TDG Task #20 - The Jump Ball
It landed, transforming into a bottle of Pure Leaf green tea.
Janice approached it first - being the more adventurous one out of the two sisters. "Huh. It's still cold and everything," she commented, picking the lid up between thumb and forefinger. Jessie peeked out from behind her.
"What is it?"
"'Green tea with honey'," Janice read. "Caffeinated."
"OOH GIVE ME THAT." Jessie all but ripped the bottle from Janice's hands, hardly slowing to check the label before breaking the seal and chugging down half the bottle.
"I'm not sure that's entirely safe!" Janice protested, her forearm stinging from where Jessie's pure-evil fingernails scratched her skin.
"NEVER TURN DOWN A CHANCE FOR CAFFEINE." Jessie responded, her irises like specks in her unnaturally widened eyes.
"Jess-"
"NEVER."
Janice winced, feeling sick. The liquid was bubbling and turning a milky pink colour, but between Jessie's lips sealed around the neck of the bottle and the boils bubbling up on her forehead, there seemed to be no saving her sister now.
"Jess-" She tried again.
"NO."
This was not safe. At the rate they were going, Jessie was either going to combust or melt in the next few seconds, and Janice really did not want that to be the end of her sister. Taking a deep breath, Janice walked up to her sister and slapped her, full-force, across the face.
The bottle popped out of her lips and shot into the sky, spewing the remaining liquid everywhere. Jessie's face took on a purplish hue, and before Janice's eyes, she turned into a featherless chicken.
What was in that thing? Janice shielded her eyes against the glaring sun, looking around for the bottle. But nothing was to be found - it seemed to have vanished into thin air.
