Chapter 25
Darcy glared as she looked towards Clarissa's direction.
Clarissa.
One of our rivals for as long as we can remember... Well since 9th grade has started at least, but it felt longer than that.
“Yes puh-lease. I don’t want to be around certain people who I will not name, but I’m looking at right now.”
Clarissa returned the glare and practically charged towards her but her friends for the first time actually did something useful and held her back before she could do anything.
“What’d you say, bitch?!” She shrieked, her eyes filled with rage.
“What you heard.” Darcy sassed, arms on her hips. She looked at the girls that were holding Clarissa back.
“Ladies, I appreciate you holding back your little barbie doll but honestly, let the hoe fight me if that's what she wants. She is… A whole gangsta isn’t she?” she chuckled.
“Oooh.. you little bitch. You're paying for what you just said to me.”
“Okay, you think I’m scared of you? Acting all tough on Audrey she’s a nice girl that won't do anything. But me, I ain’t taking that shit. Come at me bitch!” Darcy said, putting her hoodie on.
Which was pretty damn smart since a lot of girls seemed to go for the hair when fighting. But what wasn't smart was her fighting. I didn’t want her to get in trouble.
“Darc please!” I held her back.
“Audrey, this blonde bitch has been a bitch to you for too long now. Someone needs to put her in her place.”
I backed away a bit as Darcy passed by me and went on. I kept backing away until I hit someone.
“Sorry I’m sorry.” I quickly apologized. The guy gave me a look as he kept walking.
What was his problem?
I gasped as Darcy swung at Clarissa.
Clarissa caught it before tossing her to the ground. She started punching her several times before I ran to Darcy, only to be held back by her stupid friends.
Damn, the girl actually knew how to fight! I did not see that coming.. Yes.. I know she’s in a gang.. but either way.. I did not see that coming.
Darcy had managed to switch their positions and she had Clarissa’s wrists pinned to the ground. She started punching her faster than the speed of light.
Her friends let go of me and quickly ran over, her punching got even faster as they started dragging her away. She wanted to finish her up as badly as she could before they can take her away.
Oh my god…
I’ve never seen Darcy like this.
Luckily Darcy’s face wasn't crazy damaged… Clarissa just managed to leave one bruise while HER face, it was a whole another story.
Teachers had quickly ran over to break them up. I quickly followed close behind the teacher who started walking them both to the Principals office. As I did so, I ended up crashing with the same dude I crashed into before.
He gave me a scowl.
“Can’t you ever watch where your going” He hissed before walking away.
“Sorry I-” I had started to say until I realized he was gone.
I sighed.
“I’m sorry Audrey but please go to class.” One of my teachers said.
“Darcy and Clarissa are going to have a long talk with the principal.”
“But-”
“Audrey, please.”
I sighed and walked to class, just hoping Darcy wouldn't get in too much trouble. As I sat down in my assigned seat, I looked around. Nobody was in their assigned seat since there was a substitute teacher.
How amazing.
I just stared down at my hard cover textbook.. I don’t know if I was expecting it to disappear or something but I stayed staring at it until the doorknob swung open, I turned to glance over at the person.
It was none other than Isaac.
Thank goodness the teacher was absent today because she would be hella mad right now if she were here. He looked hella stoned, his eyes were red. I watched as he passed by to get to his seat.
“What’s up Audrey, checking Robinson out?” I heard someone comment loudly.
The whole class snickered. At that moment I just wanted to shrink and run away.
“Who said that?” He snapped, getting up.
I looked over at him giving him an, “It’s okay just ignore them” look but someone had kept rubbing it in.
“Wow, the deafy actually has her boyfriend defend her.”
I face palmed.
“Okay that’s it, when I get my hands on you-” he growled, charging at that person.
I ran to his side and grabbed his arms, surprised when he let himself get held back. I took his hand, him still shouting at the person who made the comment. I practically dragged him out of the classroom.. Determined as fuck not to let another fight happen because of me.
“Umm.” I trailed off when we were outside. I felt awkward talking with Isaac after what had happened between us when he was drunk.
“Isaac…”
I stopped talking when I saw that same boy who kept glaring at me earlier pass by. He was with some of his friends, a bigger one and another one with red hair and a freckled face.
I hate to get all observant but he was the good-looking of the bunch, regardless I could tell he was a jerk when Isaac gave him a glare. He was almost a head taller than Isaac, that didn't make him back down from glaring at him though.
“What you lookin’ at blondie? You got a problem with me?” The boy snapped, as he noticed Isaac's staring. He walked towards us.. actually towards Isaac.
“Don’t you remember me Leo?” Isaac scoffed in disbelief. The scowl on Leo's face suddenly shifted into a confused look on his face.
“Mister Robinson and Miss Carter, please go back to class now or I’ll have to call the office.” Mr. Grover warned us as he passed by. I nodded at him then looked back at Leo, who looked surprised as fuck, his jaw dropping a little.
“Hold up, Robinson? Are you-”
“That’s right, ‘Blubberface’.”
Blubberface? What was he talking about?
He snapped out of his shock after a few seconds before just snickering. But the redheaded one whispered at Leo. “Is that fucking Isaac from elementary?!" I read his lips say as he whispered, Leo too stunned to respond to him.
“You got some glow up." Leo admitted after a few seconds of just looking at Isaac in shock, seeming somewhat impressed.
