Another abandoned building mishap

TW- stuck in tight space & panic attack

Peter runs ontop of a shop's ceiling, feet smacking against the tiles. The baddie of the month is a bunch of alien-things, sent by who knows what. Once it gets closer it's claw swipes at his feet. The buzz of his spidey sense gets to him first though, and he jumps out of the way, sliding down a railing.

Pushing off it, he shoots a web in the air and whoops as it plummets to the ground and he's shot into the air. He swings happily at the fact that he's had the privilege to fight along side the avengers. It only happens sometimes since Tony gets so protective. He gets why, of course, but it gets frustrating.

It's still nice to have someone care though.

He looks around for somewhere to land as he watches a few other creatures group together to ambush him. Ahead, he spots a smaller, abandoned building on the corner of an alley. The top of it is mostly boarded up but high enough to where the aliens shouldn't be able to jump up. (He hopes. They can jump pretty high.)

He lets go of the web and braces himself for landing.

He doesn't land though.

Instead, he goes right through the ceiling. It rips like paper.

He yelps in surprise when he falls through it, falling into a support beam and hitting the ground with a loud thump. Dust blows in all directions at the impact.

He groans in pain, feeling his ribs protest as he rolls onto his back.

"Ow."

"Peter! What was that?"

"Kid, you ok?"

"Peter!"

The voices of his teammates pierce his ears.
"Ow! Stop talking!"

He groans again, about to reach for his mask to stop their talking when a metal rod falls and pierces the concrete ground just inches from his head.

His muscles stiffen in surprise, and his eyes dart to the piece of debris.

That was close.

Thanks a lot spidey sense.

Crack!

Uh oh.

Another crack sounds, followed by what sounds like the rest of the building coming down.

Blocks of concrete are already hurdling towards his head. Without time to get out of the way, he gasps and curls in on himself, wrapping his arms around his head.

When he opens his eyes again, he's surrounded by the debris of this building. He's lucky he's not more injured or- dead. Though, there's a few heavy pieces that sit atop his leg.

He tries to move it and is met with excruciating sparks going up from his leg to his hip. He gasps.

The com in his ear crackles with shouts.

"Uh, guys?"

He's met with the same result.

He's squeezed in tight, but he's able to maneuver himself to where he can try and push them off. Though, before he can focus his com connects again.

"There! it's connected again- Kid! What's happening?"

A sound of frustration escapes his lips.
"I think I broke my leg," he blurts. "I- I- shit."

Somehow, he feels like the rocks squeeze tighter and his breathing picks up.

It's happening again- it's-

His thoughts are cut off by a scream.

There's someone else in here.

In a haze of panic and adrenaline, Peter finds the strength to push the rest of the concrete and wood away, revealing a person across the destroyed room.

He keeps his lips tight to stop a scream as he rolls the rock off his leg. Yeah, that's most likely broken.

"I'm," he gasps, "I'm coming! It's ok!"

"Spider-man," a shaky voice asks.

"Yeah. Yeah it's me."

He limps over to the man.

He doesn't know how they're alive. Half of the building is stacked on their shoulders.

"How are you-"

"There's a big pipe behind me. I'm trying to keep some of the weight off but I- I can't... I need help I can hear it bending."

Peter jumps into action, immediately lifting the weight off the man. He falls forward in exhaustion. Before he can thank him, Peter shouts,
"Go! People are still running for the evacuation route- you'll be able to find it."

He runs off, leaving the hero with his own thoughts and fears.

He thinks he's handling it well until the pipe snaps in half and he's suddenly holding up the whole building. Again.

Whatever pieces of ceiling that had previously been holding on by a thread come toppling down, sending dust in the air and he can already feel it gather in his lungs.

No no no.

Shit.

"Peter!"

The com in his ear rings as Tony shouts into it. He shouts.

"Agh! What?!"

"Kid, Friday's having a hard time picking up where you're at- your suit's all messed up! Where are you?"

"Building. Came down," he grits. The weight shifts and makes the pain in his leg flare up. He hears the boosters of the Ironman suit pick up when he yells again.

His mentor rambles in his panic and worry and Peter's just trying to focus on the task at hand. But he can't with his-

"Give me a second!" He snaps. "Wait."

The line goes silent. Then, Nat speaks.
"Peter, what's happening?"

Jesus Christ he just told them-!

All he can manage is, "Its happening again."

"Tony's on his way. Just stay there."

"It's not like I can do anything else!" His anger dissipates with a gasp of fear when the rubble above him trembles. He pushes it back up, wishing he had never fallen down here.

No Peter, his mind says, you saved someone. You did something.

Somehow, the door at the front is still intact because Tony comes flying through.

