Chapter 16

NOT EDITED

"Why should I?" Parth's voice was cold and it send shivers down her spine. He towered over Laila while his gaze piercing through her with an intensity that made her shudder. She could see the satisfaction in his eyes, the pleasure he took in her suffering and It made her disgusted. She wanted to know why?, She knew that this was just a namesake reason to hurt her and satisfy his barely existent moral compass, His only true objective was to see her in pain, writhing in it like she was in that very moment. What wrong has she done him to suffer like this.

"Parth please," Laila whispered with her voice trembling. "I've learned my lesson and I'll not make no mistakes again, Please no more" continued Laila begging for escape from the torture. It looked like he was considering her words and she was clinging onto her dear hope that He'll stop this saga of pain and be rational. Then without any warning, he brought the belt down again and it attacked her already reddened skin tragically. Laila's scream echoed through the room, a glint of happiness could be effortlessly visible in Parth's sadistic eyes like he had accomplished something.

"Twenty-one" she sobbed while her voice barely a whisper. "P-please Parth no more" she pleaded but he was already clouded by the satisfaction of her pain that thinking straight was beyond him. She writhed in pain beneath him for a namesake reason while both of them aware that there's more to it. Parth crouched down beside her and his face close by inches from hers. She could feel his breath on her skin and could see the cruelty etched into every line of his face all so clearly, She retracted her face a bit to be away from him.

"You think this is about learning a lesson?" he hissed and she shivered in fear. "This is about control Laila. This is about making sure you understand your place, You're not that dumb and You're well aware what I'm doing, After all the planning and plotting it took for you to be here, I'm fairly sure you're not dumb but there's a chance that you're just dumb in the wrong places too" taunted Parth. Laila's tears fell freely, enlacing with the sweat and blood on her skin. Her entire body ached, each and every breath sending fresh waves of pain through her sore body.

She knew that Parth would not stop until he had crushed every last ounce of resistance within her. "Please" she begged in a voice no less than a mere whisper. "I'll do anything you want- Just- please- stop" She pleaded in front of him, She was too broken to suffer one more and she had displaced a part of her in turn of her relief. Parth's eyes flickered with a brief, Satisfaction of his action but he masked his glory soon itself. He stood up with the belt hanging loosely in his hand. "Get up" he commanded harshly and she looked at him in complete disbelief, She had no more strength in her but she had to do what she had to do in the name of survival

Laila struggled to her feet, every part of her in pure pain but she had no other option. She swayed unsteadily and her blurring as she tried to remain straight. Parth watched her with a mixture of satisfaction and disdain. "Remember it the next time you think about disobeying me. You will obey me Laila or there will be consequences, I don't make empty threats darling, If I say I'll cause damage then I'll most definitely do that without any doubt" said Parth in a low menacing tone which send shivers down her spine effortlessly. He turned and left the room, leaving Laila alone with her pain and her tears.

She sank to the floor while her body wracked with sobs. The physical pain was overwhelming but it was nothing compared to the emotional agony that rose in her. He was a monster and she was his captive, bound to him by vows that had turned into chains. Laila laid on the cold hard floor, her body trembling with pain and exhaustion. She knew that she had to find a way to survive and to endure the torment that Parth inflicted upon her. She had to find the answers to all her unanswered question and the pain she's suffering from.

With a deep breath, Laila pushed herself to her feet and She walked slowly to the bathroom. She stood before the mirror, her reflection stood as a reminder of the torment she had endured. Her skin was painted with bruises, her eyes red and swollen from all the crying. "I will survive this," she whispered to her reflection in an attempt of comfort. "I will not let him break me and I'll find my answers" She said with determination. Laila began to clean her wounds, each touch a reminder of the  darkness he held and the attempts of it to engulf her. As she tended to her wounds, a single thought kept her going that she would not let Parth win. She would find a way to escape, to break free from his control.

Romaisa sat on the park bench, her eyes scanning the entrance for any sign of Prihan. Her heart beat faster with each passing minute, a mix of excitement and nervousness flooding her veins. As soon as he saw her, his face lit up with a smile that made her heart skip a beat. Within moments he was standing before her and his eyes filled with warmth and affection. "Hey Macy" he said softly, The way he say's the nickname of his for her sends warmth to her heart. "Hey" she replied her voice barely above a whisper, Every moment with each other is no less than surreal.

They sat down together on the park bench. Prihan pulled out a small wrapped package from his bag. "I got you something," he said as his eyes twinkling with excitement. Romaisa's eyes widened in surprise and sparkled, "You didn't have to" she protested but there was no hiding the happiness in her voice. "I want to" he said with a soft smile and placed the package in her lap, "Who are you waiting for, Open it" he continued.

She carefully unwrapped the gift, revealing a beautifully bound journal. The cover was adorned with intricate patterns and her name was engraved in a pretty script. She traced her fingers over the lettering, her heart fluttered with emotion. "It's beautiful Prihan" she said as her voice choked with gratitude, "Thank you" she managed to say. "I thought you might like to have something to write your thoughts in," he said, Romaisa looked up at him with her eyes shimmering, "I love it And I love you". She threw herself on him, she embraced him tight and took in all the warmth.

He leaned in and gave a soft kiss against her forehead, "I love you too Macy, More than anything.". They sat in comfortable silence with their fingers intertwined. It was a moment of pure peace, a stark contrast to the chaos and tension that often surrounded their families. "How's everything at home?" Prihan asked after a while, his voice tinged with concern. Romaisa sighed, leaning her head against his shoulder, "The same, My Father is still as stubborn as ever, He refuses to even hear your family's name and Literally goes sour at the Starting of Manvik itself"

Prihan nodded, "My father isn't any better, He is nonchalant but still the hatred is very much there".  Prihan wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer. "We'll find a way and We are not our parents, We don't believe in the hate they do, I'm not my dad". She looked up at him with her doe eyes, "I do believe that And I believe in us". They sat like that for a long time, Prihan pulled out his phone and began playing a soft melody, It was their song. Romaisa's face lit up with a smile and she started to hum along.

"Remember the first time we danced to this?" Prihan asked while his eyes sparkling with the memory. Romaisa smiled softly," How could I forget? It was at that Party". "And we ended up tripping over each other's feet half the time" Prihan added. "But it was perfect," Romaisa said, her voice filled with warmth, "Just like this moment". He stood up, extending his hand to her, "May I have this dance my lady?"

She giggled, taking his hand and allowing him to pull her to her feet. They began to sway to the music, their movements slow and graceful. In that moment, it felt like they were the only two people in the world, their love creating a bubble of happiness that shielded them from the harsh realities of their lives. When the song ended, they remained entwined, Romaisa knew that there would be difficult days ahead, but she also knew that with Prihan by her side, she could face anything.

"Love You Macy" said Prihan
