50| Mr. and Mrs. Stevens
One year later...
Katrina's POV
Right now, life felt perfect. It felt like nothing could ever go wrong but I knew better. Life won't always be as beautiful as a rose, sometimes, it will be a rocky road. It's left for us to decide if we are going to get through that rocky road or we are going to give up on the way.
"Darling," Tayo called out before walking into the bedroom all dressed up in his wine red tux. "We're going to be late" I turned away from the standing mirror where I was checking out my bridesmaid dress. It was a tea length wine red dress. "You look amazing" Tayo complimented while coming closer to where I stood.
"The doctor got back to me yesterday" I said to him after he'd intertwined our fingers. "I'm pregnant"
Tayo's smile turned into a grin as he lifted me up bridal style and spun us around. "I'm going to be a father" he kept shouting and I couldn't help but scream and giggle at the same.
Yup, everything was perfect at the moment.
Tayo's POV
I was the happiest man alive. Well, asides from maybe Joshua who was getting married to the love of his life, yes, I was the happiest man on planet earth.
I'd be forever grateful to God that we were all able to get a happy ending. Not everyone is able to live happily ever after and I'm happy that after all we've been through, we were smiled upon.
I was going to start a family with Trina, asides getting married to her, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me.
If there's something that I've learned, it's that we're all going to make mistakes, we're humans, we aren't perfect and we're bound to do things we regret. The most important thing is that we learn from that mistake because that's what life is all about.
Sandra's POV
"Are you sure my bumb is that obvious?" I asked Daniel who was concentrated on the road.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart" Daniel said making me smile. Of course he would say I looked beautiful even if I'd grown an extra head. With another baby on the way, Daniel delighted. He and Trump keep praying that it would be a boy, but I wanted a girl this time. "And you look stunning in that bridesmaid dress"
"Thank you," I smiled, "Bella is going to kill me. I'm supposed to be at her house already" I sighed. I turned around to the back seat to see what Trump was up to since he was so quiet. "Trump! I told you to leave that tie alone. What is wrong with you?"
"It itches, mom" he whined making me roll my eyes and sighing heavily.
"Like father, like son" Daniel chuckled, "I can't wait to remove this tie either" I shook my head in disbelief with a smile.
If you ask me, I think we were all prepared for whatever life was going to throw at us at that moment. The challenges we face today are stepping stones.
Daniel's POV
It might've taken me all my youth to realize that not everything always goes as planned but I know that now. You see, while in highschool, I always dreamed of one day making Bella my wife not knowing that in less than a decade, I'd be attending her wedding to another man.
If things had gone the way I wanted and I ended up marrying Bella, maybe we would have both ended up unhappy. We might've even come to hate each other.
One thing we must learn is that God knows best. I'll be forever thankful to him for giving me Sandra and Trump and the unborn baby (hopefully a boy).
All in all, I wish Bella and Joshua all the best. They've both been through a lot. We've all been.
Joshua
You want to know how a groom feels while standing at the alter, patiently waiting for his bride to come through the door?
It feels like hell.
Hand in hand, Harry and Stephanie walked down the aisle in their wine red outfits until they got to their seat up front. I saw Steph blow me a kiss but it didn't help in calming my nerves down.
Next up, Tayo and Trina. Of course they got everyone's attention because Tayo carried his wife bridal style down the aisle. They looked stunning in their outfits too. Trina waved at me before talking her seat after Tayo had finally let go of her.
The church was filled. I'd never seen anything like it before.
Where's Bella?
I could I forget the chief bridesmaid and my best man. Daniel and Sandra didn't forget to make their own grand entrance with Trump grinning from ear to ear in front of them. They both walked up to me on the alter noticing how uneasy I was.
"Take this, you're sweating like a Christmas goat" Daniel handed me a white handkerchief and I used it in cleaning my forehead.
"Take a deep breath" Sandra instructed me with both her hands on my shoulders. I inhaled deeply and exhaled. That did some good. They took their seat next to Bella's mom and Joy afterwards.
The paparazzi was everywhere. They had flown to Nigeria just to capture the Hollywood actress and the billionaire's wedding live. Personally, I thought it was too much but Bella didn't mind since she was the one who insisted we had the wedding in Nigeria.
John Legend began singing his hit song "All of me" and everyone immediately stood on their feet. Yes, we had paid John Legend to come and perform his song at the church but at that moment I didn't care about the song or any person in the room.
At first, when she walked in through the door, all I could see was white light but as she further walked down the aisle, I couldn't blink. She looked divine. On a normal day, I would never have believed the goddess walking down the aisle was Isabella Nwankwo. She was glowing.
Next to her step dad, Tony, you would never have guessed he was old enough to actually be her biological father.
My heartbeat was fast. It almost felt like my heart would jump out of my chest with every step they took closer to the alter.
Today, I marry the love of my life.
Isabella
So this is what getting married feels like. I was happy, excited, scared, nervous and shy all at once and the paparazzi that kept flashing camera lights in front on me thereby blocking the long aisle, wasn't helping.
