KATERINA

I still can't believe I was asked to tutor Isabella. I'd rather do anything other thing than spend a whole forty five minutes with Isabella Nwankwo.

The girl was rude and so full of herself. She looked like an angel but actually a devil in disguise.

Today was Friday and it was almost break period already. I didn't talk with Bella yesterday since I spent most of the time looking for her.

The bell rang, meaning it was time for break.

Yepee!

"so are you really going to teach Isabella?" Stephanie asked. She was my seat partner and also my new friend.

She was the twin to Joshua. For some ridiculous reason, people found him handsome. And Josh liked Isabella a lot.

Don't judge me, I'm just observant.

"I have to" was all I said while watching people rush out of the class.

Tayo smiled at me before he walked out of the door with Daniel.

I smiled sheepishly forgetting Stephanie was still with me.

"Those people aren't good for you. Trust me" and by those people she means- Isabella, Tayo, Daniel and Sandra. "I just hope you're not beginning to catch feelings for Tayo, you don't want to get yourself involved with those people". She left before I could even say anything.

I still can't understand why she hates them so much, Bella in particular.

I know Bella was rude and sassy but Stephanie's hatred had a story behind it. And I plan on hearing that story.

And by the way, her brother is head over heels for Bella so I shouldn't be the one she should be warning.

With the class being scanty I turned around to see Bella mindlessly flipping through the pages of her note.

I took the opportunity to approach her before she would disappear like yesterday.

I took my books and went over to her seat.

"get lost" she spoke before me.

"but Mr. Kofi said-"

"I don't care what your further maths teacher said. I don't need a tutor. I'm doing fine on my own, thank you" she cut me off with a dismissing tone.

"I'm only trying to help you, but if you keep up with your sassy and toxic attitude you'll die lonely". Okay, I didn't realize I was pissed off until I said that,

She shot me a death glare and she was obviously flabbergasted that the new girl was talking to her in that manner.

She stood up and we were facing each other. Eyeball to eyeball.

Now I could see the resemblance. She had eyes as big as mine and our nose and lips were pretty much the same.

Tayo said I looked and talked a lot Bella but knowing Tayo, he joked about everything so I didn't believe him.

"you're trying to help me? Oh so now I look like some charity case. If you're looking for people to help, there are millions of orphans and beggers out there" she was more pissed than I was but I couldn't help but feel more insulted and foolish for even trying to help her.

"you're crazy, to think I even wanted to help a nut case -"

Wham!

That's the sound you hear when you're being interrupted by a slap.

My cheeks hurt. It must be red by now...

Isabella slapped me....

I held my left cheek in awe and that's when I remembered some people were in the class with us...

"oh my God, did Bella slap Katerina?"

"that Katerina get big mouth"

"omo this one na savage versus savage"

"the girl na low key savage sha"

"o boy, the slap carry anointing oo"

Those were the comments coming from my classmates...

"what is happening here?" aunty Lara, our English teacher shouted with her high pitched voice while walking into the class
I was about to respond with "nothing" when one idiot said "they were fighting".

ISABELLA

To God who made me if I happen to catch that lizard that calls himself Junior I'll crush his small head.

Junior was the thirteen year old short boy in our class who told Miss. Lara I was fighting with that good for nothing Katerina or whatever her name is.

Now, we were asked to mop the floors of the entire building including the classrooms.

This was all her fault. If she had just left me alone and went to hell with her further maths this wouldn't have happened.

It was nearly time for dismissal and we were still mopping, at least we were doing it silently.

Katerina made me look like the bad person and I hated it.

I'm going through a lot and the last thing I need is to go back to the person I used to be. The troublesome Isabella.

I'm literally failing at everything. I can't even seem to prove to anyone that I've changed. My mom acts like I'm invisible, Joy keeps fantasizing on how her university life will be like even Sandra seems to be distant.

The only prove I have of my existence is the flattering messages Joshua keeps sending.

Joshua is nice, charming, handsome, gentle, name it all but I'm not exactly thinking about boys or a relationship right now. Been there, done that.

What's really bugging me is that my mom is getting married to some stranger and they're coming on Sunday. At least I'd get to meet my stepsister.

We finally finished mopping without saying a word to each other and just in time, it was already time to go home.

I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the building.

"Bella!" someone called from behind and I turned to see Joshua running after me. I stopped walking and waited for him. "I just wanted to make sure you're still up for tomorrow"

"of course" I forced a smile. He looked delighted to hear that.

"okay, I'll pick you up by six" his smile was contagious. The sun reflected on his fair skin making it glow from the little sweat on him.

He smells really nice too.

We were still talking when Daniel appeared out of nowhere.

"can you excuse us?" Dan asked Josh without even saying hello.

"Daniel we're -"

"don't worry, I'll see you tomorrow then" Joshua interrupted me.

"okay" I smiled weakly. He pecked me on the cheeks before walking away.

I blushed so bad that I didn't know when I started smiling.

"when you're done day dreaming you'll tell me, as you can see I'm waiting" and that's how Daniel ruined the moment.

"I don't understand what's your problem, why did you interrupt us like that?" I was really pissed at Daniel.

"I asked him to excused us, it's not like I just ignored him and started talking to you" Dan defended

"okay now he has excused you, Mr. President, what did you want to tell me?" I couldn't wait to get out of here I was so tired from all that mopping.

"I was going to remind you about our outing tomorrow"

"you didn't have to remind me" I face palmed

"so is he your boyfriend now or what? This one he's kissing you on the cheek anyhow" Daniel asked with usual jealously tone he always uses anytime Joshua is the topic.

"are you jealous?" I teased

"what sort of question is that? You know the answer to that question. We were dating when you suddenly just left and then come and decide you don't want the relationship anymore and you expect me to be cool with everything even when you know it kills me to see you another guy" He said in one breath

"I'm not dating anyone okay? At least not for now" I said

"and what if he asks you to be his girlfriend tomorrow, what will be your reply?" Daniel asked with a much more calm voice.

I hadn't really thought about it. What if Joshua was going to ask me to be his girlfriend?

"I don't know" I replied in a hush tone

" 'I don't know' is the same as 'yes'" Daniel shook his head slightly before walking away leaving me there.

I'm still working on the chapter length but this one is longer and I hope you enjoyed it.
