Playa' Gonna Get Played

Colton POV

Today was a shining example of why I hated Mondays; my early morning 'date' cancelled on me, I got an A- on my Chemistry test, and soon I had a library to get to.

Aaron -I guess you could call him my friend- was leaning against the locker beside mine, talking about some girl he hooked up with last night. I wasn't ever sure if he really did hook up with all the girls he said he did, but I always humored him in his attempt to impress me. We all have that one friend who's always seeking approval and following your every move, Aaron was mine.

After his annoyingly detailed story, he asked, "Have you seen Jackson?"

Jackson Steele, my best friend and worst enemy. There was only one person who was better than me at almost everything and is the valedictorian, captain of the field hockey team, and son of millionaires Jack and Arabella Steele. It was like going against Superman for a quick arm wrestle: impossible.

Before I could shake my head in response to his question, I could see Jackson peeking through the crowd. His designer jeans made everyone else's look like rags and wore his five hundred dollar leather jacket with pride. His shades sat proudly on his face along with a cocky grin. He winked at a cheerleader and tapped her on the ass before spotting me.

Jackson was clearly more outward about his life style. He thought that the 'bad boy' show would win more girls over, usually it worked, but if you wanted the sweet and innocent ones instead of girls who were mostly whores, pretending to be the nicest guy they've ever met usually won over Jackson's strategy. Sometimes I doubt if he's even playing tough guy, I'm starting to believe his girl winning scheme finally got him to believe his own lie.

"Sup'," Jackson said, giving me 'the nod'.

I nodded back. "You know, only tools wear sunglasses indoors."

Sighing, Jackson took off the glasses revealing his dark brown eyes. "You know, you should really not judge the guy who's reserved a professional field hockey player to train us in less than an hour."

"You've got to be kidding me." I rubbed my eyes with my fingers in annoyance.

"Not exactly the reaction I was expecting . . ."

"I swear it wouldn't be my reaction any other day, but this whole week I have detention for trying to kick that little shit's face in last week." I hadn't seen Wyatt around much after our disagreement last Thursday. That little tumble didn't deserve to be called a fight.

"Well then you really don't have a chance when I take the team captain position this year, right?" A smirk made its way on his face and I rolled my eyes.

"I told you, I'm going to beat you at everything this year." This was a threat, and I was known to stick to my threats I gave out. That was why I had to make a big deal with Wyatt. If I let him walk free, everyone would think I'd give them a second chance.

Knowing my threat policy, Jackson shifted uncomfortably. All he could say was, "Good luck." Then he made his way down the hallway, and out the doors, now putting his glasses on at the right time.

Aaron followed him out the door, talking about he was free to join him in the fanboy kind of way. As usual, Jackson ignored that he even existed as he tried to escape from him. He was never a big fan of Aaron's need to have a friend to follow around the entire time.

I usually loved the high pedestal Aaron put me on, but the desperate need to be accepted by both Jackson and I was more annoying than flattering.

Looking around the halls, I searched for an excuse the show up late to my punishment. Nothing interesting awaited me there anyways. Just a lot of books that not many people took the time to read. There was something very interesting, though, standing by their locker in a good girl skirt with a blouse. Her blonde hair was straightened with the bangs pinned out of her face.

Genine Richards, who went by Genny, was a goody two shoes beyond health. She had her role as president of the student council to uphold, along with the virgin status. It wasn't the fact that she was prude, or anything, she was just too much of a snob to think anyone was good enough to take her virginity. Obviously, I was the perfect choice. My grades were in order, I was handsome, star player in field hockey, and those who experienced it, knew how good I was at getting what I wanted.

A challenge was always needed. The thrill of actually not knowing whether the girl would say yes or no was foreign, but I welcomed it.

Before Genny could turn around to leave, I was already behind her. "Oh my god." She held her hand over her heart as she chuckled at how frightened I made her. There was a scowl in her face right after, but when she saw it was me, her guard went down immediately. "Oh, hi Colton." She was now genuinely smiling, which was weird to see on her, since she always had the degrading frown plastered on her face. It was surprising that no ugly wrinkles have formed already, or her face would be a lot less appealing.

"I was wondering," I began, not forgetting my teethy smile. "Are you free tonight? Because I've been working up the nerve to come up to you for a while now, not knowing what to say, so I'm just going to ask. Would you like to go out to dinner?"

Her cheeks were completely red as she let her head bob up and down before answering. "I'd love to."

My smile grew at her answer. "Great! Text me your address and a time and I'll come pick you up." Just like that, I left. I didn't want to seem that interested, and it was easy, since I wasn't. These types were harder to get in bed, so you had to make them want you and make it so they'd do anything to keep you once they 'have' you.

Girls like her needed more than just a couple dates, they needed to believe that she is the only girl for you. Being me, I was an expert at hiding relationships from other girls. Even if the two girls I was sleeping with were best friends, they wouldn't know until I wanted them to. Cat fights were always sexy, especially if you were the 'prize' they're fighting for.

The school was basically empty now, just a couple wandering teachers, and students who spent too much time worrying about school. It was already three forty, and I was supposed to be in the library ten minutes ago. The library closed at four thirty so I only had to survive fifty minutes of torture now.

Walking into the library, and looking at who was checking out a book for some nerd, instantly added some brightness into my day that was going terrible just half an hour ago.

I neared toward the checkout desk, but decided to surprise her with my presence by randomly showing up behind her. Luckily, she was way too busy to notice me stroll around.

"Fancy meeting you here." Cliché greeting, I know. Seeing her tense up at my voice made me smile.

When she turned around to face me, an annoyed look was already plastered on her face. I was beginning to think it was the only expression she wore. The only time I ever really saw her smiling was when her and Cassidy were talking. They always said they were just friends, and I could see that they both meant it, but I always had to see other guys as a threat, even if they aren't competition.

