How to Pray (Read Namaz)
Namaz (Prayer in Arabic) is the second pillar of Islam.
Here, I will give you a guide for prayer:
First of all, you need to have wudu. This is a wash to help make yourself clean pure before praying. It helps wash your sins away.
How to do Wudu
Make niyyah/Niyat (intention) for Wudu' in your heart-
Pronunciation:
"Nawayatu Aan Aatawad-Daa Lirafi-l-Haadasi Wa-istibaahatal Lis-Salati Wa Taakaar-Ruban Illaal-Laahee Taala"
Translation:
I intent to Wudu' for purify from impurity and to establish prayer and to obtain nearness of ALLAH Taala.
Then start Wudu' by saying–
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Pronunciation
"Bismillahi arrahmani arraheem"
Translation
In the Name of ALLAH, the ENTIRELY MERCIFUL, the ESPECIALLY MERCIFUL.
Then follow theses steps ↑
1. Wash hands
2 Rinse mouth x3
3. Rinse nose x3
4. Wash the face x3
5. Wash arms up to elbows x3
6. Run wet hands through hair and ears
7. Wash both feet up to ankles x3
Namaz
Stand to face the Qibla on your prayer mat. The Qibla is the direction towards the Kaaba. Some compasses modified for this purpose are now available. Many hotel rooms also have the Qibla direction marked somewhere on the roof. You must be looking towards the spot where your head will touch the ground during the Sajdah and your feet must be evenly spaced.
Make the intention to pray. You do not need to say it out loud, but you will need to know which prayer of the day you are performing, what will be the type of the rakaat, and the number of rakaats. An example would be to think, "I will perform 2/4 rakaat/fard/sunnat/nafil of the Fajr/Zuhr/Asr/Maghrib/Isha/ prayer". Remind yourself that you are praying to Allah alone and not show off or for the sake of another person (i.e parents).
Stand on the prayer mat and say Allah Hu Akbar (God Is The Greatest) whilst raising your hand up to your ears (chest for females) and place your left hand onto your chest (just over your belly button for males) then your right hand over the left.
Then recite the sana
And now the taweej
Inni wajjahtu wajhiya lillazi fatars samawati wal arza hanii-fo-wn-wamaa ana minal mushrikeen.
Surely I am facing towards HE, WHO Creates the Heavens and the Earth and I am not comprise with mushriks/polytheists/those who associates others with ALLAH.
After this, you must recite surah Al Fathiha (The Opening)
Now recite any surah from the Quran.
After this, you must go down to ruku
As you stand back up from the ruku, keep your hands by your side and recite
"Samee Allahoo Layman Hamidah - Rabbana Lakal Hamd" Start to say Samee when leaving Rookh (bowing poster) and end with Hameedah when you are fully errect. Then recite "Rabana Lakal Hamd". After this, say Allah Hu Akbar and go down to your sujud (sajda)
TThen get up into sitting position
Females feet are positioned differently:
At this time, you recite:
Allah hum magfirlee war hamnee war zukne wahi deen
Then go back down to sajda.
You then repeat these steps complete the amount of rakats required.
For example, if we were reading 3?2 rakats fajar namaz sunnah, then we will repeat all steps and rise from that second said a saying Allah Hu Akbar and rise back to NY at and in position. I will recite surah Al Fathiha and do my namaz as before. this time, after doing the second said a, I will go back to my sitting position saying Allah Hu Akbar.
Here you say:
When reciting the second to last line, raise your index finger then put it back down as you start the last line.
After these 4, you can do your salaam and finish this rakat.
If your namaz is done here, then do tasbeeh (optional- Prophet Muhammad did it) which is:
Subhanallah 33times
Allhamduillah 33times
Allah Hu Akbar 34times
Mashallah you did it! Namaz is done!
