"Shinki"

The Nara said looking right into his cousins eyes. The two of them started to wander after the elder people not really starting a conversation, it wasn't the right mood. After a while when all of the talking and crying had been done, the three Nara clan members say their byes to the others and start to head back to the leaf.

Walk back home with shinki and gaara wasn't the most pleasant one. Usually at this point gaara would ask how shinkis day had been or what would he like to eat today when they get home but now, there was none of that and both of the sand manipulators stayed quiet. Before going home gaara had to get few papers from the office and shinki decided to go with him just if araya or yodo would be there.

"Father, are you.... Are you upset?"

Shinki had to bring himself to ask hating to see his father act such a way. For few minutes the kazekage stayed quiet not even wanting to reply.

"I should have stopped him from going."

He only said making a deal with himself to not answer any more questions about Kankuro. Although shinki didn't really know what gaara had to do with his elder brothers death.

*earlier*

"Ayyy- don't worry about it, its not like he's going to kill me!"

Kankuro smirked slamming his hands on the desk gaara was sitting behind. Gaara pressed the bridge of his nose, he sure was going to yell at Kankuro if that's what it takes.

"You're not going! We do not even know what this person even looks like! Its way too dangerous for you."

"Pffth- you just want to kill him alone huh? Gaara you might be stronger but please I've had no fun since I was 13 I'll come back."

He didn't, he indeed didn't come home after that. He was found laying on the grass already dead by blood loss. Gaara could have taken him by the wrist and said to him that he's not really going but he didn't and that was bothering him, the red head blamed himself for his brothers death.

"Shinki! Are you okay ? We heard about what happened with Kankuro!"

Yodo took her team mate by the shoulders as this walked into the apartment making eye contact with the boy for few seconds before this shrugged away her hands.

"I'm ....I'm alright. Father on the other hand..."

The brunette muttered as he saw his father walk past him into his office yodos eyes also on the red head. As the door opens the third team member comes out holding few papers on his hands.

"Are you okay shinki?"

Araya also asks and annoyed by the same exact question shinki nodded getting slightly curious by what the masked boy is holding, not bothering to ask.

"Mr. Kazekage is not okay? I'm not surprised, it was his brother but.."

"But what?"

Shinki gives a mad glare at his blonde mate really exhausted by today. Yodo didn't care to continue talking it was usual for shinki to get an attitude over something stupid from time to time but his father was a sensitive topic and the blonde girl didn't really want to tease him about it.

When gaara was ready to leave it was already really dark outside and yodo had left with her parents a long time ago leaving the two boys alone. As both of the brown haired boys follow after the kazekage the unbreakable silence in the cold almost winter like wind was broken by araya.

"S-...shinki i know you might not care b...but I have something to say."

The masked boy said and shinki turned his head around to see the boy who was talking. His nose appeared red and you could see his way of breathing in small white clouds that left his mouth. It was freezing.

"What."

"These...these papers are for my very own mission but...but I suppose I need help."
