Younger Than He Fights
(Edited)
This is an idea I have for an upcoming story about the avengers not knowing who Spider-Man is and Peter is just an intern, so yeah, hope you like it! (Lol I never did that but it was nice honking about it I suppose.)
Btw, thank you for two votes so far, it's great thanks! (T w o . Wow guys, a total of t w o votes, isn't that crazy?)
Edits: me slowly trying to make my writing less formal because even though I'm around his age, Peter does not talk like he's a dictionary. Also more descriptive wording and just spell checks and the works.

Peter Parker POV
All was quiet in the city.
Well, as quiet as it would get here. The sound of cars in the distance, drunk people roaming around, and cats rummaging through dumpsters was still fairly present, but the noise had slowly died down, leaving me with small sounds and a pretty quiet place. Perfect after a long day of fighting crime.
I sat on a rooftop, drifting in and out of consciousness by the second. I had stopped all the normal crimes around and I wasn't particularly worried about anything at the moment. The night was quiet, the air was fairly still, what could go wrong?
Famous last words.
My eyes popped open when I heard thrusters approaching me. It was getting louder, a tell tale sign that a familiar person was flying near, and that he and his team still hadn't given up trying to track me down.
'That's not something you normally hear out here,' I thought sighing and getting up. I knew the drill by heart at this point. The Avengers have been after me for 3 months now, trying to figure out who I am, thinking if I'm unregulated, I'll be a threat. And now they ruin my one moment of tranquility all day, which I don't appreciate thank you very much. All this hard work for hero's chasing me down to send me to a test monkey in a lab. Probably.
I was too tired for this.
I stood up, giving my acknowledgement to the situation I was about to face. Tony Stark, the IronMan, stood behind me, already in a fighting position, and said, "Look kid, we just wanna talk. It'll be way easier if you come with us."
I groaned quietly. He already knew my answer, so why was he asking?! I quipped back, "You just ruined a perfectly good moment of quiet, dude. No crime out, no yelling, just quiet. And I think you already know I'm not coming with you and be a lab rat." I stood in a battle stance. "Let's get this over with." I said.
He came at me, his thrusters at the ready. I dodged attack after attack, beam after beam, but my Spidey senses still screamed like hell. Something was different about this fight, and I had the feeling I'd find out sooner rather than later.
Not looking to where I was going, I webbed what I thought was another building, and ended up smacking into the Hulk (holy shit I hit the Hulk, Ned's gonna freak—), and ended up being pinned down by a large green hand.
"Nice work, Bruce. Let the others know we caught a Spider." Tony said, smugness dripping from his voice. I struggled to lift him off, managing to get his fingers off the ground he was pinning me to, but I didn't get far. A hand grabbed my wrist, Tony pulling out something that glinted in the moonlight.
Wait, what's that in his hand?! I had no time to struggle before the syringe pierced my wrist.
I felt the effects begin to kick in instantaneously. I grit my teeth, blinking away the darkness beginning to overtake my vision.
"You.... suck....." I managed to spat out before the drug overtook me.
Tony Stark POV
The spider guy was in the medbay.
My plan worked pretty much perfectly, as per usual. It was actually pretty interesting, his DNA had been genetically altered somehow, causing him to become the part Spider he is today. I was waiting for him to wake up, so I could question him and offer him a spot on the team, at least in case of emergencies. If he refused, I'd ask him to at least collaborate with SHIELD, so that he wouldn't be completely unhinged. You never know with Vigilantes, it can be difficult to know how many there are, and what they're doing.
I haven't taken his mask off yet, and we hadn't traced his DNA to a person yet. I want to see if he'd reveal his identity himself, just to test his trust. He was probably about twenty or so, but he could be an asset to the team. Either way, it'd be good to know more people who could help out during times of crisis. Big problems require big teams.
I stared at him, waiting for the drug to get out of his system. I would've thought it creepy, but I couldn't really help it. The same question repeated in my brain:
Who the hell in this guy?
Peter Parker POV
I woke up with a massive headache. Bright lights and a ceiling were revealed when I opened my eyes. 'A hospital? No, wait... oh shit I've been caught I've been caught Aunt Mays gonna kill me what are they gonna do, torture me, kill me this is the opposite of good—,' was the panicky mantra that ran through my brain, making me wonder if I should just go back to sleep and deal with it later. I sat up groggily regardless, ready to assess the situation at least a bit.
"Good sleep?" Someone asked.
Well shit.
Tony Stark, my boss (at least the boss of my bosses bosses boss,) was sitting in front of me. There is no good way to tell your boss/idol/hero since who knows how long, that you, who's barely old enough to drive, that you're a night creeping vigilante superhero. But aside from that and the fact that I am actually freaking out because Tony Fu-Frickin' Stark is sitting in front of me, I might not have to tell him, meaning that I could get out of this and—
"Spider-Man, right? Well it's good to see another person in the field who wants to help out." Mr. Stark said, snapping me out of my dumb stupor.
"Well you uh, you have me. What do you w-want?" I said, attempting to gain back my composure and sound cool and intimidating all at once.
Mr. Stark only raised an eyebrow before continuing, "To know who you are, and if you're a threat. But mainly to know who you are." He looked at me. "To be honest, Spiderguy, we've been observing you for a while. We're pretty impressed, you know your stuff. We want to know who you are, why you're doing all this, where you got your powers, and most importantly, who's side you're on. Once we know that, you can go home, most probably."
I watched him carefully. "I feel like you already know all that stuff."
He smiled and said, "I have my suspicions. But I'm gonna need you to take that mask off."
I hesitated, then sighed. "Well, it was gonna happen eventually." I slid my mask off slowly, letting my curly brown hair fluff out.
His eyes widened. "Jesus Christ you're a kid."
"Hey! That doesn't make me any less capable, you know!" I protested, watching him run his hand down his face. "I recognize you. You applied for a job here six months ago. How the hell did I miss the fact that you have powers..?"
"I mean I hide them really well, no one knows! Well, except my friend Ned... and maybe MJ... and May suspects something—" I started, going down my mental list before Mr. Stark cut me off.
"Peter Parker, you applied here six months ago, you're a minor, and you neglected to tell anyone that you're, oh I don't know, a superhero?!" Mr. Stark snapped, looking a bit angry now.
"Hey, I didn't ask for these powers for your information! I applied before I got them, and I'm using my power for good!" I shot back, standing up and facing him.
"You're a kid, and you've been doing this all on your own?! You literally have a superhero boss, why didn't you come to me?!"
"Would you have believed me?"
"You could've proved it!"
"And then what?! You wouldn't even let me in your office, I'm just an intern! I would've never been able to talk to you! And it's called a secret identity!"
Mr. Stark sighed, sitting back down and suddenly looking very tired. I sat down too, looking down and gripping the sides of one of the medbay beds. Absentmindedly, I thought about how I was missing school, but that felt very small suddenly. I hoped May wouldn't be freaking out too much.
"Okay." Mr. Stark said.
"Okay?" I questioned, wondering where that came from.
"Look kid, I don't like the idea of you going out there and fighting crime, however, I know you won't stop doing it. What I am going to do though, is I'm gonna get your contact information." He said, getting up.
"If you're gonna be a superhero, you're gonna need some help kid."
