You're sitting at your desk infront of your computer as you slump back in your chair with a smile.

Finally the divorce papers Mr.Kang requested for the client are done!!!

I know I shouldn't be happy,but it's Friday and the client Mr. Cho does deserve to get away from his wife...soon to be ex wife.

She literally cheated on him.

Oh! Right!

I almost forgot to introduce myself.

My name is Autumn London.

I'm 24 years old and turning 25 this year.

I work at this law firm as a family law paralegal and I love animals and plushies...They're just so cute. I own many plushies! And I love them so much!

It's delicious! I have quite the sweet tooth! But I mean who doesn't,right?

So I'm studying to be a lawyer...a family law lawyer to be exact.

All though I do read about things of other types of lawyers...

Why?

Because law has always interested me.

I always liked watching movies about lawyers or any movie that had lawyers in them.

My mom used to tell my dad that I'd be a lawyer one day...

And look where I am today...I'm so close to achieving my dream.

A lot of people have said that I wouldn't make it since I'm not the typical lawyer. That I don't look or act like one. In other words I don't look intimidating. Which I'm fine with. When I talk to clients I want to make them feel comfortable so I can have an easier time helping them instead of making them feel like a rat bring chased by a cat and feeling cornered.

My second reason for liking law and reading about it the most is because law can help people. Help them make their voice be heard.

Third reason is that knowledge is power...

You can never have too much knowledge...

But you can have too little.

Fourth reason is I just love reading in general...

I mean what's there not to love about reading?

You get to pass the time while reading a good book.

You get to increase your vocabulary.

So many benefits!

I'm very happy that I'm so close to being a lawyer...

All that studying and late nights are paying off!

You know...I used to dress up as a lawyer for Halloween when I was little.

I used to wear a suit with glasses and carried a briefcase.

And every time someone asked me what's the brief case...

I'd always act as if it was top secret and no one could know...

Like I had some top secret files in there...

While in reality I only had my candy and some pages that I scribbled gibberish on...

You let out a laugh as you think back while staring at the ceiling.

I used to go as a lawyer every year.

And when I used to watch the lawyer movies...

I'd always felt this unexplainable happiness within my heart when the good guys won...

And here I am...

Feeling some of that each day here...

The happiness just grows as each the day passes..

As each client comes in and walks out happily...

It makes me very happy...

Even when some clients are difficult...I still feel the happiness...

Because I know we do everything we can to help our clients...

In legal non breaking law ways of course.

The feeling of just knowing you helped someone is just unexplainable...

I seriously can't believe it's my last year of studying before I become a family law lawyer!!!

You look up at the stars shining brightly in the sky. The streets lighted by street lamps. The sound of crickets floating around.

Autumn: Wow! It's already dark...
I can't stop thinking about those divorce papers...

Mr.Cho is a 50 year old businessman.

His wife 10 years cheated on him with the pool boy.

She's probably going to deny her infidelity...trying to make Mr.Cho doubt himself.

But we have proof of her misdeed.

I feel happy but sad at the same time...

Happy that they came here to ask us for help...

Happy that I have someone like Jack...and can feel completely safe...

Knowing he'd never do something to hurt me...

Sad that they found out that their spouse cheated...

Meaning that it's sad that their spouse would even cheat...

Sad because all of them always have this lost look in their eyes...

Like they don't know what to do...

Every time those clients walk in...I realize just how lucky I am...

It just makes me fall even deeper in love with him...

He's the perfect boyfriend in my eyes...

This whole time Jack has been so supportive and understanding telling me to not worry and that I'm not just staying out late to just stay out late...

That it's my future we're talking about.

And that deserves attention and that he can wait for as long as it takes...

Since it's my last year...

That means I will get to spend more time with him...

Your dad's smile falters a bit and you see the rush of emotions on his face.

You continue smiling as he walks over towards you slowly then realization dawns on him that it's actually you.

Your mom joins the hug and embraces you both.

The three of us just stand silently...holding each other tightly...

