Soda pop POV

It been A week since Steve and I had broke up and a week since he went to work.I'm worryed about him. What if he's hurt or something! It's not my problem where not together any more. He's still my best friend that will never change. I get up and go to the kitchen with the rest of the gang. I hear the door open then slam shut. I look over and see Steve standing in the door way. He was a mess. There was blood all over his shirt  and he had cuts that looked like someone pulled out a  blade on him. The door opens up again and Evie steps in.
"I'm going for a walk, go find pony and johnny or something."

"I don't think that's a good idea." Dall said

"And why not?" I snapped. I'm not in the mood for this.

"Look at them soda pop! There's soc's out there jumping people just for the fun of it."

"Yeah well, my baby brother is out there and that's my main thing to do is to find then before anyone else dose so if your excuse me I'm going to find pony." I push Dallas out of my way and walks out the door. I had a feeling something was  wrong. My gut is telling me to get darry and the gang but may heart is saying do it on your own.

"SODA HELP!" I look over to the park and see a soc with a gun pointed to pony and johnny.

"SHUT UP YOU LITTLE FAG!"

"Hey leave him alone!" I yell and punch the soc in the face. They get off ponyboy and Johnny and walks over to me.

"And who's going to make me pretty boy!" He yelled and pointed the gun at me. I look at them and mouth"go get help." Pony nods and starts running.

"There getting away!" The soc yelled and put the gun to my leg and shot. I see pony look back just as I hit the ground. Go get help! I'm okay baby. As if he heard me he took off faster than I ever seen him do. I felt a pain in my stomach and a warn liquid under me.

"I advise you get away from my brother before I pound your head in!" Darry said his voice cold. Soc looked at me, took another shot at me then ran off.

"Soda are you alright?" Pony said grabbing my hand and squeezed it. I try to say something but the only thing that came out was a loud sob. I felt sick and just want to crawl into a ball and sleep. My head is spinning. Before I knew it the world went black.

Hospital (pony boy's POV)

"The family of sodapop?" We all stand up fast and rush over to the doctor.

"How is soda?" I asked.

"Well he's in surgery as we speak, a bullet hit him in his stomach,leg and thigh muscles Luckily it didn't hit any organs." He said. I felt more tears swell up in my eye's and I fall to my knees and sob.

"Its okay ponyboy, sodapop is a tuff kid." Johnny said.

"Yeah, remember when he got on a fight with that soc and got kicked in the head And side but all he was worried about was you."

"Yeah." Was all I said. Darry sit me on a chair and puts his arms around me and before i know it I was a sleep.
