Seetha
As I reached the front entrance of our neighbor's house, still blushing slightly at what he had done inside the room, my eyes landed on Mama and Elangovan sir. They were seated together, engrossed in a conversation with the others.
Mama noticed me and smiled warmly. I returned his smile and took a step towards him, but before I could reach him, my parents arrived and asked if we should leave.
With a reluctant nod, I agreed, though my heart wasn't entirely in it. Just as we were leaving, I caught sight of Aayush sir. Unable to resist, I playfully winked at him before walking away not before casting a pleading look at my junior, the younger sister of the mother-to-be, who was seeing me with a wide smile.
Ivaru'naala junior pullainga kitta'laa kenja vendiyadhaa irukku. Perumaaley!
(Because of him, I have to plead with my juniors. God!)
Once we arrived home, Appa questioned me about the training task. I confidently explained the task planned for the upcoming week, for real. Although I hadn't informed Aayush sir about it beforehand, he had somehow managed to skillfully blend truth with a lie when speaking with my parents.
To my surprise, they not only believed him but also suggested, on their own, that I could visit Aayush sir's house if I had any doubts.
Suppressing a grin, I nodded in agreement before retreating to my room.
After freshening up, I pulled out the invisible magic paper. The markings had deepened to a richer purple hue since the last time I saw them.
Pressing my lips together, I stared at the paper with a tinge of sadness before deciding to distract myself. I began searching for romantic movies to watch with him tonight for the first time and eventually settled on Roja, a classic by Mani Ratnam, sir.
First time maniratnam sir movie paaka poren. Aiyoo!
(First time, I'm going to watch a Mani Ratnam sir movie. Wow!)
Grinning at the thought, I let myself drift off into a deep sleep for the entire evening. Later, after dinner, just as I was about to turn invisible, a new idea struck me. Without hesitation, I picked up my phone and dialed Aayush sir's number.
"Hello"
I heard his voice, and in a soft whisper, I said,
"Hello.. odane kelambi enga'aathu pinnaadi irukka thottathukku vare'laa?"
(Hello... Could you come quickly to the garden behind my house?)
"Aathu pinnaadi irukka thottam'ah??"
(The garden behind your house?)
He asked, sounding a bit confused.
"Aama"
(Yes)
"Yedhukku?"
(For what?)
"Nekku inniku invisible aagi vara pudikala, professor. Adhaa.. naan pinnaadi valiyaa varen. Aana angerndhu epdi thaniyaa unga veetukku varadhu? Company kudungo"
(I don't feel like coming invisibly today, Professor. So... I'll take the back route to your house. But how do I come alone from there? Give me company)
I heard his chuckle on the other end, and then he said,
"Fraud'uh! Varen vai"
(Fraud! Cut the call, I'll come now)
He ended the call abruptly. I smiled, and waited for him to call me back, standing near the backdoor. I had already closed my room door, leaving it unlocked, and also had arranged the pillows and duvet inside to make it look like I was still there, in case anyone saw from outside.
Nervously, I kept glancing at my phone and the garden, my thoughts filled with excitement and uncertainty. Then, I noticed a shadow moving towards me.
But, before I could react, a hand grabbed me, pulling me closer. I yelped, but he swiftly placed his hand over my mouth, shushing me.
Why does he always have to pull me like this instead of just calling me?
Rolling my eyes, I pushed him away and we walked away after locking the door slowly and then after a minute, we reached his house and the room.
I huffed in relief, on reaching his room safely and fanned my face with my hands.
"En praanane poidum pola, ungala kalyanam pannikkardhukulla"
(Feels like my life might just slip away, just before I could marry you)
He gave me a 'are you serious?' look, his eyebrows raised and arms crossed beneath his chest.
I smiled sheepishly at him.
Aana, cute'ah irukkaare !
(But, he's looking so cute !)
"Seri seri.. time waste panna venaa vaanga"
(Alright, alright... Don't waste the time, come on)
I leaned against the headboard of his bed, stretching my legs out, as he locked the door and...
Switched off the lights.
