Ponyboy's pov

We stayed at the hospital for hours before they told us how Johnny was saying they couldn't tell us anything till Darry got here.I roll my eyes and close my eye. Before I know it I drifted off the sleep.

"Ponyboy,wake up kid there going let us see Johnny." I get up and follow the gang to.Johnny's room. We walk in and see him looking at the wall.

"John?" I asked. He snapped out of it and looked at me hurt in his eyes. What is wrong with him.

"Can you guys-"

"No,stay." Johnny said and looked at the gang.

"Johnny what is your problem?"

"Nathan."he said flatly and cold."you love him go be with him!"

"I don't love him I love you !"

"THEN WHY WERE YOU HOLDING HANDS WITH HIM IN THE  HOSPITAL! HUH PONYBOY! I THINK..."

"No."

"I think we should break up and just go back to being friends ."he said his voice a whisper.

"But.. I love you."

"Yeah and I'll Always love you but I think it's best if were just friends for now." I felt like I had just had my heart ripped out then had the whole football team step on it.

"Okay." was the only thing I said before walking out of the hospital room. I walk home and lock my self in my room crying my eyes out in my pillows. I fall back asleep hopeing this was just all a bad dream
