Stephen Strange's PoV-

I conjure and cast a strong binding spell at Dormamu. The entity is pushed back towards the portal I created to cast him back into the dark dimension. I have contained this threat into the relative safety of the mirror realm to prevent any civilian casualties. It's mildly difficult to constantly contain this threat and push him back at the same time. It's like fighting a war on two fronts and it is spiritually and mentally exhausting. Dormamu tries to fire at me but I reflect his spell and his own spell hurts him sending him closer to where I need him. One more strong spell should do. I conjure all my energy into one finally sealing spell. With an intricate hand motion I put the spell into effect. At the same time Dormamu casts a terrible looking spell at me. My spell strikes the evil threat and sends him spiraling into the dark dimension. Now I have a choice: seal the portal and stop this threat once and for all or block the spell he cast at me. I chose to seal the portal but before I get the portal shut I hear Dormamu call out, "Enjoy being powerless you sorcerer freak!"

The words reverberate in my head as his spell hits me. It knocks me backwards. I feel like all the wind was knocked out of me. Suddenly, I'm falling from the mirror dimension. My cloak catches me semi-gracefully. "Thank you, Cloak old pal!"

Levi places me gently on the ever busy sidewalk of New York. It's time to head back to the tower. I move my hand to cast a portal but no portal is conjured. I check to make sure I have my ring on. Yes. Then Dormamu's words hit me. He took my magic! I repeatedly try conjuring my portal and to my dismay I just look like a stupid freak in robes frantically waving my arms around.

I start my long walk to the Avenger's tower. As I walk I can't help but to notice a familiar pain in my hands. My magic helped me to mask some of the pain and shakes but now I feel the full force of my sever nerve damage. My cloak seems to understand this and gently wraps it's  silky fabric around my scared hands.

Finally, I make it to the Avenger's tower. I feel terribly exhausted and I want nothing more than for Tony to hold me and tell me everything will be okay. I make my way to our bedroom and I find Tony awake and messing with some type of gadget. "Steph, you're back!" Tony excitedly hugs me.

I hold him tight. I wonder, will he still love me after I tell him my magic is gone? Will he kick me out of the Avenger's tower? Will I be kicked out of the sanctum too? "Love, what's wrong?" Tony holds me in his arms.

"While I was fighting Dormamu he cast a spell on me that took my magic away, maybe I can have Wong find a cure but till then I'm useless." I allow my feelings to consume me and I cry into Tony's shoulder.

He walks me over to our bed and pulls me down onto his chest. I hear the quiet soothing hum of his arc reactor. "Steph, you will never be useless, get that idea out of your head right now," Tony kisses the top of my head, "Don't worry, I will help you get your magic back."

"Thank you, Tony, so you're not kicking me out of the tower?" I ask, fearful of the answer.

Tony gently holds my chin so that I am looking at him, "My love, I would never do that to you. What is mine is yours. This is your home."

I snuggle into him and mumble a thank you before falling asleep.

The next morning Tony drives me to the Sanctum. I open the door to find Wong dusting the artifacts. "Stephen what took you so long, you were supposed to check in with me last night."

"Sorry, Wong. Dormamu stole my magic from me and I need your help finding a spell to get it back," I explain.

Tony gently takes my hand. If I had my magic I would find that act comforting but the unmasked pain of my damaged nerves causes me to flinch. Tony takes the hint and releases my hand. He glanced at me sorrowfully and I flash a sad smile before following Wong into the library. Wong uses his magic to help sort through the books trying to find a spell to help me. Tony and I occupy ourselves with flipping through books though I know Wong's magic will find a cure before we possibly could. One by one books stop flying around the room as they place themselves back into their shelves. Wong looks at me and his face reveals his findings before his words. "I'm sorry, Stephen, there is no cure for that type of spell."

"What about the time stone? We could use it," I state.

"Stephen that is very risky," Wong warns.

"Please, Wong!"

"Only for you, Stephen," Wong gives in.

I hand him the time stone that still hangs from my neck. "Tony, stand clear," Wong warns.

Somewhat reluctant, Tony leaves my side and stands a little behind, Wong. The glowing green light consumes me. Wong slowly moves his hand reversing time on me. I feel no difference. "Okay, I reversed time to before your battle with, Dormamu. Try to do some magic," Wong states.

I try to cast a simple portal. Nothing. Then I try to make a shield. Still nothing. "It didn't work..."

"I'm sorry, Stephen, I don't know how else to help you," Wong replies.

Tony hurries over to me. "Shhh, it's okay, Steph," he rubs my back.

"No, Tony, it is not okay! I can't protect you or Peter. I can't even protect this fucking building and I can't even numb the pain in my worthless hands. So, everything is not okay!" I explode.

Tears follow my outburst and I run out of the sanctum. I collapse to my knees on the sidewalk and sob in pure agony. I feel warm arms wrap around my waist. I know those loving arms and the calming sent of his cologne. Tony. My love. I sink into his arms. "I'm so sorry, Tony..."

"It's okay, Steph, I'm here for you," Tony picks me up and carries me back inside.

"Why don't you lay him in his bed?" Wong suggest.

Tony carries me upstairs but my mind barely registers. All I can feel is pain. Pure emotional pain. I feel the warm covers wrap around me. I feel the dip of the mattress as Tony slides into bed next to me and I can feel his protective arms wrap around my waist. He kisses me gently and the pain causes me to drift asleep.

I wake. Tony is no longer next to me but Wong has just walked through the door. "You're awake, Stephen."

"Hey, Wong..."

"Maybe now is a bad time but Stephen you know that you can't live here any longer, right?" Wong seems truly sad.

