                                      "Iconic duo lesson number one....be us!"

The girl stared at the figure as she tried to make it out. The sun shone round the dark figure, and she could only make out a tall figure with...curls?

Gwen knew she probably looked like an idiot squinting at some poor guy who was most likely asking for directions or somethings.

"I know you probably don't remember but-" The boy started to trail off.

The curls, the nickname only one person called her. It became so obvious to her now.

"Oh, my gosh!" Gwen exclaimed as she sat straight up from the lounge chair. "Dingus!" She didn't think about using the old nickname but to be honest she wasn't thinking much at all, she as so shocked my seeing a stranger she once knew face to face with her.

Much to her surprise Walker reached for a hug and she followed.

"Thank god you remembered me from when we were friends and not from acting or something." Walker mumbled into the hug, referring to the nickname.

"It be worse if I didn't remember you at all." Gwen chuckled finally pulling away from the hug, realizing its probably lasted way too long.

"Oh, god" Walker laughed. "I don't even wanna think about that."

"I- uh." Gwendolyn stuttered not being sure of what to say. "Gosh, it's been so long."

"Yeah," Walker agreed. "It has. I wish we stayed in contact; I should've had my mom-"

"It wasn't anyone's fault, Walker." Gwen reassured the boy. "We were like, what nine?"

"Yeah," Walker said. "Hey, did you wanna walk around?"

"Yeah, sure that'd be great."

Gwendolyn quickly packed her book into her tote bag and started to walk, her and Walker strolled around for nearly two hours catching up, though it wasn't nearly enough time to cover the past four years.

"Do you remember when the sing set at school collapsed when we were on it?" Walker asked still laughing from the pair's previous conversation.

"OH, MY GOSH!"  Gwendolyn laughed. "I still have the scar on my elbow."

"Me too!" Walker exclaimed. "So, now that we know everything leading up to this moment we should talk about now."

"Well, I as peacefully tanning but then some weird famous boy came up to me and investigated my deepest darkest secrets-" Gwen joked before Walker cut her off.

"Okay, stop!" Walker laughed. " I mean, how come you're on this cruise"

"Well," Gwendolyn started as she rested against the railing of the boat. "My dad still works on these boats a lot, so he goes on cruises all the time, but I usually don't go."

"What changed that made you go this time?" Walker asked leaning against the railing next to the girl. 

"I'm not sure, I just had this weird feeling that i needed something like this for summer, and then my mom said that we should all be together for once this summer and now the gangs al here."

"Wait, your whole family's here?" Walker asked seeming a little too happy.

"Yeah," Gwen said. "Why?"

"We all should have dinner together tonight at the buffet." Walker said. "My family really missed yours."

"Really?" Gwen asked slightly shocked.

"Oh yeah," Walker said. "Our families are just filled with iconic duos, our moms, our dads, Leena and Ezra, you, me and Ash, Tanner and Sadie. And Tanner missed Sadie a lot, I mean really missed her,"

"Oh, trust me she missed him too." Gwen laughed. "And, yeah, dinner together sounds great."

"Great." Walker smiled

That smile. Walker had one of those smiles where you just have to look, and it somehow makes you smile too. It was just so bright and genuine; it made since seeing as walker himself was the same way. Real, honest, genuine, bright, pretty.

Gwen quickly snapped herself out of her thoughts and continued to talk to the blonde boy. "What about you?"

"Huh?" Walker asked as if he had been stuck in some sort of trance while Gwen was talking. "How come you're on this cruise?" Gwen clarified. 

"Oh, well" Walker started. "I needed a break, my whole family did. I've been filming a traveling so much lately, especially for press tours that everyone kinda got tired and split, my family didn't like it, so we took a vacation, get away from the media."

Gwen really felt bd for him. he was just a kid he shouldn't have to deal with all this pressure and be in the spotlight so much, but she was happy he as taking the break he needed and as here with her. "Can i ask you something?"

"Yeah," Walker said taking his eyes off the water and facing the girl. "Of, course."

"Why'd you start acting? Like truthfully." 

