PERSONALITY Marlene is a nice enough person. She has her issues, sure, especially considering she had her childhood, but she does try. She's responsible, at least more so than other Bigtop Band members, for the most part, helpful, though somewhat impulsive. She's honestly just trying her best, if we're being honest here.

BACKSTORY Marlene Apollo Tulip James was born an oopsie daisies baby to Samuel and Brandy James on January 13th, {year}. Her parents would get married when she was two months old. She was five when her sister, Lottie, was born. As her parents would routinely fight, that often left her to comfort her little sister during those times. When Lottie was four, they began exhibiting powers, which, confused and scared, the James parents didn't let her use it. But, whenever they're parents were out, Marlene would let Lottie use them and help her learn to manage them. She just didn't let her use the fire powers though, as she didn't want that to go too wrong.

So, that was the life Marlene led. She was the daughter of two people who did not love each other, a father that emotionally abused her, she was a big sister, she went to school, she had some friends, all that fun stuff. And then, when she was freshly fifteen, a friend of her dad's, Kevin Newton, had been over, talking with her dad, doing whatever it is middle aged men do. When her parents passed out on the couch and Lottie had fallen asleep in their parents' room, Kevin came into Marlene's room. He talked to her a little bit before he forced her down and stripped her naked. Said he'd do something much worse to her if she tried to call for help. He raped her and then he left, leaving Marlene there alone, in shock, with some fresh new trauma.

For the next two months, Marlene just floated through life. She felt disgusting. She hated herself. Why did she let that happen? Why didn't she fight him off? And then, a little under two months later, she began suspecting she was pregnant. But she couldn't be. Right? Well, she went to CVs, stole a pregnancy test, went home, and oh look at that, two lines. So, after crying as quietly as she could, hurriedly packed some things, and, once Lottie was asleep, left.

She lived on the streets for three days, two nights. On the third night, Marlene got as cozy as she could when she was approached by none other than Miss Bigtop Babe herself. Roxie talked to Marlene a little bit, and convinced her to come back with her. She also figured out she was pregnant pretty quickly, but agreed to help her. So boom Roxie got herself a fresh new child and Marlene didn't have to raise her baby homeless, as she ultimately decided to keep him.

On October 9th, {year}, she gave birth to a baby boy whom she named Orion Jasper James. Then, a few months later in January, her mother died, shot in the head and killed by her father. She found out from the news and followed the case extensively right up to her father's police standoff suicide and her certainty that Lottie was safe and she didn't need to worry anymore. Her parents were dead, and Lottie was safe, albeit with Bruce Wayne of all people. But, still, that was better than nothing.

Shortly after Orion's second birthday, Marlene was walking out of a doctors appointment for him, when she heard a voice behind her. A very familiar voice. When she turned around, there was her little sister, who'd tracked her down (with the help of Athena's twin). They had a conversation, talked to each other, figured out where they'd each been, Orion met his aunt, it was very fun, ten out of ten. They went their separate ways, occasionally meeting when one was doing villain stuff and they other doing hero stuff but it's all good shit happens, just some friendly fire cause why the hell not. Who do they look like, Jason and Joselyn?

About a month after that, Marlene went on a walk cause apparently it's good for your mental health or something. Then, some guy approached her and attempted to pickpocket her so, like a true Gothamite, she kicked the shit out of him. They then got food, cause, well he's probably hungry. He introduced himself as Aiden Roderick, they talked a bit, learned a bit about one another and made plans to meet up again in a few days cause why not. And they kept meeting up time and time again and they kissed a couple times and he brought her gifts and they may or may not have done the bingo bango bongo in an alleyway a time or several.

Something, something, Reggie dies, more stuff happens, might give her a kid with Aiden, idk.
