Happy Valentines Day to all you love birds out there... and the people like me who will probably read fanfiction and watch their friends be in love all day! ♡ ♡

It was the time for Riverdale High's annual Valentine's Day dance and Betty Cooper couldn't wait.

Most people thought that tonight would be the night that Betty got Archie Andrews all to herself, but if your really knew her, like her best friend Kevin Keller, you would know that Betty hadn't been pinning for the Andrews boy for a while now.

In fact she was planning on making a move on his best friend, Jughead Jones.

Little did she know that he was planning the exact same thing.

It was now the time for the dance and Betty was pacing around her room in her beautiful dress that her and Kevin had bought a week prior to the event.

"Betts, calm down," Kevin told her. He was lying on her bed, ready and dressed in his tux, watching his blonde friend walk around the room.

"Kev! What if he rejects me, and then we never talk again?" She asked, panic laced in her tone.

"It'll be fine, of course he will like you! Have you not seen the heart eyes you guys have?" He asks dramatically.

"I'm not sure Kev..."

What she didn't realise was that far out on the Southside of town, Jughead Jones was having the exact same conversation with Toni.

"What if she hates me after this?" He asked, looking in the mirror at himself, dressed up in his tux and iconic beanie still on.

"Look Jones, you've been stressing about this for the past two days and every time I tell you the same thing, I don't think it's possible for her to hate you." Toni said, rolling her eyes at her best friend.

"Yeah but it's still a possibility that she wont like me back." He said. If he thought he was nervous before, then right now, he was in full blown anxiety mode.

"Dude, the heart eyes between you two is sickening, trust me," she told him.

"I'm not sure Toni..."

Once at school, everyone seemed to break off into their own little cliques.  The music was soft and slow, fitting the decor of pink and hearts to a point. When Jughead walked in with Toni by his side, he immediately sort through the crowd to find his one true love, Betty Cooper.

It was Toni who noticed her first and pointed him over to her.

"Jones, over there," she said, pointing to where Betty sat with Kevin, looking as equally as stressed as Jughead looked.

Jughead swiftly made his way through the crowd, over to his blonde beauty.

"What if he doesn't even come tonight?" Betty asked Kevin, as they sat together at a table drinking punch.

"Trust me he's coming, Toni and I have it all planned out for you," he told her noticing Jughead making his way towards their table.

Jughead walked up behind her and put his hand on her shoulder, making her turn around swiftly. Her eyes lit up when she saw who it was.

"Hey Juggie"

"Hey Betts"

"I didn't know if you were going to come tonight"

"What? A school dance, that's totally on my bucket list," his sardonic humour coming out.

She laughed her beautiful laugh that made his heart flutter. He didn't know what made him love her so much. It could be her natural beauty or her compassion and determination. It could be her laugh that made the whole room smile or her piercing green eyes which softened at his touch and lit up when she was doing something she liked.

It could be so many things, but Jughead didn't know, he just knew one thing for sure, that he was in love.

"Do you wanna go for a walk with me... outside maybe?" He asked her.

"Sure Juggie," she replied, her eyes lighting up.

The couple walked off and outside together, leaving their two besties all by themselves.

"Are we going to - " Kevin started.

"Yes definitely" Toni said before they both got up to follow their friends outside.

Betty and Jug walked around outside before they stopped next and sat down on a bench, beside the garden where Toni and Kevin were watching them.

"Hey Jug?" Betty started, breaking the silence that they had been sitting in for a while now.

"Hm yeah Betts?" He asked nervously.

"Have you ever seen us as something other then friends?" She asked quietly.

The silence in the air was deafening.

"Oh, I have to go," Betty started, thinking she understood the situation.

But oh how she was wrong.

She stood up and began to walk away, until Jughead grabbed her wrist and spun her around, pulling her closer, pressing his lips to hers.

They remained together, her arms around his neck, his around her waist, their lips pressed together, for what seemed like hours, if not days, until they pulled apart. She grinned up at him.

"Juggie I -"

"All of this love that I feel for you has no explanation, it is something that I feel deep inside of me, I just feel like taking care and having you always by my side. I love you."

"Jug, I love you to," she said before sealing their love with one more sweet kiss.

While Jughead and Betty talked softly and kissed, Toni and Kevin were in the garden watching the two love birds. They'd been planning this for forever.

"Finallllyyyy," Toni groaned.

"And that my friend is the work of two amazing best friends," Kevin exclaimed, high fiving Toni.