"Yes, Wong, I was aware of that. I will get ready to leave now."

"I'm sorry, Stephen." Wong states before taking his leave.

Since I slept in my clothes and I have nothing to pack I exit to find Tony. He's at the table arguing with Wong. "There has to be some way to get his magic back, he is in so much pain," Tony argues.

"I have tried every way, I am sorry to say there is no hope of him getting his magic back," Wong explains.

"Come on, Tony, we need to go," I state.

Tony looks at me sadly. "Let's go home, I'll make you some tea."

The drive home is quiet. I just feel emotionally numb. I wish I could say the same about my hands.

Once back in the tower. I make my way to Tony and my room. The other Avengers greet me normally but look at me weird when I don't respond. Tony brings me some tea like he promised. He cuddles into me and rubs my back. The door suddenly opens and Peter barges through, "Doctor dad, what's wrong. You didn't respond to me earlier when I welcomed you home."

"Peter maybe now is not the time," Tony tries to get Peter to leave.

"It's okay," I state, "Kid, I lost my magic, a dark dimensional demon stole it from me in an unbreakable permanent spell. I am no longer the Sorcerer Supreme."

"Doctor dad, I'm so sorry," the kid rushes over to me and hugs me, "let me know if there is anything I can do to help you."

"Thank you, Peter, you are a great son," I ruffle his hair.

With that the kid leaves Tony and I alone.

Days pass slowly. The word has gotten out to the other Avengers. Most offer their apologies to me and ask if they can help. However, some think I shouldn't be allowed to stay at the tower anymore since I am no longer an Avenger. Those conversations usually end in me not responding and sinking deeper into myself. If Tony is around he usually threatens to kick them out by blasting them halfway across New York.

More time passes and I'm not sure how long I can take this anymore. Tony and the cloak are sleeping so I creep out of bed and make my way to the medicine cabinet. I take note of all the medications and realize that there is more than plenty here to end my life. Just a thought. I sneak back into bed. It's just a thought.

One particularly bad night my hands keep me awake. They shake with a vengeance and the pain is excruciating. It's like bolts of electricity shooting up my hands and even into my arms. Tony is in the lab and Cloak is acting as a blanket for me as I lay in bed. I get up and the Cloak goes to follow. "No, buddy, stay here," I inform it.

I make my way to the medicine cabinet. Simply the task of opening a medicine bottle is enough to make me cry out in agony but I almost welcome the pain. It will all be over soon. I open bottle after bottle after bottle. I know which medication is best to take for a lethal dose. I should expire within three hours. Tony will be busy in his lab for another four hours. All the others are asleep... I feel the medicine already working on me. Before I pass out I ask Friday to set a reminder to tell Tony that I love him and I'm sorry in four hours. That should be about the time he finds me.

Meanwhile Levi was starting to worry about Stephen. It tried to open the door to the bathroom only finding it locked. It listened and found that Strange's breathing was uncommonly shallow. The cloak flattened itself out and slid under the door. The cloak wrapped itself around Stephen. Stephen didn't wake. It tugged at his hair. Stephen didn't wake. The Cloak wrapped itself as tight as it could around Stephen's hands. To its surprise Strange did not wake. Tony! I need to get Tony! The cloak floated down to Tony's lab. It tugged at Tony's arm who simply laughed and told it to wait a moment so he could test his new gadget. Cloak wrapped its body around Tony's head and pulled him towards the door before letting the engineer go. "What the hell, Levi!"

The cloak pointed at the door. "Is Steph in trouble?"

Levi nodded. Tony followed Levi as fast as they could to the bathroom where the person they cared most about currently lay dying.

Tony blasted the door open and found Strange on the floor near dead. Empty bottles of medication lay around the former doctor. Together Levi and Tony carried him to the car where Tony drove as fast as he could till he got to the sanctum.

Tony and the cloak burst through the door. "Wong, we need the time stone!!!"

Moments later a disoriented Wong came running down the stairs. "What's wrong... Stephen!" Wong noticed his near dead friend, "What happened!"

"He tried to... end it..." Tony explained and gingerly set Stephen down on the floor of the sanctum, "Now use the time stone to reverse it!"

Without hesitation Wong took out the stone and began working the magic. Soon Stephen was breathing normally. However, the cloak wasn't satisfied. It took the stone from Wong's hand and used all its might to crush the precious time stone over the sleeping Stephen. A bright burst of glowing green light erupted from the stone and overwhelmed the sanctum. When the bright glow faded particles of green dust covered Strange. Cloak nudged him awake. Stephen's eyes glowed bright green and a glowing green light emanated from around him. "Steph?" Tony questioned.

Stephen shook his head seemingly disoriented. "I'm alive?!" His eyes slowly faded to their normal color and the green light faded to nothing.

Tony rushed over to him. "Are you okay, my love!"

     "I'm fine, what happened..."

Tony gave Stephen the whole story. "Steph, try using your magic again."

Stephen waved a hand to cast a portal and was amazed to find that a portal opened. He made shields and cast a circle of protection. "My magic is back!" He hugged Tony and then he hugged Wong. "Thank you, guys!"

"Don't thank us, thank, Levi," Tony.

"Thank you, Cloaky! Your the best cloak I could ever ask for!"

In response Levi simply wrapped itself around the sorcerer.

"Okay, but what are we going to do about the missing time stone?" Stephen asked.

"The stone is not missing, you now hold its power," Wong replied, "Just don't let Dormamu ever steal your magic again."

"Trust me, I won't," Stephen replied.

That night Tony and Stephen spent cuddled together in the sanctum. Levi spent that night acting as a blanket for the engineer and the reinstated Sorcerer Supreme.
