Peter stares at the phone in his hand, reading and re-reading the text in front of him.

I'm sorry Peter, but this isn't working. It's not you, it's me. I'm breaking up with you, and I'm hoping you can forgive me. My heart just isn't in it anymore. And I don't want to hurt you more than I already have. I'm sorry...

That was a text from him girlfriend...or ex-girlfriend, Gwen Stacy. They had been together for over a year, and she had decided to end it. Just like that, it was over. She was Peter's first love. He was planning on telling her that on their anniversary in a few weeks. But now it won't happen.

Peter drops his phone to the floor, and tears begin to gather in his eyes. He had loved, and he had lost. It had to have been something he'd done wrong. For her to just end it so suddenly, and over a text? He just didn't understand how someone could do that.

He's so lost in thought that he doesn't hear the knock on his door, and he doesn't notice when someone else enters the room. Peter feels the bed move as the person sits down next to him. When he feels a hand on his shoulder he looks to see his (basically) big sister Wanda next to him, a sympathetic look in her eyes.

"What's happened Little Brother?" Peter just looks to the phone that's sitting on the floor. She seems to understand and picks up the device, reading the text. She's silent for a moment as she reads, then she pulls him into a hug.

"I'm so sorry, Peter."

"W-What did I do wrong, Wanda?" He asks, now allowing the tears to fall freely. "What did I do wrong?"

"You didn't do anything wrong Little Brother. It wasn't you. Sometimes, people just change."

"I-I was g-gonna tell her I love her." Wanda doesn't exactly know how to respond so she just hugs him tighter, pulling him close.

"You shouldn't have to go through this Peter. Any girl would be lucky to have you."

"It hurts."

"I know, but a broken heart won't last forever. You'll move on. It may not feel like it now, but it will get better." Peter just lets the tears fall, not caring who sees him. His heart is broken. Someone else has left him.

"H-How do you know?"

"Because I'm your big sister. Big sisters know these things." Peter just nods, trying his best to believe what she's telling him. "Come on, I made some cookies and there's ice-cream in the freezer. We can go watch a movie or something."

She stands and helps Peter to his feet. Arm in arm, they walk to the kitchen. Wanda grabs the plate full of peanut butter cookies and Peter grabs a tub of Mint-chocolate chip ice-cream with two spoons. They move to the living room to decide on a movie.

"Okay, Madea or The Greatest Showman?" Wanda asks, holding up the two movies.

"Let's watch Madea first. I need something funny." Wanda nods and fixes the movie before sitting down next to Peter. By the time the movie is over and the end credits are rolling, Peter's feeling better. The pain is still there, but at least he isn't alone.

"Thanks for this Wanda. I owe you one." Peter says with a small smile.

"Hey, that's what sisters are for."
