~ Chapter 2 ~

"Eyre. Eyre!" My eyes snap open and I pull my gun out, aiming it at the voice. My vision is still hazy but I can clearly make out red hair, so I lower the gun and let out a breath of air.

"Jeez, Yona. Next time you want to wake me up just... wait, never mind. Don't. You might lose a finger or something." I grumble and she nods, still smiling. I take a look around.

"Where is everyone?" The tent isn't packed up since I'm still in it but the sun is just peeking over the trees. The embers are put out and Hak, Kija, and Yun are no where in sight.

"They just left for a river a couple miles away. If we pack up quickly we can make it to them in a few minutes. Kija took your bag since it'll weight us down when we're catching up." Yona informs and I nod my head, my attention now directed on the tent.

~*~

"Mr. White Snake. You must be exhausted from the unfamiliar traveling." A voice near by says. The only person that could be considered a white snake is Kija, so the person saying the words is Hak.

"Call me White Snake one more time, and I will slash your throat. Of course I'm not tired." Kija says and I chuckle.

"Oh, I just figured you'd be homesick by now." Hak says nonchalantly. Yona and I's eyes go back and forth between the two, like a tennis match.

"Nonsense, the princess wanted me. She said to protect you if anything happens."

"Can you fight when you've lived in a bubble?" Fed up with the fighting, Yona punches the both of them underneath the jaw. I burst out laughing while she scolds the two.

Hak and Kija's friendly relationship is just too funny.

"Let's go already!" Yun yells at us all and I run forward.

"So, where to?" I ask and Yun pulls out a map.

"Dunno. Kija, you can sense where the other dragons are, right?" Kija steps forward.

"Of course. If I can sharpen my mind's eye, I can sense them."

"Then, tell us who's the closest." Kija closes his eyes and for the few seconds his eyes are closed, a map appears in my head. There, a blue dot closest to us flashes while a green dot and yellow dot stays farther away. Kija opens his eyes and the map disappears.

"It seems as if the closest is the-"

"Blue dragon." I interrupt and their attention flashes to me. Kija looks at me weirdly.

"Yes... How did you know?" I shrug and we all continue forward.

"No idea. When you closed your eyes and concentrated, a map appeared in my head and there was a blue, yellow, and green dot. The blue one was the closest." I explain and Hak turns to Kija.

"Well, it seems as if we don't need you anymore, White Snake. Shoo, shoo." Hak flicks his hand and Kija blushes furiously.

"I am still one of the dragons and the princess needs me! She asked me herself to protect you!" It seemed as if another argument would break out so I ended up blasting a horn alarm into their ears. They clutch their ears painfully and I turn it off.

"Shut up. Now." I warn and bring up my gun, my hair shadowing my eyes, while clicking the safety lock off. Although they have no idea what it means, they understand that it's dangerous.

"Yes, m'am.." Kija says miserably and Hak turns his head away stubbornly.

"Anyway, where is it?" Yun asks and I let Kija take it, since I already stole his thunder.

"Hmm... I felt it over there, to the left." He says, point in said direction.

"Jeez, the location is so vague." Yun quietly complains. Kija puffs out his chest proudly.

"Do not worry. Everyone just follow me." He walks forward and Yun blows another fuse.

"I do worry! I worry about tagging along with someone who's never been outside!" He snaps and I hold a hand to my mouth, trying to silence my laughs.

"I have knowledge of the outside world without being in it. Our clan traveled all over and collected information." As soon as those words leave his lips, the next step he take give his a one way ticket down a ditch. We all run forward while I giggle at the convenience. At the bottom of the ditch, there he lies, all covered in dirt. Once opening his eyes, a creepy millipede greets him.

"W-w-w-w-w- What are these?! Who gave you the right to station yourselves here?!" It crawls onto his shoe and the poor boy is close to tears.

"W-wait stop! Do not come any-" I drop a small caterpillar down the ditch and it lands on his nose.

"Ha?" Next thing we all know, he's screaming and yelling for dear life down there. Dead panned, Yun says.

"Hakuryuu-sama, just stay in the back and slowly follow us."

~*~

"Ewww.. I can still feel them crawling all around me." Kija whines as he quickly walks in a circle, me batting off the stray millipedes and beetles.

"So the dragon god's weaker than bugs." Hak teases and Kija flips.

"T-that's not it! I just don't like crawly, slimy, critters." I fold my arms and nod my head, agreeing.

They always were a pest back at the mansion and family campouts in the backyard...