At first Walker seemed surprised, but his gaze softened before he turned back to the water.

"It's stupid, and embarrassing." Walker chuckled. "But truthfully, you. do you remember that time we did that school play together?"

"Yeah?"

"You were really happy when I got the part with you and we had so much fun, so when I was in LA and I had the chance I took it, to kind of make it up to myself for leaving you in Virgina."

Gwen smiled and nodded honestly still processing everything that's happened these past few hours before the pair began talking again, they exchanged social medias and phone numbers making sure they wouldn't lose contact again) before parting ways to get dressed for dinner.

"IM GOING TO THROWN UP." Sadie shouted running around the room searching for an outfit. "GWEN, I NEED HELP, MY CUTE ORANGE AND PINK FLORAL SUNDRESS ISNT IN MY SUITCASE."

"It's hung up in the closet, Didi." Gwendolyn calmly replied as she slightly blended in some of her favorite Rare beauty blush. "No, it's not!" Sadie shouted as she flopped on the bed and screamed into a pillow. "I already checked!"

Gwen sighed and placed her makeup and brush down as she got up and opened the closet door, revealing the exact dress Sadie as looking for. "Here." Gwen said as she pulled the dress out and handed it to her sister. "It's not a big deal, it's just dinner"

"Not a big deal?! we are having dinner with the Scobell's!"

"Whom we've known for years." Gwen added

"You don't get it!" Sadie cried out.

"I get it." Gwen said searching for her lip tint. "You're not nervous 'cause Walker is famous or because it's been so long, it's because you still have that crush on Tanner from when you were like five."

Sadie thought about protesting but she knew it as pointless, she did have a crush on Tanner and even if she didn't admit it, her sister was stubborn and already knew she was right so this debate could last for days.

"Yeah, I do." Sadie said in surrender.

Gwendolyn immediately burst out laughing and boasting about how she always knew anyways.

"At least I don't have asthma." Sadie said in an attempt to make her sister upset.

"Do you think Tanner has a thing for girls with black eyes?" Gwen 'threatened'

Sadie paused and continued to get ready. "Those brown cowgirl boots would look great with that white dress you're wearing." She finally spoke.

"That's what I thought."

"So, Gwen, do you still play soccer?" Heather asked at the table the two families were sitting at.

"Oh, yeah." Gwen smiled. "I was actually able to get on varsity."

"As a freshman?" Leena asked, understandably slightly confused.

"Yeah, it took a lot of training," Gwen said. "But it's fun and I still enjoy it a lot."

"Oh, do you remember when Walker would go to all her games?" Heather said to Jackie.

As the two mothers went on to talk about nonsense and spill their children's secrets for a few laughs, Gwen nudged Walker's arm and pointed to bother of their younger siblings. Sadie and Tanner sat there laughing and taking selfies.

"They're cute." Walker spoke.

"Yeah," Gwen said. "They are."

Gwen glanced around the table, she saw her and Walker's dad both laughing and nudging each other, Ezra and Leena talking about how much they hated junior year and were happy summer finally started, and every once and a while her twin would make desperate attempt participate in the conversation, and then there she was, sitting next to Walker, slightly farther away than everyone else, simply enjoying each other's company. She found it interesting how well the two families worked together, and how they somehow kept finding each other.

 "Are you two even going to do anything?" Tanner asked Walker and Gwen referring to the fact that they were just sitting there next to each other.

"You're just mad we can be a better duo then you without even doing anything" Walker said.

"Iconic duo number one..." Gwen said. "Be us!

"Light work, no reaction." Walker said stretching out his arms and putting one around Gwen's shoulder.

Sadie and Tanner walked away without saying anything more to the older pair of teens.

"I don't think they got what we meant." Sadie said to Tanner as they walked off.

"They did" Tanner said.

"Really? Because Gwen went on about being an 'iconic duo' or something."

"My brother knew what i meant, and he did something about it."

"Okay, I totally missed all of that then." 

"Being oblivious must run in the family then."

"I'm gonna pretend you didnt just say that."
