Third Person POV

Plan surveyed the finished mini makeshift shelter that Mean had built for the two of them.

"You worked so hard, sweetheart," Plan said to Mean, caressing Mean's face, "I will make it up to you tonight."

Mean smiled. "Don't make promises that you cannot keep."

"Are you questioning my abilities?" Plan asked in an offended tone, "come, let me prove to you right now that I can more than pay you back for your hard work."

Plan started dragging Mean into the makeshift shelter.

"No, no, no," Mean protested, "I am tired and I am sweaty. Let me go take a dip in the river."

"Let me go with you," said Plan.

When Plan and Mean reached the river, it looked like they were not the only ones who had the same idea. There were several other people who had gotten there before them.

"Let's go farther away," Mean suggested.

Plan and Mean walked farther westward of the river.

Finally they came upon a more secluded part of the river.

"Let me do it," said Plan as Mean started to unbutton his shirt.

Mean let Plan do as he wished. When the last button was undone, Plan opened wide Mean's shirt to reveal his chest.

"Plan..." Mean looked around anxiously as Plan started to trail kisses on Mean's chest.

As Plan's kisses went lower and lower, Plan had to go on a kneeling position as he unzipped Mean's pants.

"Plan..." Mean said again, growing more anxious.

Mean had not noticed that while Plan was slowly trailing kisses down his chest, Plan had already removed his own shirt and pants.

Suddenly, Plan stood up.

"Race you to the water!" Plan exclaimed.

Mean could only shake his head as he pulled his pants down and took them off and laid them on the ground by the river bank.

He went after Plan who was already swimming farther and farther away.

He sliced cleanly across the water. When he reached Plan, he grabbed him and dragged him to the shallowest part of the river.

He started kissing Plan who was more than willing to be kissed. In fact, Plan kissed him back hungrily.

Mean could feel himself getting harder by the minute. He broke the kiss, saying "Plan let's go over there behind that tree with a wide trunk."

Godt's POV

I calmed down a little as the kind stranger ran his warm hand across my back.

He later introduced himself to me. His name was Kimmon. I gave him my name.

I refused Kimmon's offer to go and meet the giant waves crashing against the shore. I was afraid that I would be tempted to let the waves wash me out to sea and literally drown my sorrow and pain.

"It might rain again later," Kimmon said, looking up at the sky.

Suddenly an idea came to me that would take my mind off my misery.

"Let's build a mini shelter," I suggested.

"That's a good idea," said Kimmon, "the main shelter has only one wall, and if we're not lucky enough to find space by the wall, the rain will get us wet when the wind blows it into the shelter."

We went around gathering materials for our mini shelter.

I told Kimmon that I wanted to build our makeshift shelter farthest away from everyone else's. I particularly wanted to stay away from the one that Joss had built for Bas and himself. Bas had not even been aware that I had seen him and Joss together. It was best that he did not know that I had survived the shipwreck. What was the point. Had he even tried to look for me, to find out if I was alive or not. Bas had found new happiness. I was going to let him be.

Between Kimmon and myself, it wasn't too long before we were able to construct our own shelter. Of course it didn't provide much privacy but we really didn't need that. All we needed was protection from the rain and the wind.

Although it wasn't too much of a hard work that Kimmon and I had done, our physical efforts made our backs sweat a little.

We decided to wash off our sweat in the river.

Together we walked past the thick foliage, pushing against the thicker shrubbery and going around trees that were along the way.

The river was not too far away now. We just needed to go past a few more trees.

Suddenly Kimmon broke into a run, almost stumbling over a loose stone.

Then whamm! His fist went flying across someone's face and then he started dragging a shorter guy towards the river bank.

The other taller guy could only watch in shock as Kimmon kept dragging the shorter guy closer to the water and then dunking him there.

"Hey!" I yelled at Kimmon as I ran towards them. Was he planning to drown the shorter guy in the river?

A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet.

Even if they were strangers to me, I wasn't going to stand aside and watch someone get drowned.

"Stop it, stop it!" I yelled again, grabbing Kimmon's arm.

"Stay out of this!" Kimmon yelled back at me, pushing me away.

The shorter guy tried to stand up but Kimmon pushed him back, face down into the water.

I had no choice but to punch Kimmon hard, making him lose his balance.

I dragged the shorter guy out of the water.

Suddenly I lost my footing as I felt Kimmon's fist hit my chin hard.

"This guy whom you just saved has done the same thing to me that your own boy did to you!"

I looked at the shorter guy in shock.

"Do you still want to save him now?" Kimmon asked angrily.

The shorter guy approached Kimmon, trying to touch his arm. Kimmon pushed him angrily away.

"Get away from me," said Kimmon, "be thankful I spared your life. Go, go back to your new partner. I can't stand the sight of you anymore. Go, I said, before I change my mind and drown you in the river!"

I looked reproachfully at the shorter guy. If there was one thing that I detested, it was the inability of a person to stay faithful to his partner. Maybe I should have left Kimmon to drown him in the river. Or even better, maybe I should have drowned him myself.