The room turned dim, with only the soft glow of a single lamp casting shadows around us. I gulped nervously as I watched him walk towards me, his hand absently rubbing his left beard, his steps steady but somehow intense.
Whether it was the dim lighting or the way he moved, I couldn't tell, but the memory of two nights ago rushed back to me-the way he kissed not only my lips, but also my neck, collarbone, and shoulders.
A sudden warmth spread through me, and I stammered,
"Ye..ye.. yedhukku light off panninga?"
(Wh..why did you turn off the lights?)
"Yen? unga veetla mattum dha night room'le light yerinjaa enna'nu question pannuvaangalaa? En veetlayum dha pannuvaanga"
(Why? Only your parents question you when your room lights are on at night? It's the same at my place too)
He said and sat beside me on the bed. I gulped, instinctively shifting slightly away from him, creating some distance between us.
"Enna movie paakalaam?"
(Which movie shall we watch?)
I asked, trying to break the tension in the air.
But he just stared at me, silent, making me shiver a little under his gaze.
"En..enna apdi paakurel?"
(Wh-what? Why are you looking at me like that?)
I asked, feeling nervous.
He sighed, scratched his forehead, and replied with sarcasm,
"Ippo yedhukku ipdi nadungeetu utkaandhirukka? Nee venaa inga bed'le iru, naan poi couch'le utkaandhukuren. Rendu perum nalla saendhu utkaandhu movie paakalaam. Okay dhane?"
(Why are you shivering like this now? If you want, you can stay here in the bed, and I'll go settle on the couch. We could both relax and watch the movie together. Okay?)
I huffed, twisting my lips in frustration. Shifting a little closer to him, I felt his silent movement as he pulled the duvet up to our waist.
Achacho!
The butterflies in my stomach were impossible to ignore-being under the duvet with him, sharing the bed.
Trying to suppress the excitement, I asked,
"Roja movie paathiruke'laa?"
(Have you watched Roja?)
"Mmm.. mm, paathirukanae"
(Mmm... mm, I've seen it)
He replied thoughtfully.
"Appo adhu podatumaa?"
(Then, shall we watch that movie?)
I asked, looking at him expectantly. But,
"But, it deals with terrorism as well. Are you okay with that?"
He asked, his tone a little more serious.
"Terrorism'ah? Romantic movie'nu dha sonnaa"
(Terrorism? They said it's a romantic movie)
I replied, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
But he raised his left brow alone, looking at me intently, and asked,
"Yaaru sonnaa?"
(Who told?)
"Heee.. Googleyy"
I grinned at him, suppressing my laugh. He sighed, shaking his head.
"Romance irukkum dha. Seri podu, nalaiku naan soldra movie paakalaam"
(There's romance in it, though. Alright, let's watch it. Tomorrow, we can watch the movie I would suggest)
"Nalaiku?"
(Tomorrow?)
"Mmm"
"Naan epdi varuven?"
(How would I come?)
"Epdiyaadhu vaa. Adhu unnoda vela"
(Come however you want. That's your job)
He said nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders. I smiled widely at him, masking my annoyance, but in my mind, I cursed him thoroughly.
Enna pa aalu ivaru.
(What kind of person is he?)
But I hissed slightly when he tugged at my nose, and I heard him say,
"Mandaikkulla enna thittunadhu podhum. Padatha podu, di"
(That's enough of cursing me in your head. Just play the movie now)
I shot him a sly look and began searching for the movie, feeling a sense of pride since I had already downloaded it. Without wasting any time, I played Roja, but not before we plugged in the earphones, each of us taking one side.
I grinned at him, and he shook his head with a soft smile. Then, leaning back against the headboard, he casually placed his arm behind me on the headboard.
And, with a comfortable closeness settling between us, we started watching the movie together.
Aayush
Oru padam paaka othukittadhu thappaa pochey!
(Agreeing to watch a movie together turned out to be a mistake!)
I sighed as she squealed and bombarded me with questions barely 20 minutes into the movie.
"Heroine aaru?"
(Who's the heroine?)