My parents talking and laughing with one another as I look at all the food and drinks on the table in front of me.
There's chocolate cake,chocolate chip cookies,s'mores,cheesecake,ice cream,cupcakes,brownies and so on.
For drinks there is cider,soda,lemonade,coffee,tea,water.
I've always loved chocolate chip cookies since I was little.
To this day they are still my number one snack so naturally I reach for one...
I look at the chocolate chip cookie.
Golden brown with the chocolate chips shining like small,black diamonds.
I bring it to my mouth and part my lips.
As I'm about to take a bite...I feel so happy.
But I stop myself at the last second...

After a few minutes I calm down and they get to their feet.

I've always had a bad feeling about him!!!! Look at how his parents treated you!!! And he always defended them saying they're just trying to help!

He looks at your tired expression and nods reluctantly.

Alan: Okay...dear...

An actual smile appears on your face and you feel a bit of the weight being lifted off your shoulders.

I stay quiet for a second before looking at them again.

I take out my phone...typing in the name of the place and show it to my parents.

You said that you'd go for a vacation there when you become a lawyer...
I can't remember the name...I'm getting old...

My dad gives me my phone back and turns to my mom.

Alan: Yes,you are getting old...

My dad pauses...smiling...looking lovingly at my mom.

Your mom looks at him sternly.

Cecilia: Alan! Stop it! Our child is here! Stop it otherwise you'll be sleeping in one of the guestrooms tonight.

Your dad laughs again and nods.

Aw...look at my parents...

This sight makes me so happy...

Your mom clears her throat and they turn their attention back to you.

Cecilia: So yes...I can't remember the island's name...

Autumn: It's called Ulleungdo island...
I'm so excited to go there...
I can't fly there,but that doesn't matter.

Cecilia: Then you should get some rest...
You have a long journey ahead of you...

Autumn: Yes...but I don't have any of my stuff here...
I only have my phone and these clothes I'm wearing...

Alan: Don't worry about it...
I'll send some people right now to get all your things and bring them...

I hug my parents and head upstairs to my room...
I push the door open.

Autumn: Wow...
Everything looks exactly the same as I left it...
I should go and sleep...

I close the door behind me and turn off the lights as I make my way over to the bed and take off my shoes.
I sit down and feel the soft mattress helping me relax.

I should look at hotels I could stay in while on the island.

I take out my phone and start searching. Looking through multiple pages and reviews of hotels on the island.

Mhm...they all look so nice...but I don't want anything fancy...

I continue searching before one catches my attention.

This one is perfect!

I'll take stay at this hotel...and that room it looks nice...

I'll take it.

I quickly book the room then put my phone away.
I let out a yawn...feeling all the exhaustion washing over me.

I should sleep...

I have a BIG day ahead of me tomorrow...

I lay down under the covers and immediately fall asleep...

Autumn: Mhm...

You roll on your side and slowly open your eyes as you look out the window on the opposite side of your room. The birds are chirping and the sun is shining brightly.

Autumn: Oh...it's already morning...and I see a few boxes here too...
All my stuff...
I should probably get up and pack some of the stuff I'll need...
Then take a shower and head down for brunch...

You sigh.

Autumn: What am I sighing for?
Today is the day I'll go to Ulleungdo island:)
I should be jumping in excitement...
I am excited! Very excited!:)

You slowly sit upright and look around the room.
Your smile widens.

Autumn: OMG!!!!!

You immediately jump out of bed and run over to the cupboard.

You pick up the toy bear and smile brightly.

Autumn: Mr.Cuddles!!!!!!
I missed you so much!!!!
I wonder if you still work...

I pull the pull string and smile...waiting...

Mr.Cuddles: Hello,Autumn!

Autumn: He still works! Mom and dad must've made sure he does...
I remember the day I got Mr.Cuddles...
It was my eight birthday...
We went to an amusement park.
We had lots of fun that day and my dad saw I wanted Mr.Cuddles so he played the game numerous times to win him for me. I was so happy...

We've got some packing to do...
We'll be leaving for Ulleungdo island soon...

I spend the next 20 minutes packing only the things I'll need.
Which includes 10 of my plushies and of course Mr.Cuddles.

You can never have too many plushies...

I have countless plushies but I can't take them all...

Okay...everything is done...

