Epilogue

"Mrs. Mir you need to come down to the school right now, Abira got in a fight again" one of Abira's teachers called me the second time this week.
"Okay, Ms. Raza I'll be there as soon as possible" I replied and she hung up the call.
"What happened?" Fahad asks as he walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist showing his V shape, his chiseled abs, Allah this man.
"Your princess got in a fight again, I got a call from her teacher" I explained angrily, and he just chuckled bobbing his head.
"What?" He asks, looking at my furious look.
"It is all because of you, I have told you not to spoil her this much now every other day she gets in a fight" I huffed out in anger.
"Uff Ayat, we only have one daughter and you are forbidding me to spoil her this is not fair," he says putting on a shirt.
"Fahad this is not an excuse for her behavior," I said getting up from the bed keeping my phone in my bag, I wrapped a dupatta around me.
"Anyway I'll deal with her, you go get ready for work," I said and walked out of the room.
I cannot believe that girl, she is spitting image of Fahad even acts like him, sometimes I wonder if she is even my daughter or not because half the time she behaves like him. Fahad also used to get in a lot of fights when he was a kid, she is just like him in every way. She sleeps like him in the same posture, eats like him, and sometimes tries to talk like him.
I want a kid who is little like me.
I drove off to her school and as I entered I saw Abira sitting pouting her hands folded across her chest, she was glaring hard looking down on the ground.
"Abira" I called out softly, she looks up at me her face softens and a smile plays on her lips.
"Ammi it wasn't my fault, he pulled my hair so I pushed him" she explains in her cute voice which she usually makes when she wants something or has done something. This trick is taught by Fahad.
"Okay, we will see that now come," I said picking her up, she wraps her small hands around my neck and her legs around my waist.
We walked into the Principal's office "Hello Mrs. Mir" she greets gesturing for me to sit, I noticed a boy sitting across from her who looked terrified.
"So, now you two tell what happened?" Ms. Khan asks both the kids.
"She pushed me," the boy says.
"Yes because you pulled my hair" Abira replied intensely glaring at him.
"Okay, Abira you apologize to him, and beta you apologize to her," I said softly.
He looks at me then at Abira "sorry" he mumbles.
"Abira," I said her name in a warning tone she groans rolls her eyes.
Just like her Abbu.
"Sorry," she says.
"I'm so sorry Ma'am for all the trouble," I said taking Abira hand to leave.
"It's alright dear and Abira be a good girl," she says looking at her.
We start to leave someone stopped me "Auntie, I'm sorry for pulling her hair" it was that boy, he is so cute and sweet, I wonder why would he even pull Abira's hair.
"It's okay Beta, aapka Naam kya hai," I said kneeling in front of him.
"Kashif," he says quietly.
"Bada hi acha Naam hai aapka," I said ruffling his hair.
"Khuda Hafiz Auntie," he says with a wide grin on his face and I noticed Abira rolling her tongue out looking at him.
This girl.
We went home Abira was silent the whole ride as we reached she quickly ran to our room Fahad was still here "I thought you had an important meeting" he was wearing casual clothes and lying on the bed with his phone.
"Oh yeah, I canceled that, my little girl fought today so we are going to celebrate" he exclaims with a proud look.
What is wrong with these two?
"That is not something to be proud of, we should be happy nothing happened to that boy" I retorted.
"Uff Ayat, it was that boy's mistake, he shouldn't have pulled my little girl's hair" he countered back defending her.
"By the way how you found out about this?" I ask with a frown on my face.
"Oh I called Ms.Khan," he says casually to which I just hummed in response.
I cannot help but smile looking at Fahad, he behaves like a big bad wolf around everyone but when it comes to Abira he is a big softie. I remember when she was born he was afraid to hold her because he thought he might drop her on the floor or might hold her too tightly, it was so adorable.
He does everything in his power to keep our daughter happy, he is always there for her let it be the silliest thing I mean look at him today she pushed someone, and he canceled the meeting because Janaab is being a proud Daddy.
"Bhabhi" Sara yelled out, yeh Mohtarma alag hi hai. Nikah hogya hai lekin fir bhi harkate vahi hai.
"Bhabhi kaisi hai aap?" She asks entering the kitchen.
"Achi hu aap btaye" I replied.
"Mai na bhut pareshan hogyi hu, Irtaza se," she says sitting on the countertop.
"Ab kya masla hogya aapko?" I question, this is the third time she has found reason to come here and blaming on Irtaza.
He is such a nice guy, Allah knows how Sara always finds problems in him, even though he was her choice still she manages to get pissed at him.
"Bhabhi koi masla nahi hai inhe bas mauka chahiye yaha aane ka" came Irtaza voice as he entered the kitchen.
She glares at him, they both are like this they annoy each other and then complain. We all thought about how Sara is going to manage all this because she is a different personality she is not someone you can tie in shackles or bound but Irtaza is exactly what she wanted as her husband, who is like her.
Mr. Know it all, just like our Sara.
"To problem kya mera Ghar hai yeh," she says taking an apple from the counter.
"I don't have any problem with it, problem Ammi ko hoti hai" he continued.
Irtaza's mother doesn't like it when Sara visits us every other week, Ammi and Abbu had told her many times this is not right but it is Sara who listens to no one.
I went back to prepare lunch as they both continued to bicker I'm happy that Sara found someone who makes her happy, who did not promise to give the world to her because she lives in the real world who doesn't want empty promises. I'm glad she found the man with whom she can be herself, after all, we all want that in our lives.
"Okay now you two end this," I said breaking the duo up.
"Where is Abira, I heard she got in a fight today?" Irtaza asks the second person of our family who has spoiled her after Fahad. In our family, everyone has spoiled her that's why she doesn't listen to me at all.
"Aruuu, Azaaa" came a loud screeching voice, Abira came running towards Sara and Irtaza. That's what she calls them when she started talking.
She has never called them Uncle or Aunt, she thinks this is much better and they both like it.
They greeted Fahad, he was not happy about Sara getting married at first, but gave in eventually.
My life has changed a lot, when Hamza died I didn't know that I could be happy again but it all changed when Fahad walked into my life. After we got married we still had our ups and downs always getting mocked by society telling us how to live our lives but everything changed when Abira was born, and soon we weren't the talk of the town.
Everyone who had doubts about our relationship was proved wrong, hell even we had our doubts at some point in time. I had difficulty believing that Fahad wouldn't leave me again, Ammi kept asking me if I'm happy in my marriage or not, but now even she has come to peace with it. Everyone in our family loves Abira because things changed after her birth.
We all are so happy because she brought light to all of our lives, I never saw myself as a mother but when I found out I was pregnant I couldn't explain the feeling of another life growing inside me. I love her more than my life, as for Fahad he can do anything for her. He changed a lot after her, he became more mature, content less angry and I'm happy to see him turning into this big softie.
I was standing in a corner adoring my family they all looked so happy Abira has everyone wrapped around her finger, all three grown-ups became kids with her, Fahad gives me a glance before walking over to me "everything alright?" He asks wiping tears that I didn't realize had rolled down my cheeks.
"I'm just happy," I said, he puts his hand around my waist and kisses on my hair.
"I love you" I whispered.
"I love you too my Ayat" he replies with a big grin on his face.