"Appo avaala dha puduchirukku'nu solluvaa, correct'ah?"
(So he's going to say that he likes her, right?)
"Naan sonnen'le?"
(I told you, right?)
"Aww cute'uh"
"Paavam'le?"
(I feel pity for her)
"Idhenna paatu? oti vitravaa?"
(What kind of song is this? Shall I fast-forward it?)
When I refused, she hesitated but still watched the song "Rukkumani Rukkumani" , her hands fisted tightly over her lips, blushing and squirming. I couldn't help but suppress a laugh and gently patted the top of her head. She immediately whined and pushed my hand away, her focus locked on the screen, not even blinking her eyes.
"Aiyoooo, idhennaa ivlo close'ah aadraa? perumaaleyy!"
(Aiyoooo, what's with them dancing so close? Oh my god!)
And with that, the song ended, but her questions and squeals didn't stop.
"Achacho!"
She giggled as the hero kissed the heroine's cheek.
Yes, she was squealing just for a cheek kiss.
Aandavaa!
(God!)
"Smoke pandraa, chey"
(He's smoking, ugh)
"Pudikala'naa vitranum'le? Yen kattaaya paduthuraa? Nekku ivaala pudikave illa.. vera movie sollungo"
(If she doesn't like it, then he should leave. Why is he forcing her? I don't like him at all... Tell me another movie)
She said, clearly uncomfortable with what was happening on screen and was about to pause the movie, but I swatted her hand away, tapping the back of her palm. She winced and gave me a pout.
"Poruma. Poruma romba mukkiyam. Amaidhiyaa padatha paaru, di"
(Patience. Patience is really important. Just watch the movie calmly)
She twisted her lips in frustration but reluctantly continued to watch the movie.
"Avaa akka dhane thappu pannaa? Avaalukku poi support pandraa? Enna ponnu ivaa?"
(Isn't her sister the one who did the wrong? Why is she supporting her? What kind of girl is she?)
I sighed.
"Aahn. Ippo regret panni enna seiya?"
(Aah. Now, what's the point of regretting?)
She's talking more than the dialogues in the movie!
"Aiyyooo, paav.."
I quickly moved my hand behind her and closed her mouth, with my palm. She lifted her face, narrowing her brows and looking at me with a mix of surprise and irritation.
"Pesaama paaru"
(Watch it!)
I mouthed and she grumpily turned her face back towards the screen, still watching the film with my hand covering her mouth.
"Mmm... mm... mmm"
Her eyes widened as she glanced at me, clearly surprised, as the screen showed the leads being captured on camera without their knowledge.
"Shhh"
She glared at me for a moment before turning her attention back to the screen.
Slowly, she leaned back onto my chest, and I felt her cheek warm with a blush against my fingers as the song 'Pudhu Vellai Mazhai' played.
Smiling softly, I took off my hand from her mouth and placed it gently on her stomach.
She pulled up her knees and cuddled closer to me, still holding her phone with both hands, her gaze fixed on the screen. I watched her fluttering eyes, completely enchanted by the moment.
"Aiyyoooo bagavaaneyy!"
She quickly covered her face with her hands, feeling shy. I couldn't help but chuckle softly, finding her irresistibly cute.
"Hey"
I gently pulled her hands away from her face as she shook her head, and I then paused the song.
"Aiyo kaiya vidungo. Naan paat'eh fast forward panna poren"
(Leave my hand. I'm going to fast forward the song)
"Romantic movie paakanum'nu solleetu, romance vara song'eh fast forward panna poriyaa?"
(You said we should watch a romantic movie, and now you're going to fast-forward the romantic song in the movie?)
The corner of her lips curved into a smile, but she kept wriggling against my grip on her hands.
"Illa, naan paakala. Venaa, please"
(No, I won't watch it. I don't want to, please)
"Please'ah? Adipaavi! Nee kaetta'nu dha naanu paathuttu irukken. Ennamo naan unna force panni paaka vakkira maadhiri please'ngra?"
