Stories to tell the world

You are not a victim for sharing your story. You are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth. And you never know who needs your light, your warmth and raging courage.

We all are full of stories. Sad stories, happy stories , funny stories, tragic stories, the "I almost died. Almost" stories, the "I was an idiot back then" stories. Stories that make us who we are today. Stories that we tell the world, and some stories that we keep a secret, either between our sisters, our brothers, some cousin, maybe best friend. And some stories, they just remain inside us, our own little secret within us. The story that lives within us and will die with us.

However there are some stories that need to be said, out loud , to the world, not just because someone did something wrong to you and you need to let them know that they hurt you. Or not because you need to tell the world how cruel it was to you. No . Not just those reasons. Some stories need to come out from the deepest corners of our hearts, from the back of our minds, from those dark rooms in our souls, not just so we can tell the world that what we suffered, but so that we can give light and directions to those who might be suffering from something similar to our troubles. You never know who might find guidance from reading or hearing your story, who might finally find the strength to come out to their parents, who might finally find the courage to stand up against bullies, you never know who might stop harming their own selves after reading or listening to how you got through the same tough times. And maybe somebody might just smile the only smile of their day hearing some funny incident that you told them, or maybe they might just laugh out loud somewhere in the middle of the day while thinking about something stupid that you did and almost got punished. And sometimes, telling your story to the someone might just be the bravest thing to do. It may also mean that you are finally ready to move on. That you are finally ready to let go of those chains of your past, that now you are finally ready for closure. You are finally ready to accept that whatever happened, it happened, for good or for bad, and that now you have the power to make your future the way you want to. Maybe by telling your story to the world, you are doing yourself a favor as much as your story will do to others. 

So speak, write, tell, communicate. You need that. You deserve that.
