Peter tries his best to please everyone. He can't be sad, he can't be hurt, he can't be mad. He just has to be the Peter everyone knows.

Trying so damn hard but it never seems to get him far

He tries so hard to be perfect so everyone else can be happy. But no. He still gets bullied, he still gets hurt, he still ruins lives.

He's the epitome of wannabe authority just like you see in movies

Trying so damn hard, he won't ever have to face his scars

People never seem to notice the emptiness in his eyes, or the fakeness in his laugh. So he takes advantage of that, laughs instead of cries, talks until he's through that anxiety attack.

Peter pushed himself away, and brought in a fake one to take his place. Real Peter is unhappy, depressed, mad, sad, and lonely.

But Fake Peter, he's happy, optimistic, forgiving, and loving.

No one sees Real Peter. Because Fake Peter's mask has been on for so long it'll take a hard hit to break.

He knows MJ never wanted to be his friend in the first place, much less his girlfriend. He forced himself on her, he made her be his friend. Then out of pity she accepted the proposal to be his girlfriend.

Everytime one person decides they don't like him, he feels his mask crack a little. But as soon as he gets home he glues it back together.

One crack could cause his mask to break, and Real Peter to come out.

Real Peter can't come out. No one will like Real Peter. Real Peter is a disgrace.

Fake Peter is loved. Fake Peter is the one everyone expects, so Fake Peter is what they get.

He remembers being told no one likes a sad grump. So he's happy and never gets mad. He remembers being told that no one likes hearing his problems. So he keeps them to himself, his problems are just as worthless as him.

He'll never say no 'cause he's scared of being less than enough

Never turn you down cause he's terrified of it all

Peter is scared that if he says no they won't like him anymore. They'll leave him and never talk to him again. All because of a two letter word. So instead of saying that awful two letter word he says that amazing three letter word.

Decisions, they don't come so easy when you think of everyone but yourself

He's been living lifeless like a paper doll

It's selfish to think about what you want and what you deserve.

So Peter thinks about what other people want, what other people deserve.

He's not important, other people are.

May was the last person to see the real him, to see Real Peter.

She cried the day she saw him, so Peter created Fake Peter. Fake Peter covered Real Peter perfectly, not letting anything escape until the mask was taken off.

The Avengers don't like him. They're only nice to him because he's a kid, and they don't want to hurt a kids feelings.

So he's who they tell him to be. "Strong" "Reliant" "Corporative" if he's not then he'll disappoint them.

Tony has seen Peter's mask come off before. He was watching Peter through the security cameras at the tower.

So Tony asked him if he was okay. He pried into the kids life and tried to get him to take the mask off. But Peter kept it on tight.