(Please, huh? You girl! I'm watching it just because you asked. And here you are saying 'please' as if I'm forcing you to watch it)
"Aama naan dha sonnen. Aana idhu venaam"
(Yeah, I did say it. But I don't want this)
She continued to pout at me, but I squinted at her suspiciously and asked,
"Venaamaa?"
(You don't want this?)
I tilted my head, trying to catch a glimpse of her lowered, fully flushed face.
She quickly turned away, hiding her face from my view, and responded with a soft hum.
"Mmm"
"Seri okay"
I gently released her hands, fast-forwarded the song, and noticed how her face had lost its color.
Suppressing a smirk, I hit play on the movie, then wrapped my left arm around her waist, placing it on her stomach, while holding the phone with my other hand. I pulled her closer, and she leaned back into me, resting her head on my shoulder.
We continued watching the movie in silence, now following the intense scenes of terrorism as the heroine fought to free her husband from the terrorists.
But, she shifted in her place, turning in bed, completely leaning on me with her right cheek, and right breast against my chest, comfortably. I smiled, placed my chin on top of her head, feeling her hands fist my loose vest at the center of my chest.
As she was so immersed in the movie that she didn't even notice my gentle touches-combing her hair, kissing the top of her head, shaping her ear, and stroking her cheek. I couldn't help but smile, enjoying the moment as she watched the movie with such sincerity.
As the movie ended, she sniffled softly, wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes, trying to hide her emotions from me. I smiled to myself, pretending not to notice her subtle actions.
And, when she sat up straight, tucking stray strands of hair behind her ear, I asked,
"Nallaarndhadhaa?"
(Was it good?)
She looked up at me and smiled, responding,
"Mmm.. super'ah irundhadhu. Avanga husband kaaga evlo fight pannaanga. Best'uh!"
(Mmm.. it was great. She fought so hard for her husband. Best!)
"Avanga husband'uhm dha wife'eh paathe aaganum'nu avlo risk eduthu thappichu vandhaaru"
(Her husband also took so much risk and escaped from them just to see his wife)
I stretched my arm, which had been around her for almost two hours, and she smiled at me, replying,
"Aama. Avarum dha best!"
(Yes. He was also best!)
I chuckled softly as she turned towards the restroom door, fidgeting her fingers, nervously.
Pulling off the duvet, I stepped out of the room, giving her the privacy she needed. After grabbing two packets of chocolate milkshakes, I returned a few minutes later, but slowed my steps when I saw her.
She was sitting on the bed, turned away from me, her legs crossed, with her hair cascading over her left shoulder, deeply engrossed in her phone.
Frowning, I placed the milkshakes on the table next to the bed.
Then, tying my hands behind my back, I walked towards her, slowly and leaned over her shoulder.
But, I suppressed a gasp as I saw the song she was watching, 'Pudhu vellai mazhai' , the very same song she had refused to watch earlier when we were together.
Biting my lower lip, I studied her side profile, admiring the delicate curve of her eyelashes, still without a blink. Her lips were slightly curled up, and a faint blush colored her cheeks, illuminated by the light from the phone in her hands.
My gaze traveled further down to her neck and shoulder, where the little hair stood up in goosebumps. The smoothness of her neck urged me to do something impulse, so I blew a gentle breath against her skin, without thinking.
She didn't turn, but her eyes were squeezed shut tightly, as if she was afraid of getting caught.
"Enjoying alone?"
I whispered near her ear. She gulped, opened her eyes, and her fingers desperately attempted to halt the song on YouTube, but I smirked when she failed.
Then, looking at her neck, I leaned in, and gave it a quick kiss at the centre and she dropped her mobile on the bed.
⛄⛄
The impulse consumed me completely as I parted my lips, trailing a line along her sculpted neck, sucking gently until I reached just behind her ear. Then, hurriedly nibbled at the crook of her neck, causing her to gasp and shiver, her body instinctively leaning to the left as her fists clenched the mattress on either side of her.
But, before she could turn, I grasped her neck from behind and proceeded to lick her neck with my tongue before biting them between my teeth, with my thumb tracing her parted lips and my other hand clutching her waist.
