TDG Task #7 - Disconnected
Prompt: You're trapped indoors with a storm outside and no electricity (+ no lights). How do you spend your days?

It was dark.
I fumbled around in my sudden cage of shadows, waving my limbs around - one of my hands came in contact with something solid, but before I could seize onto it, it suddenly wasn't there in the favour of a loud, resounding crash against the floor.
Outside, I could hear the wind howling like a lunatic; clawing down electrical cables and seething at teardrop-shaped houses like a rabid animal. I shivered - the heat hadn't begun to escape the grand HomePod yet, but it wouldn't be long before it did.
Then, something poked me in the back.
I screamed, turning around and scrambling to get back when I tripped over something on the floor and went down like a bowling pin.
Laughter resounded from somewhere above me, and I froze in fear as a flickering shadow emerged across the wall - one gruesome, tall creature with a tall forehead and two ghastly arms -
"Hey, bud," Scott's face appeared upside-down over mine, a candle in one hand. "Whatcha doing down there?"
I blinked up at my AirBnb host and gave an awkward six-armed shrug. "Nothing."
"Well, when you're done doing nothing, Hope's making smores upstairs. Join if you'd like - I don't really know what tardigrades eat, but you might like it."
He turned to leave, and I scrambled to my feet.
"Wait! I'm coming," I yelped, not wanting to let the bit of light out of my sight. Even if it wasn't the light of my budding Instagram page or the light of the latest Shadowhunters episode, it was still light.
"Eager are we," he laughed. I didn't really understand at the time - I wanted to talk to friends and discover fanart and watch Malec, there wasn't much else I was eager for besides a WiFi connection.
But it turned out, there was still a lot to be eager for.
