~Zane's POV~

I felt extremely lucky when I came out of the tower at dusk. During the whole attack, I had hid in the corner, praying to whatever being that is above, to let me not die.

I've had too many close encounters.

When the shouts and explosions faded, I still didn't come out. I waited until dusk, so that even if there was any remaining soldiers, they wouldn't see me.

Walking out, I looked over the destruction. Smoke billowed from different places, and houses looked ready to fall.

Going through the streets, I stare at the bodies scattered across the town. "Ugh.." I hear from a small house to my right. I go in, and look around.

Finally, hidden in a cubbyhole, I found the source of the noise.

Golden eyes stared at me, covered partially by bright blue hair. "Who are you?" She asked, voice kinda high-pitched as to just be slightly annoying.

I didn't know if she had heard of me, or if anyone has told her of me.

"I'm Zane... who are you?"

She didn't react to my name, just tilting her head slightly. "I'm Nekoette~Tan. Do you know what happened? Do you know where Mommy~Chan is?"

It took me a moment to process this. Mommy~Chan?

Then I realized.

Kawaii~Chan.

Oh shit.

~short but it's something. I'm happy I actually typed this up.

Well, next chapter, back to boat and we'll see...
