Shane's POV

I wish I could have a great dad like that. He sounds amazing. I wish Anthony could have been a great father to me like he was to Taylor.

(After the story of Anthony beating her)

I wanna kill him. I don't care about what I said before, now I want him dead. I hope he's enjoying prison right now. Why would he do something like this to her? It's not fair to me or to her. We finished up dinner and I offered to wash the dishes. She didn't refuse.

"Hey Shane!"

"Yes?"

She walked into the kitchen and wrapped her arms around my waist. She nuzzled her face into my shoulder. "I'm bored."

"Well I'm sorry. What do you want me to do about it?"

"I don't know. Wanna play a game?"

"If this is gonna turn into some fifty shades of grey shit I swear to god!"

"NO! I mean like some Mario Kart."

"Oh, right. Yeah let me just finish up here and you set it up?"

"Yeah, but we can't play to long. We got school in the morning."

"Yep. Uh huh sure."

5 bucks says we'll be playing for a few hours. So I finished with the dishes and grabbed a Wii remote. Taylor turned on the T.V and the Wii. We sat down on the couch and started up the game.

"Who do you play as?" I usually play as Toad. He may be a stupid ass but he is very fast in the game. (OMG if you don't get the reference that's coming up soon I'm going to kill all of you!)

"I normally play as Rosalina. Always. You?"

"Toad."

"Have you heard of that song about toad?"

"Noooo..."

"I don't remember that song title, only the last few lyrics."

"Well sing it, maybe I'll know."

"Okay. (Singing)

He swears that he's bi we're pretty sure it's a liiiiiiiiie!

But either way, a fungi who says... Hey!"

Taylor's POV

I saw this video a long while ago on YouTube, some guy who's channel was something like Brental...Brental... BREANTALFLOSS! Yeah, that's it! He was super funny and he adds lyrics to game sound tracks that don't have lyrics. So after my little singing break out, Shane just stared at me with the biggest WTF face in the world.

"Literally WTF man! So according to this random guy, Toads, gay."

"Yep."

"Well now I admire him even more now. HE probably took a lot of beatings like I did in high school. Except he probably went to shroom school."

"Yeah. Sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean it"

"Its fine. I'm used to it."

"Well you shouldn't be."

I scooted over next to him on the couch and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You shouldn't have to deal with this kind of stuff."

"I just said don't worry about me. I've got enough to worry about right now."

"Oh really? And what is it that your worried about?"

"The fact that you left your remote sitting their and I already started the game!"

I quick turned towards the T.V to see the countdown starting.

"Aw fuck you Shane!"

2...1... GO!!!

I had barely enough time to grab my controller and start after Shane already had a 10 second head start. We played for the rest of the night. I had so much fun. We even played online against other people. And obviously, we lost. I looked at the clock after our tenth round and saw that it was almost midnight.

"Shane, we need to get some sleep. Its midnight."

"Aww, one more round. PLEASE?" He gave me the puppy eyes.

"NO! Shane I don't want to fall asleep in the middle of my classes because of this. Come on. Or else..." I laid down right on top of his lap. "I'm not getting off of you."

"You realize that I'm stronger than you right?"

"I was afraid you were gonna say that. But please can we get some sleep?"

"UUGGGHHH!!! Fine. On one condision. We sleep in your bed. Last night was too cramped. That twin bed can only do so much."

"Okay whatever Shane."

"What? Did you want to sleep alone or on the floor tonight? Cause if that's the case, then I'll sleep alone."

"Okay!"

We turned off the Wii and T.V and walked into the bedroom. I got into my warm fleece stitch pj's and climbed into bed while Shane wore a T-shirt and boxers. I gave him the 'Are you kidding me?' look and he just started laughing.

"What's so funny Shane?"

"That!"

"What are you talking about?"

"That look that you gave me! It's too cute and funny I couldn't help it."

"Okay then..." I rolled on my side and Shane laughed even harder. I eventually joined him. This was getting stupid now. This has happened to me and a few friends before, when we couldn't stop laughing. I told them that we would get the laughing disease if we didn't stop. They believed it. Did I mention we were like 7 and 6? We finally calmed down and I rolled back over to face him. His eyes were droopy and you could tell they were gonna give in soon.

"Good night Shaney."

I kissed his forehead and saw a small smirk grow on his face.

"Good night babe."

My heart froze. BABE!? Dafuq is happening! I think I'm gonna die. My face warmed up. It sounded adorable when he said it though, not in any way that could lead to something more like with Adrian, my ex from my old town. He called me babe and tried to hurt me. He is now in prison for attempt at murder and child abuse. So, winning! I closed my eyes with happy thoughts. Knowing that Shane, would never be an Adrian. Right?