"You lost?" Was her reply. "And to think I thought that you'd know where the detention room was by now."

I thought of the words that would probably want to make me punch myself, but I said them anyway to throw her off. "I'm only lost in your eyes." Yes, those words were probably as painful to hear as to say, but I couldn't resist.

"Seriously?" She tried to hide the smile from her face, but once managed to escape.

I closed the distance between us, making her caught between me and the counter. "Who wouldn't be lost in them, Flower?"

Okay, I'm not the type of guy who uses these cheap pick up lines. Don't forget who I am. Colton Millers isn't a tool.

"Did you just call me a flower?"

"Well a dahlia is a flower," I pointed out. "It makes sense though, flowers are gorgeous, you are gorgeous. It just fits, doesn't it?"

"You can flatter me all you want." She folded her arms over her chest as I just continued to smile. "You're not getting me to sleep with you."

"Jumping to conclusions, are we? Tsk. Tsk. I was just making conversation."

"Well you can stop trying, because I have some librarian type duties to take care of and you have a detention to go to." She walked off with the cart of books to re-shelf, hoping I wouldn't follow her, but I did. Who wouldn't, this was the most interesting tactic I've ever used. Annoying the hell out of a girl was not exactly a good tactic, but it was a fun one to try.

When she noticed I wasn't leaving, but following her, I asked, "What? I can't get any pointers from the person who knows most about this place? After all, this is where I will be after school every day for the whole week."

A frantic look came across her face and I couldn't help but laugh. "You did not apply for service credit in here, did you?" Her voice was distressed, but it was interesting how I just found it more funny than bad that she didn't want me here.

Service credit? Me? She has to be joking. "You think I would do this willingly? I'm not like you, I don't need to add more credits to my already four point o GPA."

This time Dahlia laughed, and I scowled. "You have a four point o?"

"Yes, Flower. Why does everyone always assume that I'm dumb?" Seriously, everyone assumed that my grades were bad. I didn't even give off the 'I don't care about school vibe' and everyone always questioned my knowledge.

"Stop calling me that."

Moving closer to her, I said, "What? Flower?" I was now only inches from her face and as she tried to back away, a bookshelf blocking her from escaping.

"Y-yes, Flower." Was that a stutter? I might have a chance in getting her to five in after all.

"You're not as tough when it just you and me, are you, Flower?" I ran my hand through her beautiful brown hair and stopped when my fingers traced her soft neck. Little goosebumps were sprouting where I touched her, but her skin was still smooth to the touch. Noticing her reaction, I grinned and leaned my mouth closer to her ear. "Do you really think you can still seduce me first?"

Dahlia's tough exterior was cracking as she looked nervously into my eyes. I usually preferred girls with green eyes, but no one could match up to Madison.

"You can't win," I whispered. "because I've got you right where I want you."

"And I have you right where I want you." What she just said confused me, since it was obvious that I had the upper hand in this situation.

Before I could laugh at her and ask what she possibly could do to me, she was gone. She was there just a second ago and now she was running out of the library, leaving me with all the unshelved books, and my limited knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System.

Yeah, this girl would definitely be my top priority now.

Dahlia's POV

"You look stressed," Cassidy said as I entered his room and flopped on side of the bed he wasn't occupying.

"Had a run in with a jerk."

"You're next on Colton's list, so you'll be seeing quite a lot of that asshole." Cassidy sighed. "When are the girls of our clueless school going to figure out that he isn't the nice guy they think he is?"

"Does he actually have a list or is it just figurative?" I asked.

"Well apparently he has a list of the girl, how many times, what positions they used, and their rating, like as in how good they are." Cassidy put his homework away and turned back to me. "I want you to try to stay away from this guy. I mean, I know you already are trying, but he has a way of persuading girls into thinking he's a great guy when he isn't."

I laughed looking back at how he was acting around me today, I didn't see a single sign of a nice guy in there. "He was nothing but a jerk to me, so I don't know what his goal is."

"Maybe he just hates you." Cassidy shrugged. "But who cares anyway, Lia. You and I both know he's bad news, so why keep talking about it?"

I sighed and came up into sitting position. "How do you know so much about him and this list anyway?"

"Can we just go to the basement and watch our crappy movie, already?"

"No." I smiled.

As annoying as I was with finding out information, I usually got what I needed. My eagerness for taking Colton down was outweighing movie watching, easily. He wasn't going to give up, so why should I? Until one of us won the seduction game of his, he wouldn't rest until he came out on top, and I was one of the girls crying over him.

I wasn't giving in, though. I would end up on top.

"Come on, Cass. You're my best friend, and with that title comes the responsibility of acting like one." My words were obviously not inspiring him. "Do you seriously want Colton to continuously use girls over and over again without a few consequences every once and a while?"

His expression now changed and he looked at me with a small grin on his face. "What if his list was to mysteriously disappear?"

"Meaning?"

"Meaning," he let the word hang for a moment. "You get invited to his house and when he's distracted, get the list. Then we edit it so that the names aren't exposed, but send the list to everyone at school"

"Ooo," I said, evilly wiggling my fingers. "You're going devious on me now?"

This plan could give me double points too. If I get close enough to him before getting invited over, I could actually get him to sleep with me, instead of him getting me to sleep with him. I used to sleep with people, I used to be really good at it too. I wasn't the stereotypical prewd that the player is always interested in, but I wasn't a whore either. I had too high of a respect of myself to give my body to sleep with whatever had legs. Those type of girls grossed me out.

"So what do you think?" he asked.

That I'm not telling you about my plan within a plan.

"This playa' gonna get played!" I said.

We did our 'we have a plan' handshake and then went over movie options.

A pic of Jackson to the side--->