Now I need to go take a shower,get dressed head down for brunch.

I head to my bathroom and take a nice shower. I towel dry my hair and put on a robe. Putting on the first pieces of clothing I see.

Autumn: Okay...time for brunch.

The minute I walk out my room...
A smell invades my nose...

Mhm...

Chocolate chip pancakes?!:)

I immediately run downstairs.
As I turn the corner I bump into dad and he drops his phone. He looks at me with wide eyes.

Alan: Autumn honey,are you okay?

I nod.

Autumn: I'm okay,dad.
I bumped into you...I'm so sorry...
And you dropped your phone...

I bend down picking up the phone and hand it back.

Autumn: Here,dad...
Sorry again...
I wasn't watching where I was running.

He takes the phone and smiles at you.

Alan: It's okay,honey.
Just be careful,okay?

You nod.

Alan: I'm sure that you running has something to do with your favourite chocolate chip pancakes,right?

Autumn: Yes! Yes! It does!:)

Alan: Come on...let's go eat. You're practically bouncing off the walls in excitement.

He says with a laugh.

We sit down outside at the table to talk and enjoy brunch.
After a few minutes we finish eating and get up.
One of the maids brings me my luggage and I thank her.
My dad tells the maid that she should tell Winston our driver to bring the car out front...
The car comes to a stop in front of us and we get in heading to the airport.
While we drive to the airport...my parents and I chat a bit...reminiscing about how my mom always said I'll be a lawyer and now I'm so close...
I stare out the window..excited to go to Ulleungdo island.
After a short while we arrive at Heathrow Airport.
I look at all the people walking around. People chatting,booking tickets,having their bags searched and so on.

Wow...I can't believe I'm actually doing this...

Going to Ulleungdo island.

A dream come true...I can't wait to see everything and experience it all...

Jack: Your stomach is so big that it's practically hanging on the floor...

I wordlessly put my favourite shawl over my shoulders wrapping it tightly around me.

Cecilia: Autumn dear?
Are you feeling cold?

Autumn: No,mom...
I just like this shawl a lot...so I thought of putting it on.
And also I remember the other times we were on plane...that it was chilly...
So I put this on.

Cecilia: Okay,honey.

Alan: You're really going there:)
We're very proud of you,Autumn.
Remember to call or message us anytime,okay?
And remember to enjoy yourself.

I hug my dad and give him a peck on the cheek.

Autumn: I will...

I hug and give my mom a peck on the cheek too before stepping away and looming at them with a smile.

Autumn: I should get going...

Cecilia: Bye,honey! We'll miss you!!!

You walk off waving.
As soon as you're out of earshot your mom turns to your dad.

Cecilia: Alan dear?

Cecilia: I'm worried about her...
This thing with Jack...

Your dad's sad expression turns angry.

Alan: Don't even mention his name!

Your mother looks away and your dad sighs feeling bad.

Alan: I'm sorry,honey...
I didn't mean to yell...

Cecilia: It's okay...I understand...
I'm just worried about her...she's alone in a new place...
Her wound is still fresh...
She's vulnerable...
I'm just scared for her...
She's always been reserved...not liking to show much skin...

After going through the whole process of everything...
I board the plane.
I place my carry on luggage in the overhead bin and close it.

Okay...all my bags are in...

I sit down and buckle my seat belt.

This is really happening...

Pilot: Good morning,everyone.

All of you turn your attention to the front of the plane. A middle aged man and a young woman standing side by side.

Pilot: I'm Michael your pilot for this flight.

He looks at the woman next to him.

Pilot: This is Emily. She'll be your hostess for the duration of this flight.
Anything you need she'll help.
Now that introductions are over...
I'll have you all know that this aircraft is in good working condition so no need to worry.
This is flight 3245.
We'll be taking route XXXXXXXXXXX.
Please follow the rules and regulations and enjoy the flight.

He bows and heads into the cockpit. The speaker sounds overhead.

Pilot: Buckle up everyone. We're about to take off.

And just like that the plane takes off into the air.
I stare out the window...looking at the clouds...

I'm very excited!

I need something to drink...

What do I want to get?

Mhm...

I think I'll choose red wine.