That led her to groan out loud, but I quickly silenced her next to her ear.
"Shh"
She tried to pull away, but before she could fully turn, I wrapped my arm around her waist from behind, lifting her effortlessly off the bed, keeping her still in a sitting position.
Holding her close, I buried my face near her nape, inhaling the soft, fragrance of her.
Intoxicating to the core!
Fuck. With a soft thud, I settled onto the couch, her body now resting on my lap. She gasped softly, a faint whine escaping her lips now and then, but I ignored them, pushing the cascade of her hair away from her back and leaned in, pressing a kiss against her nape.
She gasped, her head falling back to rest against my shoulder as my hands slid over her thighs, the fabric of her cotton night pants barely hindering my touch. It felt as though I were touching her bare skin, making me groan.
Her fingers tightened around mine, and I drew her closer, my legs wrapping gently around her calves. A soft moan slipped from her lips in response. And, I pressed my lips to her neck, planting hot kisses along the curve of her side, nibbling and sucking at the sensitive spot in the middle. She arched into me, shuddering as my hands continued their slow journey along her thighs, all the way to her waist and then down to her knees.
At some moment, she intertwined her fingers over her stomach, her moans growing louder as she shifted her hips in my lap, sending a shiver through me. I leaned in closer, my breath grazing her ear, unable to control the tension building between us.
"Quiet down, Seetha"
I whispered, my lips brushing behind her ear.
Kissing her nape, burying my face in her hair, I inhaled her scent as she trembled beneath my touch, stammering,
"Pr... professor"
I hummed softly, pressing a kiss down her nape to the exposed skin of her collarbone, before returning to her neck, lingering behind her ear.
"We're not doing this... ahh"
She stammered, her breath hitching, with a moan as I squeezed the side of her right thigh, pushing my fingers between her clenched thighs, whispering harshly,
"We. Are. Doing. This, Seetha"
I brushed a quick kiss on her shoulder before slipping my other hand beneath her top, drawing her closer until her back was pressed firmly against my chest, leaving no space between us.
And, she turned towards me, slowly, her lips parted, her eyes searching mine.
"What are you doing, professor?"
She asked, her voice barely a whisper.
In one swift motion, I turned her completely, keeping my hand steady between her thighs as I guided her feet to rest on the couch beside us, lifting her thighs.
Then, withdrawing my other hand from beneath her top, I gently cupped the back of her neck, her warmth radiating against my palm, and she closed her eyes.
My fingers on her thigh traced a slow path downward savoring every curve of her leg, eventually cradling her left foot. As my thumb brushed over her curled in toes, I leaned in close and whispered against her neck, my voice felt soft and trembling, almost fragile.
"Why can't I be the one to do all this for you, Seetha?"
Even, I wasn't entirely sure of the exact answer to the question I had asked, but in that moment, all I craved was her surrender-her acceptance of everything, allowing me to be completely consumed by her, by every inch of her essence.
She locked eyes with me, her gaze searching, confusion in her voice as she asked,
"I didn't understand, Professor"
"Enakkum puriyala, Seetha"
(I didn't understand either, Seetha)
I murmured, my words heavy with emotions that I couldn't quite put into words.
With a sigh, I leaned back on the couch, swallowing hard, reluctantly letting go of her foot and neck. But before I could fully regain control, the urges to kiss her, to claim her, to fuck her, she grabbed the straps of my loose vest and tugged me back towards her.
And, my eyes fluttered shut as the warmth of her lips met mine. I drew in a deep breath, my hands instinctively circling her slim waist, tilting my head to deepen the kiss.
Pulling her closer, feeling her soft body pressed against me, I held her tighter in my arms, making her whimper.
Her left hand curled behind me, resting on my shoulder, while her right moved to the back of my neck, fingers tangled in my hair. When my hands slipped beneath her top, cupping the sides of her waist, my thumbs tracing her skin, she tugged my hair harshly, gasping as her lips parted.
There.. I deepened the kiss, twirling my tongue inside her mouth before biting her lower lip, pulling it between my lips as she whimpered softly, a quiet moan slipping from her as I held her closer and closer.