Will this people get out of the way so I can go meet my husband already?
My cheeks were already hurting from smiling and grinning already. I didn't need anyone to tell me that the five different makeup artists Sandra hired did a fantastic job on my face and although it took nearly three hours, it was worth it. I mean, you don't know the definition of torture till you have to seat still for more than two hours and have ten different pairs of hands touching your face, pulling your hair and painting your nails.
Finally getting to the alter, Tony had said some things to Josh but I wasn't paying attention because I was too busy staring at the handsome man that would be my husband in a few minutes.
"You look divine" Josh whispered after Tony had handed me over to him and we walked hand in hand to meet the priest.
Sweet Jesus, I hope all this makeup will hide my red face.
Wait, I forgot I'm dark skinned.
Of course, my wedding dress was making things a bit different since it was a ballroom dress. The largest size. So you can imagine how long the vail would be.
My heart was pounding out of joy and excitement to the extent that I didn't pay attention to what the priest had been blabbing for about twenty minutes.
I was getting married to the man of my dreams, you wouldn't blame me.
"Isabella," Josh cleared his throat. Yup, it was time for vows but deep inside, I was like "Can we just fast forward to the part where we kiss?"
"A good number of people here can bare us witness that we've been through a lot. And I learned a lot from everything we went through" Josh said, "I learned that love is where you find it. I learned that things don't always go as planned and that bad things are always bound to happen and after I'd lost my memory and I had no memory of our time together, the love I felt for you was still there, it didn't go anywhere" he paused to wipe the tears falling from his eyes and I did the same. "One thing I love about loosing my memory is that I got to fall in love with you all over again. I will always love you Isabella Nwankwo"
"Joshua Stevens," I started after I tried to put myself together. I was never an emotional person, I don't know what was wrong with me. "I would be lying if I said that I ever stopped loving you. Even while we were apart, you were still in my heart. I promise to be the best wife I can be. I will be there by your side both in good and bad times. My heart beats for you, Josh" I wiped my tears hoping I hadn't ruined my makeup already.
We exchanged rings before the priest said, "Do you, Isabella Kamsiyochukwu Nwankwo take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do"
"Do you, Joshua Olusegun Stevens take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do"
"I pronounce you, man and wife" said the priest, "you may--" and before the priest could even finish his sentence, we were already kissing each other passionately with the congregation going wild.
_______________
"Sooo, we're going to play a little game and after this, there will be a dance off between the bride and groom" Tayo announced and everyone screamed excitedly.
Josh and I did as Tayo instructed. We both removed our shoes and Josh gave me one pair of his, and I did the same. So, I had one pair of my shoe and one pair of Josh's shoe. I didn't quite understand the game until Tayo explained, "We're going to play a game of who most likely" he said. "So when I ask a question, you tell me who's most likely to do that by raising the person's shoe, okay?" we both nodded and he proceeded.
"Okay, here we go" he looked down at the paper in his hand, "Who's more likely to insist on paying for food when you go on dates?" I raised Josh's shoe without hesitation and Josh did the same.
"Who tells the biggest lies?" Tayo asked and Josh immediately raised my shoe while giving me a look that said, "don't lie o" so, I rolled my eyes before raising my shoe too making everyone to laugh.
"Who's mostly likely to sleep on the floor if the bed would only accommodate one person?" we both knew the answer to that so there was no need in lying. Josh and both raised his shoe and the crowd went "aww"
"Who's most likely to lock the other out of the bedroom" I giggled before raising my shoe knowing fully well what I was capable of and Josh did the same making everyone burst into laughter.
"Okay, last question" Tayo said, "Who's the romantic one in the relationship?" that was easy. I raised Josh's shoe while Josh raised mine with a grin.
Soon, we were on the dance floor. I was already feeling exhausted but not until Daniel said, "Okay, so the Mercedes Benz outside is supposed to your wedding gift but, I decided that anyone who wins this dance off would take it. So, I need you to dance for ten minutes and the audience will decide the winner" Daniel dropped the mic and signaled for DJ to play music.
This should be easy, Josh can't dance, I thought until the DJ started with Lalakukulala by Oladips. I to stand there in shock and watch Josh display his shakuku moves. I soon picked up and displayed my own moves too but when Josh began dancing gwara gwara, I knew I'd lost. The crowd went wild. I never knew my husband was such a dancer, I'd definitely underestimated him.
O boy, come and see whining
I even had to stop to watch him dance and others cheered him on. He eventually won the dance off and I just couldn't believe it.

"Don't underestimate me next time" Josh said with a smirk as we slow danced.
"Are you seriously bragging right now?" I raised an eyebrow at him, "In fact, you're not touching that car sef" I said and he laughed. "I'm sure you and your best man planned this. Evil people" I said while hitting his chest and he laughed more.
"You are something else, Isabella" his laughter died down and he looked at me with those beautiful set of eyes, "I love you, wifey"
"I love you too, hubby" I responded and we both giggled.
I couldn't have been happier.
