Third Person POV

Captain ran blindly out of the open deck and into the foyer. He needed to get as far away from White as possible.

Captain was so upset with himself. He was upset at how naive and stupid he had been, thinking that his brief intimate encounter with White had meant something to White. And of course tonight's exchange with White had totally negated that. The selfish bastard was actually engaged to be married! White had played him for a fool. White had taken advantage of the attraction that Captain had felt for him.

Angry tears rolled down his cheeks as he continued to run blindly and, not surprisingly, he ran right smack into someone's hard chest. To make matters worse, it was a bare chest, glistening with droplets of water. The guy was wearing a pair of Hawaiian themed swimming trunks.

"Watch it," the other guy said, holding Captain to keep him from losing his balance.

And then when he noticed Captain's tear stricken face, his look of disinterest turned into a look of concern.

"Hey, are you alright?" he asked Captain, not letting go of him,

"I'm fine," Captain muttered, pulling himself away from the man's hold on him.

"You don't look it," the man remarked, walking alongside Captain, "why are you still up anyway?"

"Why are you still up?" Captain threw the question back at the stranger.

"I suffer from insomnia from time to time," the stranger explained, "when that happens, I go and swim to make myself tired and sleepy."

"So this is one of those nights," Captain remarked, temporarily forgetting his misery.

"Yes," the stranger admitted with a sigh.

"And are you tired and sleepy now?" Captain wanted to know.

"Not really," the stranger confessed, "maybe a drink or two at the bar will do the trick. You wanna join me for a few drinks?"

"Sure," Captain said, more than glad of the opportunity to forget his unhappiness.

"Cool," the stranger said with a smile. Captain noticed for the first time that the stranger was very good looking.

"Would you like to come up with me to my cabin, or would you like to wait for me at the bar?" the stranger asked.

When Captain looked undecided, the stranger added, "You can already order a drink while you're waiting for me. Put it on my tab. It will be my treat. By the way, my name is Guy. I'm vacationing alone so I have really been looking for some company."

For those who don't know him, his name is Guy Sivakorn. He played a supporting role as Yong in Sotus S the series.

"And I'm Captain. I'm looking for some company, too,"

Captain scolded himself silently for feeling a tinge of guilt. He had no reason to feel guilty, he told himself. There was nothing going on between him and White. In fact White had told him not to get involved with him.

"Very well," said Captain, "I'll go ahead and wait for you at the bar. Don't take too long or I might be too drunk to carry on a conversation with you by the time you get back."

The stranger laughed. "I'll be back before the bartender can finish making your drink."

"Fine then," Captain said walking towards the elevator.

Captain was surprised to see the bar still filled with customers this late. Anyway, the more the merrier, he thought. The easier to take his mind off White.

He greeted the bartender and ordered a frozen strawberry daiquiri and told him to put the bill in Guy's name.

When his drink was ready, he stood up from the stool and looked around for an empty table.

He felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked behind him. It was Guy.

"You're late," said Captain, "the bartender has already fixed me a drink."

Guy laughed, "I know. I'm sorry. I couldn't decide between two colognes to dab on. I wanted to smell good for you. I wanted this meeting to be something special."

Captain just smiled. He did not know how to respond to that. He wasn't sure where this was leading to.

Guy looked at the drink that Captain was holding.

"That looks super," Guy said. Then turning to the bartender, he said, "I would like to have the same drink as his, please."

When Guy's drink was ready, Guy pointed out an empty table at a far corner. Captain followed him, nodding to a guy who smiled and said 'hi' to him as they passed his table.

"Do you know him?" Guy asked after both he and Captain settled themselves at their table.

"Do I know who?" asked Captain.

"The guy who said 'hi' to you," Guy replied.

"Oh, no, I don't know him," Captain was surprised that Guy had noticed that little exchange. Shit, was this person some kind of detective or what?

"You said that you were vacationing alone?" Captain asked, more of a statement than a question.

"Yes," Guy reaffirmed what he had said earlier to Captain, "how about you?"

"Same," Captain said briefly, not wanting to elaborate any further.

"And why is that?"

Shit, Captain thought, this guy was one nosy bloke. Perhaps his earlier guess was right. Perhaps he was indeed a detective.

"I needed a break from my hectic work schedule," Captain replied.

"What kind of work do you do?" Guy wanted to know.

"That's personal information," Captain replied, starting to get irritated, "and this is not a job interview so, how about I toss back the questions at you."

"Okay," said Guy with a pleasant chuckle, "I will be more than happy to answer those."

Guy took a sip from his drink and looked intently at Captain before continuing, "I am an executive director of a newly formed engineering company. We have just finished a huge project with great success and the company owner sent me on this vacation as a reward. The reason I'm vacationing alone is because I still haven't met that special someone with whom I would like to spend fun time with."

Fun time. Captain let those two words sink in. Fun time.

This person was looking for someone to spend some fun time with and then go on his merry way, leaving the other person miserable just like what White had just done to him.

Captain stood up.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Guy was taken by surprise at Captain's sudden action.

"I need to use the men's room," Captain replied.

"Geez, man, you startled me," said Guy, wide eyed, "I thought you were going to leave me."

Captain was actually thinking of leaving Guy. Guy was actually right in thinking that, but then again, Captain thought, what the heck, if he wanted to just spend fun time with Captain, why not. As long as it was clear from the start that there would be no strings attached, no emotions involved.

Captain walked into the empty men's room and went straight to the sink where he splashed some cold water into his face several times. He quickly dried his face with a paper towel from a motion sensor dispenser and then made his way back to his table.

Captain felt a little self-conscious when he noticed that Guy was watching him intently as he walked back towards their table.

"I finished my drink while you were gone," Guy informed Captain, "I'm gonna go and order another drink."

"Sure," said Captain, settling once more on his chair.

He took a sip from his drink and grimaced a little. Was he just imagining it or did his drink taste different?

He took another sip. It did taste a little funky. Did Guy do something to his drink while he was gone?

He dismissed the thought. He told himself that he was being silly and paranoid.

"How are you finding your vacation so far?" Guy asked when he came back with his drink and settled once more at their table.

"Not as fun as I would have wanted it to be," Captain replied truthfully.

"Well, let's take matters into our own hands and make this vacation a fun and memorable one before it ends," Guy declared enthusiastically.

"I'm not feeling too well right now," Captain shook his head, "I think I'm going back to my cabin if you would please excuse me."

Guy stood up at the same time that Captain did.

"Let me take you there," Guy said firmly, "If you're not feeling well as you said, I want to make sure that you reach your cabin safely."

Captain did not argue with that and allowed Guy to guide him out of the bar.
