn to step out onto the stage, Leia felt a moment of surreal joy. The crowd's roar was deafening as the rest of the stadium realised she was joining the performance - something that was unexpected since she hadn't for any of the previous shows.
As they sang and danced, Leia caught Taylor's eye and couldn't help but laugh at the infectious joy on her face.
Yeah, things were definitely good in the world.
____
Well, until August anyway.
"Hey, did you um... did you tell Taylor about Karlie knowing about those photos being published?" Georgie asked, walking into the green room of the stadium on the morning of their first show in Nashville.
Leia looked up from where she had been playing on her phone, furrowing her eyebrows as she looked at her sister in confusion.
"Nah, I never mentioned it," Leia admitted. "I didn't want to bother her and then since they stopped hanging out anyway, it kind of felt redundant to bring up."
Georgie's expression tightened, her eyes darting nervously around the room before settling back on Leia. She took a deep breath, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.
"Well, um... I think you might want to reconsider that decision," Georgie said, her voice low and hesitant. She moved closer to Leia, perching on the edge of the couch beside her. "I just saw the VIP guest list for tonight's show, and... Karlie's name is on it."
Leia felt her stomach drop, her phone slipping from her fingers and landing with a soft thud on her lap as she looked up at Georgie in surprise. She blinked rapidly, trying to process the information.
"What?" Leia managed to choke out, her voice barely above a whisper. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. Taylor actually asked me to give you a heads up. She seemed... I don't know, conflicted about it? Like she wasn't entirely sure how to handle the situation, which is why I wanted to check to see if you'd ever told her..."
Leia leaned back against the couch, her mind racing. The green room, usually a haven of pre-show excitement, now felt claustrophobic. The soft hum of the air conditioning seemed to grow louder, filling the silence between the sisters.
"No, I don't want to tell her now," Leia replied, closing her eyes for a second as she leaned back. "It'll make things awkward."
The scent of fresh flowers from the nearby vase mingled with the faint aroma of coffee, grounding her in the moment. When she opened her eyes, she saw Georgie watching her intently, worry etched across her features.
"Why is she coming? I thought... I thought they weren't even talking anymore."
Georgie shrugged, her face a picture of helplessness.
"I don't know all the details. Taylor just said something about mending fences and not wanting any bad blood. You know how she is – always trying to take the high road."
Leia nodded absently, her fingers playing with the hem of her shirt. The memory of those photos – the ones Karlie had known about – flashed through her mind. The hurt and betrayal she'd felt then came rushing back, mingling with a new anxiety about potentially facing Karlie.
Leia sank back onto the couch, her head in her hands. The excitement she'd felt about the show tonight was now tainted with a nervous energy that thrummed through her veins.
As Leia grappled with this new information, the door to the green room swung open with a soft creak.
Tree strode in, her heels clicking against the polished floor. Her eyes, sharp and observant as ever, immediately took in the scene before her – Leia's slumped posture, Georgie's concerned expression, and the palpable tension in the air.
Tree's lips pressed into a thin line as she approached the sisters, her tailored blazer rustling softly with each step.
"I see Georgie's already filled you in," Tree said, her voice measured and calm. She perched on the arm of a nearby chair, her posture perfect despite the casual position.
Leia looked up, her eyes meeting Tree's. The PR maven's gaze was steady, but there was a flicker of something – concern, perhaps – behind her professional facade.
"It was my idea, actually," Tree continued, her fingers absently smoothing an invisible wrinkle from her skirt. "We're hoping to get a photo of Taylor and Karlie together. It should help quash the rumours about their falling out."
The room fell silent for a moment, save for the distant hum of activity beyond the green room walls. Leia could hear the muffled sounds of the crew setting up, a stark reminder of the show that still lay ahead.
"I... I see," Leia managed, her voice sounding small even to her own ears. She straightened up, trying to match Tree's composure. "And Taylor's okay with this?"
Tree nodded, a ghost of a smile touching her lips. "She is. You know Taylor – always trying to take the high road, even when it's not the easiest path."
Leia couldn't help but notice how Tree's words echoed Georgie's from moments earlier. It was a testament to how well they all knew Taylor, how predictable her desire for peace and reconciliation could be.
"Look," Tree said, leaning forward slightly, her voice taking on a softer tone. "I know this isn't ideal. But it's just one photo, one moment. It doesn't change anything between you and Taylor. I don't know what happened between you and Karlie - and I don't need to know, but I do need your word that you'll play nice."
Leia nodded.
"Speculation about Taylor and Karlie's friendship has been running rampant, and it's starting to overshadow some of the positive press we've been getting for the tour."
Leia nodded slowly, taking in Tree's words. She understood the reasoning, even if it made her stomach churn. The thought of Karlie being here, in this space that had become so special to her and Taylor, felt like an intrusion. But she knew she had to be professional about this.
