Camping Trip
Oh my Stars. I'm sorry for the late update. My phone is being terrible and I'm drowning in English homework. But hey, here's something. I hope you like it and I'll publish another one soon
And if you made a request, I promise I'm working on them. Just please be patient.
Okay I'll let you read now.

The last thing anyone expected was for the Avengers to be hiking through the forest at 9:00 in the morning on a Saturday, yet here they were. After what the media had dubbed 'The Civil War' things were tense to say the least. The accords have been amended since then and the rogue Avengers were pardoned. They were finally a team again, but they were still somewhat divided.
You may be wondering what this has to do with anything. Well a certain teenager had decided that a camping trip could be a way to fix things. It could be a chance to bring the team together, so now here they are.
They hike up the trail, Peter and Tony in the front of the group. Everyone had agreed to go on the trip other than Pepper and May, who when asked replied that they had work to do.
"I can't believe I let you talk me into this." Tony mumbles.
"Oh come on Mr. Stark it won't be that bad."
"What do you even know about camping? You live in New York." Tony asks, adjusting the pack on his shoulders.
"My Uncle Ben used to take me and May on camping trips. We went almost every summer." Tony looks over at the teen, who now has a distant look in his eyes.
"I'm sorry kid. I shouldn't have-"
"No Mr. Stark it's fine. It's just that it brings back a lot of memories."
"Well maybe you could tell me about him. Your Uncle."
"I'd like that."
They keep hiking, keeping light conversation as they go. Once they finally reach their destination, everyone is ready to fall over from exhaustion. Well everyone other than Peter. Even Captain America seems tired. It's ironic, because Peter is the one carrying most of the equipment.
"How?" Bucky asks the teen.
"Super Stength, enhanced endurance, all that stuff." Peter drops the gear to the ground before looking at what will be their camp site. It's a large clearing by a river bank, trees surrounding the area. It's perfect.
"Okay guys, time to set up camp!" Peter says enthusiastically.
"Give us a minute kid. Just a minute to rest." Tony replies. Peter's shoulders drop in disappointment. He had been hoping to get set up as soon as they could. The teen just sits down in the grass next to the heroes, waiting impatiently for the rest if his family so they could get started.

It's half an hour later when everyone is up and ready to go. They first decide who will be bunking together. Its eventually said that they'll divide into groups of two or three people per tent, and they begin setting up. Tony and Peter were the first to finish putting up their tent.
"So what's next?" Tony asks the teen.
"Whatever we want."
"Well what do you want to do?" Peter turns to look at the river flowing behind them.
"Imma go to the river. Wanna come?" Tony just shrugs and follows his kid to the river bank. As they arrive, Peter takes off his socks and shoes so he can put his feet in the water. Tony does the same a minute later, and the two are sitting side by side.
"So tell me Underoos, why did you want to go camping so badly?"
I don't know. The whole camping thing was something May, Ben, and I used to do. I guess I kinda wanted to bring it back. Restart a family tradition, but with my new super-family. I know, it sounds really cheesy."
"So tell me about your Uncle."
"You were being serious?"
"I wouldn't lie to you." Peter just gives him a smile before starting his stories. He talks of the camping trips and the cookout and every other memory he can think of.
"-and guess what." Peter says.
"Hmm?"
"Ben taught me to swim in this very river. I was seven."
"He sounds like he was a great man. I really am sorry kid."
"Why? You didn't kill him. It wasn't your fault." The man can hear the all too familiar sadness in the kid's voice. He knows, because he's felt it himself.
"It wasn't your fault either kid."
"Maybe. But I could've saved him Mr. Stark. The guy was right there. I had him..."
"Underoos, it wasn't your fault. And wherever he may be, your Uncle knows that."
"Thanks Mr. Stark."
"No problem. Now let's see if the others are ready to do something fun." Peter nods and stands back to his feet, Tony doing the same. They grab their shoes and walk over to the others who have just finished setting up their tents.
"Okay Peter, what first?"

