Chapter 5: Tytan, Tee, Singto, Off
A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet. For those who do not know him, his name is Tytan Teepprasan. He played the role of Achi in Waterboyy the series, where he suffered a lot in the hands of Kluay before Kluay realized that he was just fighting his feelings for Achi.
Tytan's POV
I wiped away tears from my eyes as I recalled watching in the news the wedding of my ex-girlfriend.
She had cheated on me with a taller, more muscular guy. There was no chance of me competing with him. I wasn't tall and I wasn't muscular. I was just a very ordinary guy.
My parents knew that I was devastated and tried to help me forget my sorrow by making me go on this cruise. They were even teasing me when they saw me off at the seaport.
"Go find someone on this cruise to mend your broken heart," my dad had said as I kissed my mom goodbye and shook my dad's hand.
It had taken me until the crack of dawn before I fell asleep and so it was half past nine by the time I woke up.
I rushed to my cabin's bathroom to shower and to do all my morning rituals.
By the time I was ready to step out of my cabin, I hoped that I would still find some breakfast in the Breakfast Room.
Thankfully, I noticed that I was not the only late riser. There were still a lot of people eating breakfast. Almost all of the tables were already occupied.
I went to the end of one long table to get a tray and a plate and utensils.
I went through the assorted breakfast food that were laid out on the buffet table.
I wasn't much of an eater, which accounts for my frail build.
I chose one egg over easy. I prefer eggs over easy to sunny side up.
I then got a piece of toast that had nothing spread on it. I prefer plain toast.
After I made myself a cup of black coffee I headed for an empty table that I had spotted in one corner of the dining hall.

I did not notice someone behind me and as soon as I set my breakfast tray on the table, I heard the stranger say, "Is it okay if I join you? I don't see any more empty tables around."
I wasn't really in the mood for company but I did not want to appear stingy about my table.
"Sure," I said, hoping that my voice did not sound too insincere.
"Thank you," he said with a smile.
I looked at his face for the first time.
Damn, I'm a straight guy, but this guy's attractiveness was making my heart make somersaults.
I noticed him looking at my breakfast tray.
"You did not get the strawberry waffle special?" he asked. "People have been recommending it. They said it's really good."
I saw him cut a small piece from his waffle and dropped it on my plate.
"Go on, try it," he said.
I did not want to appear rude by rejecting his offer so I jabbed my fork into the piece and placed it in my mouth.
To my surprise, I liked how it tasted. The combination taste of vanilla and strawberry flavor made it taste really good.
"Mmm, you're right," I said, "thank you."
"You might want to go behind that counter where the sous chef is handing them out to his customers," he suggested.
"I think I will do just that," I said, standing up and walking over to the counter.
For some reason, the sous chef's face looked familiar to me, but I couldn't place it. I just couldn't recall where I had seen him before.
He flashed me a bright smile as he handed me the small plate of strawberry waffles.
"Enjoy," he said.
"Thank you, I will," I replied as I took the plate from him.
By the time I got back to my table, the other guy was already half way through his breakfast. Damn, he was a fast eater.
"By the way, I'm Tae," he said, extending his hand to me.
"And I'm Tytan," I said, taking his proferred hand.
"Pleased to meet you, Tytan," Tae said before taking a sip from his glass of orange juice.
"Same here," I said, digging into my breakfast.
"Are you here with anyone, or are you alone?" he asked.
I hated to say that I was alone because it made me seem like a loser, which I was.
"Only temporarily," I lied, "my girlfriend is boarding the ship at the next port."
"Oh, you have a girlfriend," he said.
Why did he look disappointed, I wondered. Was he on this cruise looking for a shipboard romance?
It seemed that there were a lot of latecomers because more and more people were milling around the dining hall.

I wasn't surprised therefore when someone approached our table with his breakfast tray.
"Is it okay if I join you guys?" the newcomer asked, "I can't find any other available space."
"Sure," it was Tae who answered, "I am almost finished with my breakfast anyway."
"Thank you," said the newcomer, setting his tray on our table.
"By the way, my name is Singto," he said, extending his hand first to Tae and then to me.
"Pleased to meet you," said Tae, "I'm Tae and that's Tytan."
"My pleasure to meet you both," said Singto before taking a sip from his glass of fruit juice.
"What kind of juice is that?" I asked, looking at the dark red liquid inside his glass.
"It's pomegranate," he supplied the information.
Suddenly, someone approached our table, grabbing Singto by the collar with such force that it made him stand up, and before anyone could stop him, he landed a fist on Singto's jaw.
"I told you to stay away from him," he snarled at Singto, "he's mine, do you hear me? He is mine!"
