83) Studying
The next days Peter was barely seen. In the late evening there was still light I his room and in the night Pep and Tony sometimes heard him talk something to himself.
On the next Tuesday, he came downstairs, wearing his pajamas, having messy hair and deep, dark circles under the eyes.
"Studying? More like student dying! Am I right or am I right?" "Are... you okay?", Tony asked after seeing his son being fucked up like this. "I have been awake for 103 hours." Pepper's jaw dropped and called: "What the hell, Peter! You have to get some sleep!" "Do you want me to pass the finals?" "You still have time!" "I don't! Haven't you been through finals?!" Tony sighed and put Peter's breakfast on the table. Nobody said something to him. They just ate.
After school, Peter got right to his studies and homework.
That went on for the next days.
Every evening, at least twice, Pepper or Tony came into his room and checked, if he was sleeping. Mostly he was. Or at least trying to.
Avengers compound grew from day to day. Walls, ceilings, grounds and other stuff came and were build in. Soon it would be ready for painting.
"Mmm", Peter greeted everyone in the bathroom. Tony and Pepper were looking at a phone and laughing, while brushing their teeth. Walking behind them, Peter could see a cat on the screen. It was playing with a ball. Pepper giggled and put the phone away to spit out the tooth paste.
She roughed Peter's and Morgan's hair, who just came into the bathroom, and meant: "Morning, kids!"
Downstairs, Bruce had started, making breakfast. Pepper had told him a few times, that he doesn't have to do that, but he does it either way.
Pepper said good morning to him and they made coffee. "Tony! Peter! You want coffee?", called Pep upstairs. "Yes, sweety! Thanks!" "No, mom!", called Peter.
When everyone was downstairs, they ate together. Peter had his science book on his lap and read, looked up, cursed sometimes, and looked back down. Morgan talked happily with Bruce about how great it was, to be in 5th grade. She may be the youngest in the class, but she had gotten integrated in a group of girls. One was once called Nate, but now she's Eliza. Morgan liked very much, to have the courage that it takes, to go and just switch your gender!
Tony got informed about the work on HQ, while Pepper read the papers.
On the way to school, Peter and Morgan were talking to each other, for the first time today. It was mostly like this, since he stated to study for his finals. Bruce and Pepper knew, that Morgan felt a bit alone, because of it. Normally the two did more together, now she had to be alone, or with adults. She couldn't play with them like she did with her brother. It was just different.
Morgan didn't talk as much, and as happily as normally.
"Mo?", Peter asked softly, when he noticed, how quiet his sister was, "Are you okay?" "Yeah. I'm alright", she meant and looked out of the window. "Is everything okay in school?" "Yes." "C'mon, Morgan. You're oddly quiet. What's up? You can tell me." "No...", she whispered. "Morgan..." - Peter touched her arm cautiously and turned her around. She hit him again and again with her fists and a tear ran down her cheek. "You just don't have time for me! You're always looking in these damn books! We haven't played together in a week!" She was crying now. Many students, mostly from Middle School or Elementary, looked at them. Morgan had yelled, so everyone heard, what she said. "Morgan!", hissed Peter, "Shh!" She was still hitting him. Peter grabbed her wrists. Most of the kids in the bus turned back around and talked to each other again. Morgan tried to free herself, but Peter held her tightly. "Shh... shh...", he meant quietly and hugged her. "Shh... It's okay...
Let it out."
Morgan cried in her brothers arms and sobbed.
The bus stopped and Peter gave Morgan her backpack. She stood up and went with her brother out of the bus. The bus was only for Middle School and Elementary, but it wasn't that far to Peter's High School, so he swung the way or walked.
Because it was slowly getting colder outside, he decided to swing.
When he arrived, he still had eleven minutes. He went to his locker and passed Ned on the way. "Hey! You're late." "Sorry. I was as fast as I could, but I just fought with Mo..." "Oh. Why?" "Finals." "Hmm?" "She says, I don't have time for her. And-... I- I am so sorry if it's like that, but she doesn't get, how much I have to study!"

"You don't even have to study!-" "Ned!", Peter said and pointed out, that he was wrong. "- No. You wouldn't have to.
And... Just take the weekend to go play with her. And maybe in the evening an hour. She'll thank you!"
"Since when are you expert in things about siblings? You don't even have a sibling..." Ned chuckled and took some of his best friend's books.
"You actually don't have a sibling either...", Ned pointed out. "Ned! They're my family. You know that." "And Cap? Is he you uncle then?" "Dad and he aren't related." "But he was best buddies with his father, right?" "Yes...?" "So somehow they might have known each other." "No. Captain Rogers was already frozen, when Mr. Stark was born." "And... what about Vision? Isn't he your brother then?" "Ehr... I never thought about it like that...
Wouldn't that make Ultron my brother too?" "Oh. Yeah, nope not a good one." Peter chuckled and closed his locker. The two went together to class and sat down.
In Morgan's class it was loud. Everyone was talking.
When her teacher came in, they got quieter and in the end it was silent in the room. Not a single noise was heard, except the breaths from everyone.
Morgan sat in the first row, together with some girls. She had been sat there, so she could see perfectly to the front. "Good. Let's begin!", called the teacher.
Everyone stood up, took a deep breath and put their hands on their heart. Then they pledged the Pledge of Allegiance, while looking at the American flag with the red, white, blue and white stars on it.
Then the periods started.
Same at Peter's school. They pledged and the day started.