I don't drink much...but I think I'll have some red wine to calm my nerves.

And red wine does have health benefits...

And I also have reasons to celebrate...

I'm so close to achieving my dream,I'm going to Ulleungdo island,I'm using my own money to go eventhough I'm in economy class...I don't care...money doesn't matter to me...

Jack broke my heart and it's still hurting...

But I have so much to be thankful for...

My health,my loving and supportive mom and dad...so many things...

What could I possibly ask for...

You call Emily over with a smile.

Autumn: Excuse me...may I please have a glass of red wine?

Emily: Coming right up,Miss.

Few minutes later the flight attendant comes with my drink and I drink it.

I should listen to some music...

You take out your headphones putting them on as you listen to some music...humming along to the tune...
While looking out the window you feel sleepy...
So sleepy that you fall asleep with a smile on your face.

-Time skip-

As you're still sleeping the speaker sounds again and the pilot's voice echos throughout the plane.

Pilot: We have arrived in Gimhae,South Korea.

Autumn: Mhm...
What?

You open your eyes and remove your headphones.

I'm in Gimhae,South Korea?!:)

Almost there!

I just need to take a bus,car and then the ferry.

Pilot: Thank you for flying with us. We hope you had a wonderful flight and have an even more wonderful morning.

The speaker turns off and people start taking their carry ons from the overhead bins and exiting the plane as you remain in your seat.

Morning?

You check the time on your phone.

Wow...it's the next day already...did I sleep that long?!

You put it away and stretch out.

I should go freshen up before taking a bus...

You do just that. After getting your bags you took a shower and quickly rushed out.
Time flies by as you hop on and off the bus and then same with the car.
Now you only need to board the ferry.

As you arrive you smile at how beautiful sight.
People waiting in rows to board the ferry.
After everyone boards the ferry starts moving.
You rush to all the railings and look down.

Wow! The ocean looks so beautiful! I can't wait to see the island.

I can't believe I'm really on this ferry...

Autumn: This is so exciting!:)

Man: It is pretty exciting,isn't it?

You look and see a smiling man that seems to be in his late thirties to early forties.

Man: It's nice to see that some people still appreciate the beauty of nature.
Oh! How rude of me! I'm Mike...
One of the workers here.

You smile and extend your hand for a handshake.

Autumn: I'm Autumn:)

He shakes your hand.

Man: It's nice to meet you,Autumn.
Is it your first time coming here?

Autumn: How did you know?O.o

Man: Just a hunch...
And you were running all around the ship that I thought it would sink*laugh*

Autumn: Oh! I'm sorry!*embarrassed laugh*

Man: No need to apologize and be embarrassed.

People these days see nature but also don't...

We're very close to the island...
So I have to go now.

I wave goodbye to the man and stare out at the island as it grows closer.
After a few minutes the ferry comes to a stop.
All the passengers gather all their things and get off and I follow.

I can't believe I'm actually here!!!!

I quickly put my bags down to look where the hotel is...while people walk past. As I look at the map on my phone and then up..I'm shocked to see that the hotel is literally in front of me!;_;

It's so big but I guess I was just too excited to see it...

It looks so nice...even better than it did in the pictures.

I should head inside and then go to the beach...which is literally behind me.

I pick up my bags and walk into the hotel to get my keycard for my room.
I head up the stairs and swipe my keyboard and the door opens revealing the bedroom.

I love this room!!!!

I walk over to the bed putting my bags down and climb on the bed looking out the window.
Watching as people swim,relax and play on the beach. The sound of the waves and children's laughter mixing and forming a beautiful melody.

I think I'll take out all my stuff later.

But right now I'll go and relax on the beach.

I take out my one piece bathing suit,a towel,pair of heart shaped sunglasses and of course a bottle of sunscreen.
I head down to the toilets outside the hotel to change into my bathing suit.
I lay down my beach towel on the sand,put on my sunglasses and sunscreen.
I lay down feeling the warmth of the sun all over me.

This is very nice...

As I'm closing my eyes...
I hear footsteps next to me...
The shadow blocking the sun from my face.
I turn my head to look at who it is...
And I see...
