Chapter Thirteen

BarakaAllahu Lakuma wa Baraka Alykuma wa jama'a baynakuma fi khayr

Michael P.O.V

RAYAAN's father is a very intimidating man at least  he and my brother seem to hit it off very well despite my brother being in all work no play kinda guy. as My sister Nadia she and Rayaan's mom have found that they have many things in common they are both designers. They teamed up to try and make my wedding  'spectacular' as they would put it, 'the wedding of the year' not to mention having to deal with my aunts who always on my case when it comes to my hair . My aunt Layla even brought scissors and tried to get Yusuf to hold me down so she could run it through Yusuf straight out declined. I mean come on my hair is amazing and on the plus Side Rayaan loves it. I grew out my hair the moment I realized Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him had long hair reaching his shoulders.
I am who I am today All thanks to Allah's guidance and mercy and all that he's given me considering I'm about to complete half my deen with an amazing woman in less than 24 hours, so yeah I'm very gratefu.
The night before my wedding my buddies decided to through me a halal Bachelor party as an early celebration for my wedding. 'I gotta warm up my turn up' was how Muhammad put it. 'Do the Muslim Dance.' I'm not even sure that's an actual thing but it's all up to them
We had a karaoke sing off. A lot of food that I'm pretty sure weren't all healthy if Nadia or Rayaan's mother had seen, she would seriously blow up with rage and come up with all the possible food hazards that would ruin the 'perfect' wedding. We talked And I had a lot of brothers tease me on my upcoming wedding. I don't remember when we slept but Alhamdullilah we were able to wake up for fajr pray jama'a together and clear everything up before my sister or anyone else noticed we were missing from our hotel rooms. Once I was alone I prayed for Allah to bless my upcoming marriage with happiness and joy just before Nadia came charging into my room.
~*~*~*~*~*~
We listen to the shaykh recite some Quran verses and he talked a lot about the importance of marriage and comment in Islam before he asked both Rayaan and I each three times if we accept  and we said Na'am three times before we signed which was a huge relief because I thought she was going to back out on me. Only Allah knows what's running through that head of hers.
We had lunch with the elders of both our families before we got separated again and met at the combo party later that day were I was officially allowed to dance with her. My bride was absolutely beautiful. That's when my little cousins started to sing togethers and clapping and got everyone around to sing along.
"We're here on this special day
Our hearts are full of pleasure
A day that brings the two of you
Close together
We're gathered here to celebrate
A moment you'll always treasure
We ask Allah to make your love
Last forever
Let's raise our hands and make Du'a
Like the Prophet taught us
And with one voice
Let's all say, say, say
Baraka Allahu Lakuma wa Baraka alikuma
Wa jamaah baina kuma fee khair.
Barakallah hu lakuma wa baraka alikuma
Wa jamaah baina kuma fii khair.
From now you'll share all your chores
Through heart-ship to support each other
Together worshipping Allah
Seeking His pleasure
We pray that He will fill your life
With happiness and blessings
And grants your kids who make your home
Filled with laughter
Let's raise our hands and make Dua
Like the Prophet taught us
And with one voice
Let's all say, say, say
Baraka Allahu Lakuma wa Baraka alikuma
Wa jamaah baina kuma fee khair.
Barakallah hu lakuma wa baraka alikuma
Wa jamaah baina kuma fii khair.
Let's raise our hands and make Du'a
Like the Prophet taught us
And with one voice
Let's all say, say, say
Barakallahu Lakuma wa Baraka alikuma."
Rayaan's mother got emotional after the song ended and we stopped dancing. She came up to us and gave Rayaan a tight lasting hug. Before Rayaan was taken away from me once again , but I wasn't worried because I would see her later tonight. Just the two of us. Thinking about it made me smile wider if that was even possible. I spent time with her brother Mario, though I find it very odd that they connected fast on a short amount of time it didn't really surprise me considering How much of a soft hearted person My Rayaan is another one of the many things I am grateful for.

When Rayaan finally came home it was already an around two in the morning. Wallahi people were still  jamming to weddings like no tomorrow even with out the bride and groom present.
"I'll give you a heads up right now don't even think about marrying someone else while I'm alive because I'm not too Kin on sharing what's mine. The only person I've ever shared anything with score Mario was  Sophia and I'm 100% sure she's not into you she got her eyes set on someone else. So don't even think about that." She said said when I finally helped her out of her very confining dress and she went to the bathroom to change.
"My habibty I'll treat you like the prophet treated Khadijah." I called out quoting Deen squad
"That's so corny and it sounds weird when you speak Arabic." She laughed coming out
"I got to practice since my wife is Arab, how do you say Wife in Arabic?" I asked hugging her a bit before she went to
"Zawjati"
"Yes habibty you're my zawjity."
"Is Habibty the only Arabic you know."
"No I can say Ana u hibu Zawjity."
"Oh my Allah you are so corny." She said climbing into bed
"What can I say you bring out the corniness in me." I said to her before I realized she had already fallen asleep. So I decided to go to sleep as well.
We went to Kuwait for our Honeymoon and it was beautiful and I discovered that I was right to assume that life with Rayaan would be very colorful she seems to always find a way to brighten my day without even trying or noticing. And though my heart is a small organ with most importance I love her and to be honest I can't imagine my life without her now.