"Maybe they were old friends?" I thought with hope, though I could tell they weren't since Isaac looked like he wanted to beat the guy up.
"Too bad you’re still the same shortass I knew 7 years ago though.” He finished with an evil smile as he took a few steps towards him. Nevermind.
“You know this dude?” The big one asked, confused over Leo and the other one knowing who Isaac was.
“Ah yes.. We were the best of ‘friends’.” Isaac answered for Leo, sounding sarcastic. Part of me wanted to ask Isaac, or maybe even those boys what the heck was going but I didn't. Instead I hook my hand around Isaac's arm, trying to make him walk away with me.
“Isaac, let’s go back to class.” I spoke gently. He was starting to listen, but the kids had to ruin it by adding on.
“Wow Robinson, you even got yourself a girlfriend! Congrats!!" Leo grinned as he clapped loudly, it was obvious his comment wasn't meant to be taken as a compliment. "A really ugly one, but better than nothing I guess.’’
Me stomach dropped as I saw the blaze in Isaac's eyes, he gently moved me away before he turned to look at Leo and his friends.
His fists tightened into balls as the bunch laughed loudly after Leo's comment. “Don't fucking talk about her that way!” He lunged towards Leo but I stepped in between them before he can hurt him.
Even after Leo's comment I didn't want Isaac to get hurt because of him, Leo was much taller and muscular than him.
“What, you’re gonna tell me your chick is hot?" Leo just had to add fuel to the fire.
"Maybe putting her next to Satan.. Actually that would even an insult to him.” The redhead added, they started laughing harder than before.
“Okay you son of a bitch that’s enough!!" I jumped at the sudden boom of his voice, the guys doing the same. Their laughter died down, uneasiness in their faces.
"Did your mother even teach you anything?” He yelled as he grabbed Leo by the collar.
“Look who's talking, as if you even had a mother.” Leo said, the color leaving the redhead's face, as if even he knew that Leo had taken it too far.
I could tell he hit a soft spot when I looked at Isaac, who looked like he was about to cry. It was hard to tell though since his face hid it with his scowl.
“How would she even talk to you? Oh yeah that's right you spoke to her ghost perhaps?” Leo derided, the redhead giving him a 'that's-enough' look.
I glowered at Leo and looked back at Isaac, squeezing his shoulders. "Are you okay?" I asked gently, holding onto him to ease him down. His eyes stayed glued to Leo, despite the fact they were getting glossy.
"Or maybe you use a ouija board?" Leo continued. My heartbeat quickened seeing Isaac's pupils shrink as a deadly glare formed on his face.
I knew that was the final straw, my eyes widened hearing a loud roar come out of Isaac, grabbing a crowd of people's attention.
He rushed to Leo's side faster than lightning, it almost looked like something you would see in a movie.
“Don’t you fucking talk about my mom that way!” He caught Leo off guard with a punch that sent him straight to the floor.
I heard a whole bunch of gasps, a whole bunch of students circled around to watch.
I was hella scared for Isaac, those 3 were bigger than him.. I couldn't imagine the damage they could do to him. I could tell everyone thought the same, as I heard some side conversations.
"Damn I feel bad for the new kid, Leo's gonna kick his ass." He cackled, his friend agreeing. "Yeah.. Poor idiot." There were many more similar comments but that was the only one I paid attention to before I faced Isaac again, my heart racing as Leo's face darkened. Isaac was so done. Or at least, I thought. My eyes bulged as Isaac caught the punch, everyone going silent.
Wh-
"Argh!" I could hear a crack as Isaac twisted Leo's arm back, sending him to the ground with another punch.
"Damn!!" A kid shouted.
My heart raced as Leo's friends jumped in. Maybe he beat Leo, but there was no was he stood a chance with his friends. They were two, as well as much stronger-looking guys. But he managed to leave the crowd quiet again as he dodged all the guys attacks, at one point letting the Ronald dude and the red haired boy crash together when they tried to hit him.
He pinned Leo down to the floor as he kept punching him until blood was dripping down Leo’s jaw and people were recording the fight on their phones.
"Holy shit!" A kid shouted loudly. "This guy isn't playing around!"
I found myself frozen in shock as the crowd began to cheer loudly for Isaac, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I gasped quietly as I looked at Isaac's fists, they were smeared with Leo's blood. If it weren't for Leo's friends pulling him off of Leo, I wonder what would've happened.
The hefty one lifted Isaac up and pushed him to a locker, allowing Leo to punch the air out of him with a stomach punch.
Leo growled as he wiped his jaw, a whole bunch of blood smearing on his hand. "You fucking bastard!" He raged, before throwing a punch at Isaac.
"Isaac!" I tried to get to them but couldn't since the crowd was blocking my path. He was about to punch him again, until someone got Leo into a headlock before shoving him to the ground.
It was Jonas, thank goodness he arrived. I would've gotten scared if those kids ended up hurting Isaac. “Nobody messes with our gang.."
"Gang?" I heard a couple of mutters ask. No wonder Isaac was so good at fighting.
I almost forgot he was part of a gang. No normal person could take 3 people down so quickly, this probably wasn't his first fight.
"Jonas!" I shouted as he jumped in.
Isaac looked around the crowd, the crowd cheering again but he just flipped them off before he marched away. I started running after him but Jona stopped me.
“Let him, he needs some time to chill off."
I sighed but nodded softly. He was probably right, and I didn't want to get on his bad side. I just hope he'd be okay.