"I understand," Leia said finally, her voice steadier than she felt. "Don't worry, I'll be on my best behavior. It's just... unexpected."
She'd have to put on a brave face, smile for the cameras, pretend everything was fine. It wouldn't be the first time she'd had to act for the public eye, but this felt different somehow. More personal.
A piece of her felt almost... bitter. Leia knew fine well that a photo of Karlie and Taylor was going to be percepted as them being in a secret relationship - she knew all about the 'Kaylor' conspiracy theories.
She wasn't sure what was annoying her more; people genuinely believing it was Karlie secretly dating Taylor, or that Tree and Taylor didn't seem to care about fuelling that rumour. Yet they were so adamant that she and Taylor couldn't be linked like that.
Was it really about the speculation of her sexuality? Or was it really just... Leia not being good enough?
"Alright," Leia said, snapping herself out of her spiralling as she stood up and began to smooth down her clothes. "Is there anything specific you need me to do?"
Tree shook her head.
"Just be yourself. Taylor wants you there, by her side. That hasn't changed."
___
"You look great! You were amazing up there!" Karlie yelled as she reached out to grab Leia into a hug once the girl arrived to the VIP tent with Scott in tow, just like normal. Scott had given her a pep talk - although it had been pretty shit, Leia appreciated it anyway.
Leia plastered a smile on her face, hugging Karlie back (and being very aware of the fans cameras that were all pointed in their direction right now).
Karlie pulled back from the hug, her hands still resting on Leia's shoulders as she beamed at her. The VIP tent buzzed with energy, the excited chatter of fans and the muffled sounds of the stadium beyond creating a cocoon of noise around them.
"I've missed you," Karlie said, her voice carrying a hint of wistfulness. The soft glow of the tent's lighting caught the glimmer in her eyes, a mix of happiness and something deeper—regret, perhaps. "It's been too long."
Leia nodded, her smile still in place even as she felt a twinge in her chest. Karlie's expression shifted, becoming more serious as she lowered her voice, leaning in closer so that only Leia could hear her next words.
"Listen, I know what I did hurt you. The photo situation... I should have handled it differently. I'm truly sorry for that, Leia. I never meant to cause you any pain."
The sincerity in Karlie's voice was palpable, her eyes searching Leia's face for a reaction. Around them, fans continued to snap photos, their camera flashes creating a constant, subtle strobe effect that seemed to underscore the surreal nature of the moment.
Her gaze flickered briefly to where Riven stood across the tent, deep in conversation with Tree but occasionally glancing their way.
"Karlie, I..." Leia started, her voice wavering slightly. She glanced around, acutely aware of their surroundings. The colorful decorations of the VIP area seemed to blur in her peripheral vision as she focused on Karlie's face. "This night is about Taylor. But I do appreciate your apology."
She managed a genuine smile, small but real, as she gently stepped back from Karlie's grasp.
"Of course," Karlie said, her smile soft and a little sad. "Maybe we could talk more another time? When it's not so... public?"
Leia nodded, not trusting herself to speak further. She could feel Scott's protective presence behind her, a silent support she was immensely grateful for.
Just then, a burst of laughter from across the tent drew their attention. Camila had entered, her post-show glow lighting up the space around her. She was making her way towards them, greeting others in their tent as she went.
Leia felt a mix of relief and anxiety as the girl approached. The brunette's eyes darted between Leia and Karlie, a question in their depths. Leia gave her a small, reassuring smile, hoping to convey that everything was okay.
Georgie must have told her that Karlie was here, because Camila didn't always come to the tent, and when she did it was usually after the first few songs. It was clear the girl had rushed to change out of her opener outfit to give Leia some emotional support.
"You look cute!" Leia told her, her finger trailing over the braids that Camila had put in for that show.
"You were incredible out there," Camila gushed, her eyes sparkling with genuine admiration.
The VIP tent hummed with energy, everyone mingling excitedly as they waited for Taylor's show to kick off. The air was thick with the scent of perfume and the lingering aroma of concert snacks.
Before they knew it, Taylor was on stage and performing with just as much energy as ever.
As they exited the tent just as Delicate started, the cool night air hit Leia's face, a welcome respite from the warmth inside. The stadium loomed around them, a colossus of light and sound. The music grew louder as they ran through the stands to get changed, Taylor's voice clear and strong, singing about dive bars and midnight.
"You okay?" Camila asked softly as they got changed, her hand giving Leia's arm a gentle squeeze.
Leia nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm good. Thanks for coming to the rescue."
Leia's eyes were drawn to the monitors showing Taylor on stage, her figure bathed in soft blue light as she floated above the crowd. The sight never failed to take Leia's breath away.
She just hoped she'd make it home without having to speak to Karlie.