As the heat of the moment intensified, my right hand on it's own moved beneath her track pants, and her hand found its way to my bicep and then to my chest, resting over my vest. We jerked apart, both breathless, at the sound of a whisper,
'Aayush...' followed by a knock at the door.
☃️☃️
The sound felt distant, muffled by the overwhelming desire filling my mind and senses, making everything else fade away.
"Aayush..."
The sound increased, and I turned to face her who was panting heavily, her eyes closed, lips parted in an almost desperate way. Gently, I stroked her back, my hands slowly withdrawing from beneath her top. I cupped her cheeks, guiding her to look at me, her eyes still barely open.
I had to suppress a groan at the sight of her-looking sexy and the way she looked in that moment made every inch of me ache with wanting to fuck her right away. But I fought the urge, knowing I had to hold back. I carefully made her sit on the couch.
Glancing into her wide, unblinking doe-like eyes, their quiet intensity rooted me in place. Breaking away from her gaze, I turned towards the door as the knock echoed again, but she reached out, her fingers wrapping around my thumb, halting me in my tracks.
I turned, looked into her eyes, and leaned down to her height, cradling her jaw as I pressed my lips to hers. Then, sucking her lips alternately for a brief moment, I let her lower lip go with a soft pop before gently removing her hand from mine.
Holding her gaze for a lingering second, I finally turned to open the door, only to find my father standing there, concern etched across his face.
"Ennaachu, pa?"
(What happened, pa?)
I asked, attempting to mask the tension bubbling inside by fidgeting with my mustache and beard, my lips hidden beneath the motion. Then, after chewing my lips for a moment, I let my hands fall to my sides as I heard him ask,
"Enna pa panneetu irundha?"
(What were you doing?)
I gulped, trying to steady my voice.
"Ye... yen pa dh... dhideernu ipdi kekuringa?"
(Wh..why are you ask..asking like this, suddenly, pa?)
Then, I silently cursed myself for stammering more than I had anticipated.
"Illa.. romba nerama kooptute irundhen. Nee onnume sollala. Adhaa bayandhutten"
(No... I was just calling you for a long time. You didn't say anything. That's why I got scared)
He replied.
I exhaled, with a sigh of relief and said,
"Onnula pa. Headset pottutu movie paathuttu irundhen. Adha.."
(Nothing, dad. I was watching a movie with my headset on. So..)
"Ohh"
He responded, before glancing inside the room over my shoulder.
"Pa..."
I started, but he cut me off with a serious look, saying,
"Seetha've kaano'nu, avanga veetla police vandhirukkaanga, Aayush"
(Since Seetha's father filed a complaint about her being missing, the police have come to their house, Aayush)
I gasped loudly in shock, my mind racing.
"En... enna pa soldringa?"
(Wha..what are you saying, pa?)
But, he asked,
"Seetha enga?"
(Where's Seetha?)
I gulped hard, unable to meet his gaze.
"Seetha enga, Aayush?"
(Where's Seetha, Aayush?)
He repeated.
"Appa..."
"Thallu"
(Move aside)
His tone was firm, and he took a step forward, but I quickly grabbed his hand, stopping him.
He looked at me, confusion in his eyes.
"Seetha inga dha pa irukaa"
(Seetha is here, pa)
I murmured.
He stared at me for a second, before saying,
"Koopdu"
(Call her)
I looked up at him nervously.
"Koopdu'nu sonnen"
(I said, call her)
"Ap..."
I stopped myself when I heard the soft jingle of anklets.
His gaze shifted behind me, then back to me.
"Enna, Aayush, idhellaa?"
(What is this, Aayush?)
"Ma..mama..."
She murmured, stammering.
"Padhatta padaadha, ma. Veetukku'laa therila. Naan unna veliya vara vaika dha apdi sonnen"
(Don't worry, ma. They didn't know anything. I told him just to make you come outside)
He said to her, his voice a bit softer now.
I closed my eyes in relief, but before I could fully relax, I heard his voice again, sharp and full of concern.