15 minutes later:
"WHY DOES MY KID HAVE AN AXE?!?!"
Tony had been gone for only a minute to get something to drink, but comes back to see Peter and Steve standing side by side, axes in hand.
Peter nervously eyes the axe in his hands, debating on wether he should drop it or explain. He doesn't have to worry for long, because Steve steps up to the plate.
"Well we need for the camp fire tonight, so Clint had an idea of sorts. Peter and I are going to have a little contest."
"What kind of contest?" Tony asks nervously.
"Well you see Mr. Stark, we were gonna see who could cut through this big log the fastest. I said I was gonna win but Uncle Clint says Steve will win. So then Uncle Clint and I made a bet over who would win. Now I have to win so I can prove him wrong or else I owe Clint a video of Spider-Man saying Hawkeye is the greatest superhero of all time even though that isn't really true."
Peter says all of this in one breath, speaking so fast he was barely understood. Everyone just looks to Tony, waiting for his answer. Everyone except for Clint, who mumbles something along the lines of 'But I am the best'.
"Peter, are you sure this is a good idea? I mean what if you get hurt?"
"I'll be fine Mr. Stark." Tony looks away, knowing that if he made eye contact with the kid he would give in. The kid was cute enough to get whatever he wanted. Even if that was competing against Captain America in a wood-chopping contest with a dangerous blade.
Tony hesitantly looks to the kid. It was a terrible idea, because now Tony can't help but say yes.
"I guess I can't stop you. But if you get hurt-"
"I won't. I promise." with that said, the contest begins. Natasha was acting as the referee, making sure it was fair. Of course Peter wins, leaving Steve standing there exhausted and only halfway finished. Peter had beat him by a land slide.
"Great job kid. I've been waiting for someone to beat him at something." Tony says with a proud smile. "Now put the axe down. You're making me nervous."
Peter laughs and hands the axe over to Steve. Everyone looks at the father/son duo who are talking to one another. Tony is giving a lecture to the teen about how an axe is dangerous and he should never mess with anything that could seriously hurt him, even though he’s Spider-Man.
It’s ironic how everyone else can see how much of a dad Tony is. Every one other than Tony that is.
After Lunch, the group decided to go by the river and sit by the waters edge. Soon enough they're all by the water, each doing different things. Bruce is reading a book, Natasha is standing along the bank with Peter teaching him to skip rocks, Thor and Clint are arguing over something, Steve is drawing in his sketch book, and Tony is sitting right on the water’s edge enjoying the moment of peace.
Well he was. It was just then that Peter came up with probably one of the stupidest yet greatest ideas in history. He whispered his plan to Natasha, who just laughed and gave him an enthusiastic nod. She pulled out her phone to record it all as Peter silently walked over to the billionaire.
When he came close enough, he acted. With a loud battle cry he tackled Tony, sending them both into the water. Tony came up sputtering and looking around for a certain teen. He spots him swimming back to the bank a few feet away.
“PETER BENJAMIN PARKER!!!!!”
Tony follows him to land, but by the time he gets there Peter’s halfway up a tree. Seconds later, Peter’s at the top. Tony stands at the base of the tree, soaking wet and furious.
“Get down from there!” Tony yells up at the teen.
“No way!” The teen replies. He’s sitting on a branch near the top, swinging his legs back and forth.
“I’ll get Natasha!”
“Leave me out of this Stark.” Natasha cuts in, throwing another rock in the water. Peter gives Tony a grin, knowing Tony won’t be able to climb up to reach him.
“Fine. If you don’t come down I’m gonna call the police.” Tony says. He’s calmed down and isn’t really angry at this point. He just wants the kid out of the darn tree.
“Go ahead. I’ll fight them.” replies Peter. Tony sighs and gives a frustrated groan. He has to think. What could he do to convince the kid…
“I have cookies.” Peter’s eyes light up as he scrambles down the branches before landing in front of the hero.
Tony slings his arm over the kids shoulder as they walk back to the camp site. When they get back, Tony digs a pack of Chocolate Chip cookies from his bag and gives them to the boy.
“I totally would’ve fought them.” Peter says as he nibbles on a cookie.
“I know you would. Come on, let’s see what everyone wants for dinner.” They call the rest of the team over to discuss dinner plans. The sun is already beginning to set, the day having moved faster than they expected.
Steve builds a fire as Natasha sets out the food they had brought with them. May and Pepper had prepared something, so all they had to do was heat it up over the fire.
After a dinner of chilli and Ritz crackers, they were all having s’mores by the fire. Natasha had made a few, and Clint kept trying to take them when she wasn’t looking. He kept failing, yet he kept trying.
After his fifth attempt, Natasha looks him in the eye and says:
“I swear Clint, you try to take my food one more time and I’ll shoot you in the knee.”
“I was just-”
“No.” Clint’s shoulders drop in disappointment.
“Auntie Tasha?”
“Yes my Little Spider?”
“Can I have one?” Peter asks, already knowing the answer.
“Of course.” She hands him a few before continuing her conversation she’d been having with Steve.
Peter looks at Clint with a smug grin before eating the sweet snack. Clint picks up a small pebble off the ground and throws it in the teens direction, knowing he won’t be able to hit him. The kid moves too fast.
However, when Peter turns to talk to Tony Clint manages to steal the s’mores Natasha had given the teen. When Peter reaches for one and realizes they’re missing, a depressed expression takes over.
Tony notices, and his mind goes into over-drive.
What’s wrong? Is the kid upset? Why is he sad? What’s going on?
“My s’mores are gone…” Peter says sadly. Everyone automatically looks to Clint who is sitting there with his hands behind his back, trying not to look guilty.
“Why is everyone looking at me?” Clint asks defensively.
“Because everyone knows it was you.” Natasha replies.
In the end, they made Clint apologize to Peter and the archer had his snack privilages revoked. They all spent the rest of the night telling stories of their childhood and having more fun than they’d had in a long time.
----------
When they arrived back at the tower the next day, May and Pepper were sitting in the kitchen sipping coffee. Pepper was the first to notice the crew.
“Hey! Did you guys have fun?” Pepper asks as she stands to her feet. She moves over to hug Peter and then her soon-to-be husband.
May stands next and pulls Peter into a hug before whispering in his ear.
“It went okay?” She asks.
“Yeah. It was great.” He replies.
She had been worried that bringing back so many memories of Ben would’ve thrown him into a panic attack. It was rare, but it had happened before. The two Parkers turn to face everyone else, who are welcomed back with hugs and smiles.
“So tell me everything. I want to hear all about it.” May says.
Everyone automatically turns to Peter, who begins to do what he does best. He talks. He practically manages to cram two days worth of fun into 10 minutes.
“Well it sounds like you all had a lot of fun.” Pepper says.
“We really did. Hey I was wondering if we could go again sometime.” Peter says, his eyes shining with hope.
“Well I don’t see why not.” Tony replies. Peter pulls the billionaire into an excited and thankful hug.
“Thanks Dad.” Everyone freezes. “I-I mean… What I meant to say was…” Peter stutters.
“You called me Dad.” Tony says. “I like it.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. It’s way better than ‘Mr. Stark’. And I’ve always wanted a kid.”
Peter’s smile could light up a room, and it’s contagious. This was easily the greatest weekend of all time…