When we came back Muhammad came to us for some marriage advise claiming we were the only Muslim married couple around his age that are close to he knew in this town as Rayaan was messing with my hair saying she was braiding it but it's been an a while and I still can't feel braids.

"InshaAllah we will go to Mecca together." I whispered to her as we listened to my way Deen squad remix together. On our way to Kuwait.
"InshaAllah." She said smiling with her eyes full unexplainable hope. Like our dream to see the holy land, the place were our prophet was born and Islam first began wasn't that far from tomorrow.
"All these unexplained feelings I have inside of me when ever I think of you is it really love?"
"I guess it's truly love."

Rayaan's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning feeling fully energized and decided on going on my usual morning runs after I pray Fajr Mostly everyone of my family members are annoyed that I'm a very morning person especially Sophia. She likes to go back to sleep after praying fajr. Most everyone does but as for me I'm most energized during that time and I like to burn some of it so people don't always think I'm high on sugar. Michael is still adjusting to the fact that I'm an early bird. Marriage life isn't as simple as people on TV or even my parents put it we have to find a middle ground to compromise on many thing.
There has been some issues like me almost burning down our kitchen the first day. It went down like this
After my run Michael was still sleeping so I decided to cook him something for breakfast. I've never cooked a meal in my life but how hard can it be, if Sophia and the chef at home can do it I could too decided on making a just a "simple" scrabbled eggs I don't know what happened but all of a sudden  the pan and stove went puff and both went on fire I screamed my longs off that Michael came running from the bed room with a baseball bat only to see the stove on fire he rushed to put it out.

Don't get me started on the time when Michael decided on accompanying me on the bus the day we went back to school. We didn't sit together because there wasn't any availed sits nexts to each other. Let's just say that some creepy old guy decided it was okay to hit on me. I mean the guy looked like he was four times my age subhanaAllah. Not to mention. He was Mention he was Muslim I think since he started with Assalam alykum. He kept talking to me to the point he seriously didn't get the hint that I wasn't interested even when I said I was already married. It got a bit creepy when he got off the same stop as me and Michael, my knight and shining armor came to the rescue and told the guy to back off and leave his wife alone and to prove his point he put his arms around me and we walked to campus. Alhamdullilah I decided to get off on the stop before school or I might have end up having a stalker ever since that day I had to give up on my bus life. And the time when Muhammad came to us for advice on how he should ask Zunairah's hand in marriage. It wasn't really a surprise I knew that Zunairah liked him as well they are kinda like high school sweethearts. They went to the same High School and were friends  for a long time. we both had different Ideas on that  process but in the end we agreed that as long as his intentions for her were sincere it didn't matter how he asked as long as it was the Halal way.
All in all Michael and I might have different view and are completely opposite people but I believe our love is like a connection that as time passes our love will grow in value. It still feels like a dream that we are together but alhamdulillah I wasn't dreaming when Michael entered my life. It's like my perception saw no one else and I can't imagine a life without him by my side.
"I'm not sure but in my memories I think time stopped just for a moment when we made eye contact because I stopped breathing I think the moment I realized I loved you was the day the sky seemed to have brighten up and I could picture my life with you as my wife. I love you" Michael said to me one day as we were watching TV together I looked up at him and stared into his cloudy like grey eyes that always seemed to captivate me every time I looked into them. Like they held unspoken promises.
"I Love you too and you in my team and InshaAllah Jannah will be a dream come true." I replied as I snuggled closer to him
"InshaAllah."

Even though thing had changed because I was married I still got the independence I wanted from my parents. Who have stopped fussing over me and everything I do to a major extent. At least they stopped dictating my life. Somehow whether it be indirectly or directly I got my wish and I followed my dream to become a journalist. I have a brother that I've always wanted despite his flaws I couldn't ask for anymore and Michael makes me feel happy and content I thank Allah for All that he has given me. With Allah the love that surrounds me what more could I ask for other than may Allah grant all the people I love happiness with his mercy.