"Aayush"
I looked at him hesitantly, not knowing what to say.
"Just go and leave her safely at her house. And Seetha..."
He glanced at her, his tone firm.
"You shouldn't come out at night like this, hereafter.."
"Illa, mama, movie paak..."
(Mama, I just came here to watch a mov..)
She tried to explain.
"Yedhukkaa irundhaalum, venaa, ma. Konjam porumaiyaa irunga. Naane unga veetla vandhu pesuren. Mm?"
(Whatever the reason may be, ma, just be patient, both of you. I'll come to your house and talk to them, okay?)
His words were gentle but resolute as he turned his gaze to me.
I rubbed my nape in frustration, knowing there was no point in saying anything further.
"Poi vittutu vaa"
(Just make sure you return after leaving her safely at her house)
He added, his voice softer now. I nodded silently and entered the room to grab my shirt, and she followed me.
After putting on my shirt, I cupped her cheeks gently, and asked,
"You okay? Shall we leave? Illanaa konja neram irundhuttu apro polaamaa?"
(Or shall we leave after a while?)
She nodded, and I leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her left cheek.
"Give me some time"
I whispered, with our foreheads resting together, and our breaths mingling.
Her lips curved into a smile, and with a soft whisper, she said,
"I love you"
Smiling, I pressed a quick kiss to her swollen lips before taking her wrist and leading her out of the room.
As we stepped into the living room, I spotted my father sitting on the couch.
"Sorry, mama"
She muttered.
He walked forward, stood in front of us, and ruffled Seetha's hair with a gentle smile.
"I don't want my children getting into any trouble. You understood that, right?"
I smiled at him as he looked at both of us, and I turned to find Seetha smiling at him as well.
"Puriyardhu, mama"
(Yes)
She said softly.
"Good. Paathu ponga"
(Careful)
He replied with a smile before looking at me and adding,
"Vittutu seekro vaa, Aayush"
(Return back soon, Aayush)
"Okay, pa"
I responded. After giving him a quick hug, I grabbed Seetha's wrist again, and we stepped out, walking in silence, with only the sounds of the breeze and insects filling the air.
When we reached the back of her house and she opened the backdoor, I stopped her.
She turned with a knowing smile and hugged me tightly, standing on her toes with her arms wrapped around my neck. Smiling back, I hugged her back around her waist and kissed the side of her forehead.
But then I frowned, feeling a burning sensation on my skin. I pulled back slightly and placed the back of my hand against her forehead, then her throat, feeling that she was warmer than usual.
"Fever irukka maadhiri irukku"
(It feels like you have a fever)
I said, concerned.
She stared at me, not responding right away.
"Enna?"
(What?)
I asked gently.
But, I chuckled slightly when she continued to stare at me, and then I pushed her back lightly against the wall beside the door, leaning in closer.
"Yen di apdi paakura?"
(Why are you looking at me like this, di?)
I asked softly.
"Kattipe'laa?"
(Will you embrace forever?)
She replied, her voice tinged with fear and excitement.
"Yedha kattikanum?"
(Who should I embrace forever?)
I smiled, knowing exactly what she was asking.
"Enna?"
(Me?)
She asked and then repeated, cupping my face with her hands,
"Enna kettipe'laa?"
(Will you embrace me forever?)
I inhaled her unusually warm breath as our foreheads met, and closing my eyes, I whispered,
"Kattikaama enga di po poren?"
(Where could I go without embracing you forever?)
I then opened my eyes to see hers glistening with unshed tears.
Cupping her face gently, I wiped away the tears from her cheeks, and asked softly,
"Enkitta nee eppavum, yedhuvum expect panna maata'le, ma? Inniku ennaachu?"
(From me, you never expect anything, right? What happened today?)
She shook her head, sniffing, and replied,
"Therila"
(I don't know)
"Seri, yeppo paathaalum enkooda irukkumbodhu alugaadha, Seetha. Unakke theriyum'le? End enna'nu? Apro yen adha potu kolappikira?"