"My power was given by the proud White Dragon! Not some power of an ordinary person!" Hak fakes a slightly surprised face.

"Hey, another centipede." Kija immediately freaks out and starts batting his arms.

"Well, it doesn't matter. I'm not gonna count on a dusty ancient power."

"What?! Do you want to try it out right here then?!"

"Oh?" Their small glare off cuts short when the three of us hear footsteps. Hak steps in front of Yona protectively.

"Princess, go hide." He warns.

"Hak?" I shove Yun and Yona behind a bush, silencing them.

"They're bandits, most likely. Their footsteps are uneven. You two, hide."

"W-what about you?" Yona asks me with concern. I pull out my pistol and twirl it around my finger, giving her a wink.

"I'm not weak, y'know." Then, behind me, a man speaks out. Many others surround us and Hak, Kija, and I stay in a relatively close back to back.

"Hey, it's out payday."

"Man, they don't look like they've got much."

"There's two girl over there. And this one would make an even bigger profit, with her eyes." He steps close to Kija. "This guy's dressed nice and also has a pretty face that'll sell well." His knife taps Kija's cheek and Kija look over at us.

"Hey, it's no issue if I slash them, is there?" He asks nonchalantly.

"It's no issue if you hide, either."

"Do what ever the hell you want, I need to test my Beretta on an actual human anyways." I reply darkly. The bandit grabs ahold of Kija's hand but takes it back immediately, his palm red and raw.

"Hey, what happened?!" His friend asks from right next to him.

"I-I don't know but his hand is hot like it's boiling!"

"Huh? Quite saying stupid-" A turquoise light pulses from Kija's bandaged hand and I grin.

"You shouldn't touch me so carelessly." He says and the bandits back up in fear. "This power has waited thousands of years to protect its master. Even I cannot control it." At that, the bandages rip off and his arm grows in size. The bandits freak out, backing up even more and a dangerous glint flashes in Kija's eyes.

"I've kept you waiting, arm of the White Dragon." And with a great leap forward and one swipe of his arm, five bandits are knocked out.

"H-he's a monster!" They all freak out and I raise my gun into the air. A great BANG sounds through the forest and fear flashes through their eyes as they turn to me as well.

"Nasty, despite your pretty face." Hak comments while pushing a bandit away.

"This is not enough. So, Hak, shall I protect you, too, as the princess ordered me to?" He asks.

"No thanks." The clothe covering Hak's giant spear is throw off and shines against the sun. "I don't need it." Swipe after dodge , it's like he's merely playing around with them.

"Hak, dear, don't play with your food!" I yell and a bandit loses his hand, and loud bang resonating before it.

"W-who are these guys!? They aren't normal!" I shoot his foot and he crumples with an agonizing yell.

"How rude. Whit Snake over there is the only abnormal one." Hak jumps back as soon as he says the sentence, narrowly evading a white clawed hand. They both glare at each other.

"Who were you aiming at, Shirohebi-sama?" Hak calls and I keep the bandits off their back for the short moment.

"I told you I would slash your throat if you called me White Snake again."

"It doesn't mean you should do it!" I yell.

"Aren't you a little too excited? You stand out too much."

"It is my extreme happiness to protect the princess."

"Hak! Kija! I need to reload and you guys haven't helped for the past 30 seconds! Which, is a lot of time is situations like this!" I yell and punch a bandit in the face.

Oh wait! I have another gun!

"Sorry!" They chorus at me before the three of us regroup to a back to back stance. I quickly reload my empty gun and bring out my second, fully enjoying the fact that I get to use my gun skills in a situation like this.

Now this is the excitement I need in my life.

"Let's go." Hak says and he jumps forward. Kija also launches himself at some more bandits and I fire away, two at a time.

"They aren't normal! Not normal at all!" I hear Yun cry out from behind the bush. Without even looking, I quickly shoot past his ear and he freezes up.

"I can hear you, Yun dearest." I call out sweetly. A moment of reloading my guns later, an arrow flies past me and hits a bandit that was aiming for Hak. I give Yona a thunbs up before returning to my outdoor shooting gallery.

"Don't move, ladies. You'll be our hostages." At those mere words, I aim my gun again and shoot the bandit right between the eyes, hitting him dead on. Kija and Hak both jump and catch Yona, asking her if she's all right at the same time.

"Is it over?" I take a survey of the bandits before twirling the guns on my finger again, blowing at the barrels, then shoving them back into the sash behind me.

"Yep."

"How many did you take down?" Kija asks Hak smugly.

"Huh? I don't remember."