"I'm here! I'm- shit."

"Hey," he mutters.

Despite the feeling of doom in his gut, he's happy he's not alone this time. Tony came. He's here to help.

Then, the feeling returns when the suit opens up and his mentor steps out.

"Tony, what are you doing?! Don't-"

But then, the empty suit continues to step forward and help him lift the rubble.
"C'mon, let go- The suit holding it up will give us time to get the hell out of here!"

"No. No I don't think I can let go."

"You have to. C'mon, it'll be ok. But we really have to run out of here."

"You don't have your suit on! What if you get hurt," Peter whimpers. Beads of sweat run down his temple, gathering at his chin.

"I will be hurt if we stick around! Let's go!"

Peter hesitated, staring at Tony's reaching hand before dropping the debris on his back and the whole thing comes crumbling down. Though, the suit remains, holding up enough for the building to stay up just a little longer.

Tony's hand grabs his gloved one.
"C'mon!"

They run out of the building just in time for the rest to collapse, a wave of dust flying into the air as it falls.

They pant, kneeling over with their hands on their knees.

He got out. And he didn't have to do it alone.

"Pete."

"Give me a sec," he mutters, waiting for the dizziness to end and his breath to properly return. Everything that has happened is beginning to settle- the aching in his bones, in his chest, and the gritty taste of dirt and drywall on his tongue.

He tries to step forward but his leg gives out instantly. He gasps in pain and luckily, Tony's got the instincts to catch him immediately.

He grabs at his elbows to hold him up.

Peter's expression twitches as he tries to keep a straight face. Tony sees right through it and pulls him into a tight hug. He'd expected it to hurt but instead, it just feels like he's holding his pieces together. It's nice.

He returns the gesture and a tight huff of emotion escapes his lips. He holds his shirt in his fists and finally takes a deep breath.

He was there. He was there.

He wants to thank him but his sentence is cut short by a coughing fit that had finally set in from all the inhaled dust.

His shoulders heave as he coughs and once again looses his breath. It sends painful shocks through his chest.

He's getting pretty tired of this.

"You're ok," he says, moving to help him. "Here- sit down."

Peter remains hunched over on the dirty ground being pat on the back. When it ends, he rests his head in his hands. His throat hurts. His leg hurts. The rest of his stupid body hurts.

Everything that just happened finally clicks in his brain. Though, he can only think about one thing. He looks over at Tony, wheezing as he takes a deep breath.

"I'm so sorry- your suit."

"What? Why are you apologising? Kid, I can make another suit. I can make thousands more."

"But it wouldn't be gone if I hadn't..."

"Ah-ah. Zip it. You're not allowed to apologise."

Peter hesitates scrubbing his hand over his face, "Ok."

The other avengers finally make it to their location, the streets littered with dead alien-thingies. In the back of his mind, he wonders how they'd gotten rid of them all. He's a little annoyed he'd missed the cool part.

"Peter! What was that?"

"A building collapsed on me again."

"Agai- the fuck do you mean again?!"

"I mean it happened again," he grins. "If I had a nickel for every time this happened, I'd have two nickels. It's not a lot but it's weird it happened twice."

Tony throws his head back and groans.
"You're banned from pop culture jokes for the rest of tonight. I don't have the energy for this. Let's go home."

"Yes please. I'd like to sleep forever," Clint says laying down on the ground with them.

Sam follows, and then Thor, who just lets himself fall face first. Peter flinches in surprise at the loud thump of his body hitting the ground.

"Ugh," he groans tiredly. "I need... sleep."

"Alright it's decided! Let's go. After we get you checked out, kid."

He wraps his arm around his back, heaving him up to his feet and allowing him to lean his weight into him to keep it off his leg.

"Aw, what? That takes forever."

"Too bad. You've got a broken leg, broken ribs- I don't even know how you'd be opposed to this. C'mon, Let's go."

"Don't wanna," he mutters, dropping his head onto Tony's shoulder.

"This isn't up for debate- I'm done having this conversation."

"But Tony-"

"No!"

"Tony, you're such a dad," Clint says, grinning.

"If you mean the only responsible adult around here than yeah! I'm a fucking dad."

"Not with that mouth you're not."

"Can it, Steve."

"Uh oh! Language!"

Peter chuckles quietly as the team bickers playfully, their loud laughs ringing in the empty road.
He loves these people.

He tries to take a little bit of his weight off his mentor but it's just as painful as he should expect it to be. He hisses, cupping a hand around his ribs and hovering his leg above the ground. Tony notices and without word, he rubs his back, guiding him to lean in a little closer.

Maybe a visit to Cho wouldn't be so bad.

He won't tell Tony that though.
