AUTHOR'S NOTE: Welcome to Iridescence. If you enjoy Greek mythology, you'll enjoy this book. Unlike most of my books, this one is told in the first person with different characters narrating different chapters. Each chapter lists the POV at the beginning.

The cast list may be edited later to add more deities or other important characters.

CAST OF CHARACTERS

THE GIRLS:
ELIZA ALDEN

Eliza is shy and gentle. She spends most of her time reading and playing the piano. She has an enormous heart and will do anything to help others. Her house is a war zone because her parents are almost always arguing. Krissy is her best friend in the world, and her home is Eliza's sanctuary. She is blessed by Apollo and has an affinity for Air.

KRISTEN "KRISSY" BERRY

Krissy is hyper and can't sit still because she consumes entirely too much caffeine on a daily basis. She loves to have fun and is always up for an adventure. She gives almost everyone nicknames (unless their name is already short) because she likes things to be fast. Her parents died in an accident when she was eleven. She currently lives with her aunt Abby. Krissy is blessed by Poseidon and has an affinity for Water.

FAITH EDWARDS

Faith is wild and unpredictable. Her impulsive nature often gets her into trouble. She's fun at parties and never does what people expect her to. People are afraid to cross her but she is an extremely loyal friend. She is a strong fighter and is very street smart. Faith is blessed by Prometheus and has an affinity for Fire.

EMILY KANG

Emily is an outcast and she prefers it that way. She doesn't let people in and is angry at the world, but beneath her rage is a lot of pain. Her tragic past is a mystery when the story begins but it makes her reluctant to trust anyone, even the Gods. Emily is blessed by Hades and has an affinity for Spirit.

JENNA RAMOS

Jenna is the star athlete at the high school. She is the captain of several sports teams and is a nationally-ranked track star. She is very grounded and practical and has a kind heart. Jenna is blessed by both Ares and Nike and has an affinity for Earth.

VANESSA SINGH

Vanessa is creative and funny. She is a theater kid who loves acting and singing. She is transgender and has been living as her true self since the fourth grade. Vanessa is blessed by Morpheus and has an affinity for Dreams.

GODS & GODDESSES
APOLLO

Apollo is the God of the Sun. He is also a God of Healing, Prophecy, Music, and Archery. He's the twin brother of Artemis and is the only male she sort of tolerates. He is sarcastic and snarky but can also be very kind and gentle if the mood strikes him.

ARES

Ares is the God of War. He is aggressive and angry about 99% of the time, and he has little patience for those who don't serve his interests.

ARTEMIS

Artemis is the Goddess of the Moon. She is also a Goddess of the Hunt, Archery, Wild Animals, and Vegetation. She has little tolerance for men or for stupidity, yet she somehow puts up with her twin brother, Apollo.

HADES

Hades is the God of Death. He rules over the Underworld. He can be an asshole, but he also has a kinder side he tries to hide. It always surprises others when it comes out. He is the twin brother of Zeus and the older brother of Poseidon.

HERA

Hera is the Goddess of Marriage and Family. She is married to Zeus and is the Queen of the Olympians. It is never wise to anger her. Her wrath is legendary.

HERMES

Hermes is the God of Messengers, Travelers, and Thieves. He is hyper and swift. He occasionally parties too hard but is a very good guy.

MORPHEUS

Morpheus is the God of Dreams. He is generally stoic and reserved, but he does have a lighter side to him. He has great compassion for mortals.

NIKE

Nike is the Goddess of Victory. She literally doesn't know how to fail. She can be a little intense.

POSEIDON

Poseidon is the God of the Sea. He is the younger brother of Zeus and Hades. He's generally laid-back and has a great sense of humor, but those who anger him will face his wrath. He causes storms and earthquakes.

PROMETHEUS

Prometheus is the God of Fire. He is known to be rebellious against the Gods if it means helping humanity. He is clever and is a trickster God. He enjoys people who do the unexpected.

ZEUS

Zeus is the God of the Sky and Lightning and is the King of the Gods. He is the father of Apollo and Artemis as well as several others. He is married to Hera. They fight like cats and dogs, (mostly due to Zeus's enormous ego and his habit of cheating on her) but they do love each other very much.
