I walked out the door and down the street to work when I stopped because of the footsteps behind me.

"Thorin I said I'm fine, now stay away from me."

I said speeding up again trying to walk away from him, and away from the heart break.
It was to protect him, it was for the best.

"Becca what happened, why are you doing this?"

I walked up to Mount Erebor and turned around to finally face Thorin.

"I said stay away, it's for the best Thorin."

I turned back around before the tears fell and Thorin's reply was lost in the voices which filled the main entrance of his company building.

*time skip to lunch*

Fíli and Kíli had come to see me several times in the last hour but I refused them both, they'd ask about Thorin and I'm not sure I wanted to deal with that whilst working.

I had a song stuck in my head which suited the situation I was in.

"If you love me let me go, these words are knives and often leave scars the fear of falling apart, truth be told I never was yours, the fear the fear of falling apart."

I sang quietly as I worked through test results which had come back from the lab.

When the time got to 12:30 Fíli and Kíli once again came running in trying to ask me questions.

"Becca what happened?"

"I told Thorin to stay away from me."

"Why?"

"Because I'm no good for him, I'm no good for anyone."

"Becca that's not true!"

"Tell Thorin, if you love me let me go."

That was all I said before walking away and buying a sandwich for lunch.

Fíli's POV

Uncle and Becca weren't talking and it was obvious to see it was hurting them both.

"Kee what do we do?"

I asked after Becca had walked off.

"I have a plan! We lure them to a room and lock them in together until they make up."

"Baby brother you are a genius!"

I said running after Becca whilst Kíli went to find Thorin.

I came over to Becca just as she had finished her sandwich.

"Becca could you help me with some paperwork in my office please?"

I asked trying to sound convincing.

She sighed and stood up following me back to where Kee should have brought Thorin.

Now all we had left to do was get them both inside and shut the door.

Becca's POV

I followed after Fíli towards his office to see Kíli already standing outside it, he gave Fíli a thumbs up as he opened the door and they both shoved me inside.

"Boys! What are you doing, let me out?!"

I turned around to see a defeated looking Thorin stand up and move towards me.

"Oh no you don't, FEE KEE LET ME OUT NOW!"

I shouted but the door didn't budge.

"AGH!"

I screamed in defeat and sunk to the floor.

"Rebecca please just talk to me, why are you pushing me away?"

"To keep you safe Thorin, those people you talked about will be after me and looking to find a weakness in you, being together is the least safest option."

"You are my strength Rebecca, and my weakness. Yet it is not because you drag me down it is because you keep me up that you are so."

"That's not true, you need someone who's confident, who's worthy for you, who can be there for you. That is not me Thorin."

I said placing my head in my hands to try and stop the tears from streaming down my red cheeks.

Thorin knelt down beside me and engulfed me into a warm safe hug.

"It doesn't matter if that is not you, what matters is that I love you and I want you and you alone."

He said moving my hair back out of my face and kissing me lightly on the forehead.

I was still crying but this time out of joy, but I couldn't form the words to express it."

"A..Amrâlimê."

I said burying my head deeper into his shoulder breathing in his calming smell.

"I..I recognise that word yet I do not know what it means..."

I looked up in shock realising what I had said.

I was about to speak when the door opened and I fell backwards onto the hard tiled flooring hitting my head, turning my vision black as I was knocked out.