"I took down twenty-eight."

"Then I got forty."

"Don't lie! You said you didn't remember!"

"Ladies, ladies. We all know the winner is the woman that shot down forty-six exactly." I speak and Kija fumes, obviously having to had tried impressing Yona. Then, a look of pain flashes across his face and he drops down on one knee.

"Kija!" Yona ad I yell, rushing forward. His dragon arm has cuts all over it and my mind flashes to something I learned quite a while ago.

"Are you okay?" Yona asks him.

"Yes. I over-did it a little." I scoff and roll my eyes.

"You obviously aren't okay. Now, Yun, please tell me you have sea water. Y'know, salt water, except it isn't artificially made." He check his little bag before nodding and handing me a bottle.

"It took me some time to get it, so you owe me." I nod my head and gently take ahold of Kija's arm.

"I don't know if this will work, since this is a dragon arm and not a snake arm, but it's kinda the same concept." I say before pouring it over his whole arm.

"You see, sea water contains iodine and vets usually use iodine to help heal a snake's wound." I say and then close the bottle before handing it back to Yun.

"I like your fighting style. It make me happy. When I was in the castle, no one was able to keep up with me." A slight blush creeps up of Kija and I internally 'aww' at the scene.

"One day, I want to... fight..." Hak's voice had come out in slow pants and her finally collapsed.

"Hak!"

"Did he die?" Kija asks immediately and Yona slaps his head.

"He's not dead!" She scolds and Yun immediately sets to work. Once opening the top part of his robe, I see that his chest is wrapped in blood stained bandages.

"Idiot! The wound's open again. He actually hasn't healed yet. He plays it cool, but he's a wreck." Yun asks me for bandages and I hand the roll of it to him.

"A monster?" Kija gasps aloud and Yun deadpans.

"I don't think he'd like that coming from you." After finishing, I look over the horizon to the setting sun.

"We need to find a place to sleep." Yun says and looks around.

"Oh? Is there a lodge nearby?"

"We're camping out."

"Camping out?"

"We camped out just yesterday!"

"Yes! But I thought it was only for that day! Since we unexpectedly found you and it was too dark for us to find ourselves a lodging!"

"Jeez, rich kids... White Dragon, just stay in the back and slowly follow us." Yun repeats the same words he say just a few hours ago. I look to the side to see Yona trying to drag an unconscious Hak by the hair.

"Wait, princess, what are you doing?!"

"Well, Hak can't move. He needs to be carried." Yona says, flustered, before Kija picks him up and slings him over his shoulder instead.

"The dragon's arm is ten times stronger than that of an ordinary person." He says and Yona immediately lays her bow and arrows onto his left hand.

"Uh, no, just my right hand..." He says, struggling under the heavy weight. I take a look around.

"Hey... Where's my bag?" I question aloud.

"Oh, it's right here. I can carry it for you if you'd like." Kija says and I smile in thanks. So, he lays the giant duffel bag on top of Hak's unconscious body. I laugh.

"Is that revenge for him calling you a Shirohebi?" I ask and he nods darkly, a malicious smile played out on his face. We all begin walking on, Yun and I taking the front, Yona, Kija, and Hak taking the back.

"So how did you know about the iodine?" Yun asks me. I glance over at him.

"Well, where I come from you have to take this advanced school at my age. If you want. Since I'm to be the Vesper successor, I was kinda forced into it. Anyways, I was always into being a doctor and helping people out, so I know alot. I majored biology and the likes. Snakes and the iodine just happened to come up in class." I explain and he nods in amusement.

"You remember something as small as that?" I nod my head.

"Of course! In fact..." My face turns gloomy and I look to the side. "It was one of our exam questions..." Yun pats my back, not really knowing what to do. He then turns to the three.

"Hey, hurry up!" He yells and Yona smiles before running forward.

Eeeyyyyy~

Wazzup mah homies!

Quick little thing I'd like for you to read.

Anyway, I thought of putting little fun fact, kinda like one-shots at the end of the chappies. So, here ya go!

- At the end of Kija's story, Eyre didn't believe him, so he showed her his power and accidentally sliced down a tree. It landed close to the embers, almost setting the whole forest on fire.

- Eyre decided to show them the game Flappy Bird and almost had her phone chopped to bits when Hak tried to slice her phone in half with his spear, Yun helping him.

- Yona wasn't asleep when Kija and Eyre were talking the night before and quietly began to ship them, accidentally saying the ship name she made up for them (Eyja) out loud and then had her phone privileges stripped away from her.
