The Sky (Part 3)
I realized you guys haven't seen a picture of Zelda. So here!
We've had her for three years and she's a bean
Peter woke the next morning to soft talking.
"Yeah, he has a really fast metabolism, so maybe as much as you, more just to be safe. We haven't really tested it," Tony said softly, trying not to wake Peter, even though Peter was already up. Peter brought his fist to his eyes and rubbed them. Tony smiled at him and ran his hand in circles on his back. Steve, who was at the doorway, smiled.
"And for you?" He asked Tony.
"Ah, you know," Tony waved him off. Steve rolled his eyes.
"Okay, I'll have FRIDAY alert you when its done," Steve said, turning down the hall. Tony called out a thanks before turning his attention to Peter.
"Morning, Buddy," Tony smiled. Peter looked up at him before tucking himself away in Tony's chest once more.
"Morning, Tony," Peter mumbled. Tony couldn't help but grin. Peter finally called him Tony.
It took a while for the two to finally get out of bed. Peter stretched, his bones popping in place. Tony did the same. They walked side by side to the living room, Peter gently clutching Tony's sleeve. They sat on the couch, Peter leaning heavily into Tony, who simply wrapped an arm around the kid.
It seemed that the rest of the team was fairing very well after the whole event. So it made Tony wonder. Why was it only Peter who was shaken up still? Sam was sprawled on the couch, flicking through the channels on the TV. Natasha was talking to Clint, who was perched on the back of the couch. Bruce was sitting in the only single chair, nursing his coffee. Steve walked past Clint, most likely coming from Wanda's room, and smacked him on the back of the head, causing Clint to tumble onto the cushions. Tony snickered.
"Watch it To- Ooh who are you?" Clint started out talking to Tony, but quickly shifted his attention once he saw Peter. Peter shrunk into Tony's side even more. Everyone was looking at them now. Tony rested his hand in Peter's hair.
"This is Peter, or Spiderman. He's pretty shaken up, so don't try anything with him, got it?" Tony not so subtly threatened them. Clint scoffed.
"Okay, mom," Clint said sarcastically. Sam snickered softly. Peter glanced up at Tony.
"You did kind of sound like a mom," he mumbled sheepishly. Tony gasped in fake offense.
"I can't believe you're on their side, even after I tried protecting you," Peter simply gave him his smile that melted Tony's heart, every goddamn time. It was then that Wanda shuffled in and flopped next to Clint.
"Morning sleeping-"
"Finish that and I'll castrate you," Wanda threatened Clint, who quickly snapped his mouth shut. Natasha was cackling.
"Man I feel targeted today," Clint grumbled. Bucky walked in and handed Tony a coffee, before walking right out. Peter was confused at this point. There are so many people here. He feels like he should be fanboying, but he can't bring himself too. A nap sounds nice though. He snuggled himself deeper into Tony and closed his eyes. The noise around him lulling him back to sleep. He was just on the edge of sleep when he felt Tony's hand start carding through his hair. He was out.
Clint was staring at Tony with a knowing smile.
"You're in deep with that kid, huh? He has you wrapped around his finger," and yeah, Tony couldn't help but agree, but he wasn't mad. It was about an hour later when FRIDAY informed them that breakfast was ready. Everyone but Tony and Peter (who was still napping) ran to the dining room. Tony sighed before gently shaking Peter awake. Peter blinked up blearily at him before rubbing at his eyes. Tony smoothed back some of his curls and placed a kiss on his head without thinking about it.
"Breakfast is ready Pete, let's go eat, yeah?" Peter hummed in agreement.
"Yeah, I'm starving," Tony couldn't help but smile. Old Peter was shining through. They were getting somewhere. They still walked extremely close and sat right next to each other. Peter instantly dug into his pancakes, as everyone else was doing as well. In the middle of the meal, Peter put his fork down and turned to Tony.
"May's gone, isn't she?" Peter asked solemnly. The chatter died quickly. Tony didn't say anything, just brought Peter into a hug.
"I felt it, in the stone. When she... left, I mean. I knew something happened," he mumbled into Tony's chest. He wasn't crying. It was like he was preparing for this moment. Oh. Maybe he was. With losing your parents, then your uncle, wouldn't you be prepared to lose your aunt?
"I'm sorry," Tony murmured. Peter shrugged.
"It's okay, I guess. I mean, I miss her, but there's nothing you can do," Peter pulled away and began picking at his pancakes once again.
This kid is something else.
