It's all so much clearer now.

The sun had risen over the treetops, streaming light between the solid plastic of the bedroom blinds. A hand whisks blearily over a groggy face, before fumbling noisily on the nightstand, seeking out the familiar, sleek frame of plastic.

She aligns it with her eyes, and slides it onto her face. The curved arms cup the dip between her cheekbones and her temples like second nature, coming to a rest just behind her ears. The dark frames enhance her dark eyes, but a glance of light across its surface paints them blue.

She fogs up the glass and rubs them, before placing them back on her nose. She blinks in the mirror and sighs.

It's all so much clearer now.