(Okay, don't cry whenever I'm near you, Seetha. You know how this ends, right? Then why are you overthinking it?)
I asked, my voice filled with concern.
She shook her head again.
"You can't understand me. Nekku idhellaa, yedho ennoda dream maadhiri iruku"
(You can't understand me. To me, this feels like some kind of dream)
Her voice trembled as she said it.
"Shhhh..."
I whispered, pulling her closer.
"Seetha, please. Enakennamo, nee enkooda irukkumbodhu'laa eppavum aludhukutte irukka maadhiri irukku, ma. Please... I am sorry"
(Seetha, please. I feel like you're always crying whenever I am near you, ma. Please... I am sorry)
I used my usual trick to apologize to her without any context. She chuckled softly, despite the tension, then kissed my cheek, standing on her toes and gently pulling my face down to her height.
I smiled, kissed her back on her dimpled cheek, and watched as she headed inside her house. A few minutes later, I glanced down at my phone when I received her message,
❄️: "Reached ❤"
With a sigh of relief, I made my way back to my house. When I entered, I found my father still awake, sitting on the couch. I sighed again, crouching in front of him and taking his hands in mine.
"I'm not going to leave her, appa"
I said seriously.
"Chey, enna da pesura? Naan unna sandhegam ellaa padala. Avanga veetla enna solli puriya vaikardhu'nu dha yosichuttu irundhen"
(Chey, what are you saying? I haven't doubted you at all. I was just thinking about what to say to make her parents understand)
He replied with a smile, ruffling my hair.
"Adha naan paathukuren, pa. Neenga poi thoongunga untime'le yen endhiruchu ukaandhuttu irukkinga?"
(I'll take care of that, Dad. Why are you staying awake when you should be sleeping? )
"Enakku thooko varla, da. Nee milkshakes eduthuttu pogumbodhu naan terrace'le irundhu appodha keela vandhen. Rendu milkshakes vera eduthuttu poniyaa.. seri thirumba veliya varuva kekkalaam'nu irundhen. Apro romba neram aagiyum onnum sathame illaye'nu dha unna vandhu koopten"
(I'm not feeling sleepy, da. When you went back to your room with the milkshakes, I was just coming down from the stairs and watching you. You took two milkshakes, so I waited for you to come out. But even after a long time, there was no sound, so I came to check on you)
He explained seriously, but I widened my eyes, suddenly remembering something.
"Aiyayo!"
"Enna da?"
(What's wrong?)
"Avalukku milkshake kudukave naan marandhutten, pa"
(I forgot to give her the milkshake, pa)
He glared at me.
"Adapaavi. Sorry pa'nu kaeppa'nu paathaa.. nee ippo avalukku milkshake kudukkaadha dhu dha un pretchanaya? Unna.."
(Rascal! I thought you would be apologizing, but now you're more concerned about forgetting to give her a milkshake? You...)
I laughed and escaped from him shouting,
"Good night pa"
After my first cold midnight shower ever, I emerged with a mix of regret and affection for her. Regret for moving in too quickly, but the affection... it was overwhelming, like a constant pull that I couldn't ignore.
I slipped into my sandal-colored shorts, leaving the rest of me bare, preparing to rest in bed. But, my thoughts were wild as I shook my head, and organized the couch cloth and bedsheet, neatly.
The duvet covered me, but my mind couldn't escape her.
I won't deny it-the feel of her curves against my hands was intoxicating, even now, enough to stir something deep inside me, beneath my shorts.
What a woman!
I sighed, but sleep didn't come easily as my mind wandered back to her.
What would she be doing now? Would she be thinking about me too, or already asleep, possibly.... tired?
Pressing my lips together, I ruffled the damp hair behind my head, placing my hands under it as I stared at the ceiling.
But I couldn't stop thinking about her even now, wondering how I could make things easier for both of us - when I fu...
Groaning, I laid there, caught between desire and the need to make her completely mine.
With a smirk, I finally fell asleep, determined to make her forget the anger I had shown her from the start, and ensure that the only harshness she remembered would be the kind I showed her for the right reasons!
