3rd Person POV
The warehouse collapsed on Peter, and suddenly, metal and concrete pierced his skin. His suit was useless against it, and after a few painstaking minutes, Peter looked up shakily.
It was as if the strength he had as Spider-Man was gone, leaving him with no power to lift the building off of him. He struggled and struggled, vaguely aware that he was bleeding out and screaming.
The scene changed to Titan, where he was crumbling to dust. He pleaded Mr. Stark to help him, save him, but Stark could only watch helplessly as he crumbled, and darkness consumed him.
The scene then changed to his biggest regret. Uncle Ben lied on the ground, his eyes losing the light he had once, Bens hand weakly gripping his own.
His voice, however, was cold, hard and unkind when he whispered, "Your fault."
Your fault
Your fault
Your Fault!
Peter gasped as he woke up in a cold sweat. The memory of Bens words fading in his head to whispers. He panted, running his hand through his hair.
"A dream...?" He whispered to himself. He was sure it had to be, Ben would never say those words to him. But the guilt and pain in his soul made his inner demons doubt him. His face was stained with sweat and tears.
There was only one thing that could make him feel better at the moment, he knew that.
"FRI..? Can you direct me to the music room please..?" He said quietly as to not wake anyone.
"Of course, Peter." Friday said as she gave him directions. He walked the long, winding hallways of the compound, following Friday's directions.
Peter arrived to the music room, going immediately for the guitar. He was very good at it, and remembered the first song Ben taught him on it. He always said that it was the song of him and May, and it reminded him about how they met. He strummed the guitar, testing it. Then he started the song he knew so well.
Do I look lonely?
I see the shadows on my face
People have told me I don't look the same
He sang, strumming the guitar softly but with tone. He was reminded of how all the people at school were "worried" about him. Telling him that he looks down. Even Flash has commented on it, saying, "Why do you look so down, Penis? It's my job to make you feel that way!" He never responded, knowing everyone just wants fresh gossip.
Maybe I lost weight
I'm playing hooky with the best of the best
Put my heart on my chest so that you can see it, too
He had heard people spread rumors, saying I broke up with someone, or that my Aunt was dead. Both were not true, of course.
If only they knew.
I'm walking the long road, watching the sky fall
The lace in your dress tingles my neck, how do I live?
The death of a bachelor
Oh oh
Letting the water fall
The death of a bachelor
Oh oh
Seems so fitting for
Happily ever after (woo)
How could I ask for more?
A lifetime of laughter
At the expense of the death of a bachelor
He sang the chorus pridefully, unaware of Tony, who was just passing by to get sleep before Pepper scolded him about another all nighter in the lab, and was there when Peter first strummed the guitar. He quietly asked Friday to record this while he watched. He was surprised at Peters voice, it was amazing. 'Why is he up though..?' Stark wondered as he watched, humming the song a bit.
I'm cutting my mind off
Feels like my heart is going to burst
Alone at a table for two and I just wanna be served
Slowly the other avengers gathered, watching Peter sing. All of them woke up after Stark asked Friday to get them. All of them were astonished at Peters voice, except Natasha because she knows everything. She softly joined in on the singing, and so did Tony. They both knew the song well.
And when you think of me am I the best you've ever had?
Share one more drink with me, smile even though you're sad
Peter was still unaware of the crowd he gathered, to absorbed in the lyrics and his thoughts to care much about his surroundings. He swayed a bit to the music, his eyes closed as he felt the rhythm.

He danced a bit during the instrumental, still strumming his guitar. He was absorbed in the music, it calmed him, and slowly he forgot the nightmare that had brought him here in the first place. He simply felt the melancholy but jazzy song, and his demons faded in his mind at the final chorus:
The death of a bachelor
Oh oh
Letting the water fall
The death of a bachelor
Oh oh
Seems so fitting for
Happily ever after (woo)
How could I ask for more?

He ended the song with pizzazz, taking a deep breath and opening his eyes. When he heard clapping however, he froze and slowly turned to see his family standing there. Tony looked the proudest of all, and was clapping fiercely.
After the clapping died down, Peter stuttered, "H-how long have y-you guys been there..?"
"Tony's been here the whole time. He called us down. You've got a good voice, kid." Steve said, smiling at him. He returned the smile weakly. He rubbed the back of his neck and said, "W-well, I'm not that great..."
"Are you kidding? Kid, that was amazing!" Sam said, and the others nodded in agreement.
Tony walked over and pulled Peter into a hug, smiling. He then pulled back and ruffled his hair, saying, "You did amazing kid. I'm proud of you."
As the others trickled back to thier respective rooms, Tony asked, "So... why were you up so late anyway?"
Peters face fell. "Oh.. I had a nightmare. I used to play guitar to make me feel better, but for a while I couldn't cause we had to sell it. But I found that room and just.. needed to calm down and take my mind off of it." He said quietly.
Tony pulled him into a hug, running his hands through his hair. Peter sighed, letting his head fall on his mentors chest. "Hey, if you want, you can come here more often. I'd love to hear you play and sing more." Tony said softly. Peter smiled and said, "I'd like that. Thank you."
They made thier way upstairs with Tony's arm slung on Peters shoulder, both feeling better.
