Sophia's P.O.V
I tried shaking Rayaan for fajr since the Azan Alarm went off signaling it was time for the first prayer of the day but she was seriously a heavy sleeper may Allah help her. Alhamdullilah we ended up praying together. I tried calling abi but his phone went straight to voicemail as usual. I didn't bother leaving a message as I got up to help Rayaan load her last minute stuff in the truck. Her room looked dull with only the bed in the center of it.
"Do you think we'll have room for all our stuff?" Rayaan asked me with doubt clear in her eyes
"Maybe, it's a two room apartment with 1 bathroom. So I hope it all fits."
"Sophia." Ummu Rayaan called me from the porch when I was in front of her she took my hand and handed me the envelope. "This is the deposit and rent money you paid the landlord I bought the apartment so that you and Rayaan wouldn't have to worry about that." She explained seeing my question look.
"Ummu Rayaan you didn't have to this." I insisted trying to hand back the envelope I was grateful her generosity but it felt weird. Because I saved up that money with the money I got from my first job. Ummu Rayaan just gave me the look that left no room for comprised it was final. I just tucked the envelope in my Purse. And walked towards the car. As I got inside I asked the driver to stop by my house because I needed to pick up something very important. I noticed I left my inhaler there. My Asthma is unpredictable and it was irresponsible of me to leave there. I just hope my triplet Half siblings Issa, Ismail and Ilhaan didn't find it and drained them all since they are all in the same place. It would be hectic because then I would have to go refile them again and the pharmacy is always too long line and would take time if they have to call my physician.
~*~*~*~*
I looked around the room I once called mine before I closed door one last time knowing deep down I'll never return. Alhamdulillah they didn't mess with my inhalers because Baba Took it away from them before they could cause any damage.
"Sophia ya binti you don't have to go" my dad said giving me a tight hug trying to convince me of not going through with my plan. He had already given me permission to leave he helped me get a part time job as an intern at this paper company. So I could save up money so be able to get an apartment I still can't believe that Ummu Rayaan bought out the Apartment from the landlord but I am grateful that she did. I still didn't know why Abi was making a fuss about this now since I was planning this for months; ever since I graduated from High school.
"Abu I want to do this, and you said I could if I wanted to."
"Na'am (yes) I know, it's just I'll miss you a lot." He said unwrapping his arms from around but not quite letting me go. "You remind me so much of her." He said letting me go
"Abu I know I get that a lot." I said closing the door of room I once upon a time called mine for the final time knowing deep down I'll never return to it. I fixed my niqab and walked out the door with my dad by my side. I sometimes am grateful I look like my mom but sometimes I wish I hadn't then my father wouldn't be sad
"Don't forget I'll be visiting you and Rayaan often" He Stated with A small smile. I was hopeful but kept it inside it's been awhile since I last saw my dad smile at me this was the longest conversation we has in what seem like forever. A lump was forming on my throat I nodded not trusting my voice I looked down because I could almost feel my eyes about to swell with tears. I hugged him tight quickly and ducked into the waiting car.
I wasn't sure why I was crying, I felt happy and also empty and lonely that Papi had finally had a conversation with me since he remarried. I pray that I could rebuild the father daughter relationship what was once strong with Allah's help and mercy.
I was grateful that Rayaan didn't sauy anything the whole car ride we finally arrived to our new home and men where caring boxes up to our room with 'Anamee (uncle) there.
"Abi what are you doing here?"
"Don't worry girls I'll leave as soon as they get everything inside your apartment and set up the beds in your rooms InshaAllah."
"Rayaan I got an Idea." I said looking at her
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Does this include our coco __."
"coconut_."
"Raysoph!" we ended up completing together
"Oh no not again." Rayaan's dad winced
You see coco-coconot-Raysoph is a type of homemade candy that Rayaan and I invented while we were homw alone and were experimenting in the kitchen. It was one of our best inventions yet consisting of: milk, tea, a lot of sugar, a lot of chocolate milk powder, and grounded cococuts alt of it. I t worked out well but let's just say the last time we made it was at Rayaan's house and while it was cooling we forgot about it let's just say Ummu Rayaan had to call the rotten control after noticing something was up it was found after a 2 weeks uneatable.
"That wouldn't happen again, InshaAllah Uncle." I gave him the reassuring eye look since my face was actually covered duh.
"Okay but if something goes wrong I don't know anything about it do understand." He said waving his pointer finger at us as a warning Trying hard to keep his facial expression straight, but I couldn't hold it in I laughed and they joined as well. Remembering Ummu Rayaan's facial expression the day the found the cause to the problem.
"That was good off you go ladies the driver will take you to the nearest place to play your products I just hope you don't poison the neighbors."
And off we went to make our faviorite homemade candy dish for our new neighbors I hope we all get along just well. And be Great neighbors like Rasulullah Sallalu Alyhi wasyalm was (Prophet of God Muhammad Peace be upon him) to his neighbors InshaAllah ( with God'sWill)
